Her words seemed to make the man slightly startled.
After a moment, Robert Stephens chuckled softly.
He seemed to be truly amused by her words, and after laughing for a while, he said, "Daisy Ginger, did you misunderstand something?"
"What do you mean?"
"Edward is my brother. Even if I'm not good to anyone, it's impossible for me to be unkind to him. But you," he glanced over at her, his eyes revealing a sharp cold glint, softly said, "your existence is the main cause of his harm. After you leave, I'll find someone suitable and obedient for Edward. His future affairs don't need your concern; you should focus on yourself."
His words were already dripping with sarcasm.
Daisy didn't say anything more. She bowed her head, sat there silently for a while, then stood up and nodded, "Then I'll be leaving."
Robert did not stop her, allowing her to leave.
Daisy pushed the door open and stepped outside, taking a deep breath of the air until the faint aroma in her nose dissipated.
