The man in black grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the car, Emily Dormer wailed as she was pulled out, and then palely knelt on the ground.
Tears streamed down her pale cheeks, dripping onto the damp sand. Through her tearful vision, she saw a pair of shiny leather shoes slowly emerge in front of her. Emily Dormer slowly lifted her head, trembling as she spoke, "Brother Brandan…"
The man before her stood tall like jade, his frame towering and slender, casting a hazy shadow over her. Emily Dormer slowly lowered her head, not daring to look at his face.
Then, she heard the sound of the safety catch on a handgun.
The "click" startled her to almost scream, "Brother Brandan, don't kill me!"
She trembled, holding onto his legs, "I will leave with the child, go far away, Brother Brandan, I won't disturb you anymore. I was wrong, Emily knows she was wrong, please forgive me!"
