After Brandan fired the shot, the surroundings fell silent, and the sniper hiding in the dark did not fire again.
Brandan coldly curled the corner of his lips, then squinted his eyes, watching Emily being carried away by the Black nanny.
Over at the pier, someone was already coming to meet Emily and the others, and a bodyguard approached and whispered in Brandan's ear, "Young Hyde, should we pursue them?"
Brandan squinted and looked into the distance, then shook his head.
The two shots he fired made it impossible for Emily to keep the child.
He was only there to eliminate that child.
Now that the child was gone, he didn't care whether she lived or died.
Relaxing all over, Brandan's legs buckled, and he staggered slightly. The bodyguard quickly caught him, placing a hand on his back, and felt the fabric was already soaked with blood.
