On December 26th, 2015, mysterious gates appeared around the world. Within these structures were extradimensional planes containing grotesque, nightmare-fueled monsters that only wanted to kill and destroy anything that wasn't them.

Upon exiting the gates, these monsters would go to every human settlement they could find and kill every living being while leaving behind an untold amount of mass destruction.

The world's militaries quickly responded and went into action, combating these extra-dimensional beings within their countries with everything they had, including nuclear weaponry. However, that was only used as a last resort.

Unfortunately, every method used to exterminate them, including the last resort, was ineffective.

When even their greatest weapon failed to eradicate the extra-dimensional monsters, the thought of extinction lingered in the minds of many. Yet they still held onto the hope they could come out on top.

However, as time passed, their hope dwindled significantly, and when it reached 2016, it was nearly nonexistent. The extinction of humanity seemed all but inevitable, as a quarter of the earth's population had been eradicated in just one year.

Fortunately, a miracle occurred.

Discovered within the extradimensional planes were fruits called "peaches." When consumed, these fruits would grant an individual a supernatural power unique to them, the ability to manipulate anti-demonic energy, and drastically increased physical capabilities.

This discovery rekindled humanity's hope, and two years later, they defeated the extradimensional invaders. With the enemy gone, humanity retook all they had lost and began to build a better world and future with their newfound powers.

However, despite humanity becoming stronger and better than before, there was one glaring issue: men couldn't obtain supernatural powers or abilities from consuming peaches, unlike women.

Because of this, in 2020, men were stripped of most of their civil rights, making them second-class citizens. The male population understandably took issue with their rights being taken from them, thus leading to multiple civil wars occurring worldwide.

Unfortunately, most of the battles ended in victory for the women, and the men were utterly defeated.

Yet the male gender still persevered.

However, after dozens of failed rebellions and getting their spirits thoroughly crushed, men worldwide eventually accepted their new reality.

Of course, there were still a few who refused to follow the status quo, and these individuals were part of an organization known as Eden, which was led by Adam Eliyahu Cruz, the organization's founder and lead scientist.

Eden's goal was simple on paper yet difficult in practice: to create a group of superpowered males equal to or even superior to Peach users.

It was an ambitious project that required time, significant resources, trial and error, and dedication. However, that didn't matter to them. They'd do anything to make their goal a reality, even if it meant crossing into the unethical and inhumane.

- 2075 Somewhere In Mexico -

Deep within the earth was an advanced underground facility where superpowered males were created and trained to be the ultimate monster slayers.

It's also Eden's base of operations.

The base had a radius of two miles, went four miles deep into the earth's crust, had a hundred floors, had more than a dozen advanced facilities, and housed over thirty thousand people.

"How has Subject Zero been performing while I was gone?" A man asked.

The man was of Hispanic and Israeli descent. The man stood at six feet, was muscular, and looked like he was in his early twenties. However, in actuality, he was seventy-five years old. He has thick, chin-length dark hair that lacks any signs of graying, soulless crimson eyes, golden brown skin, and chiseled features.

The man was Adam Eliyahu Cruz, the lead scientist, founder of Eden, and the world's first superpowered man.

"Zero exceeded our expectations, as usual, sir. Subject Zero has the third-highest academic score—" The researcher's report lasted a few more minutes.

Once finished, the researcher gave Adam files on the individual of interest. Adam looked at the files and skimmed through them. The files detailed Zero's abilities, overall performance, relationships with the other subjects, personal information, etc.

Once Adam had finished reading everything, he placed the files on his desk and looked at the researcher with an unreadable expression.

"Increase the difficulty of his training tenfold and send them over to his room for his satisfactory performance," Adam commanded before dismissing the researcher and returning to his paperwork.

As the director of Eden was doing paperwork, his thoughts wandered to Zero, who, like the others, was his biological son.

The boy was his youngest child with unimaginable potential and was his favorite out of his twenty-five sons, which was ironic considering he was the one who gave him the most headaches.

Adam never thought there could be someone he utterly detested with an intense, overwhelming passion but also greatly respected to the point where he saw that person as an equal.

Yet Zero managed to do precisely that.

Unlike everyone else, who looked at him with reverence and fear, the boy showed indifference to his existence despite knowing Adam's reputation.

Another aspect that set Zero apart from the others was that he had more positive characteristics than negative ones that Adam wished his other sons had, such as immense willpower, adaptability, the ability to stay composed under pressure, and insightfulness.

That wasn't to say his other sons didn't have these characteristics; they were just significantly less prominent and lesser in quantity.

For example, his son Serpent was an excellent fighter, did as he was told, and was one of his most powerful creations. However, what held him back was his short temper, inability to adapt quickly, and lack of foresight.

On the other hand, his son Buddha was calm and collected, intelligent and wise beyond his years, and adaptable. However, he was far too passive, and his combative capabilities, while top-tier, were lacking compared to those of his brothers.

However, Zero had everything a father/creator could wish for in his offspring. Unfortunately, his few less-than-desirable characteristics, while fewer in number, were just as prominent as his desired traits.

And these undesirable characteristics were that Zero was utterly defiant to the core, refusing to do anything that took away his control or didn't benefit him and was an unapologetic manwhore who was unafraid to share his opinion in the most condescending and sarcastic manner possible.

Any attempts to force Zero into submission, threats of termination, or torture backfired and ended with many people hospitalized with life-altering injuries or killed in exceedingly horrific and brutal ways.

So when violence and threats didn't work, Adam tried mental manipulation, only to find out Zero was immune to such methods, thanks to an infuriating aspect of his power.

Thus, Adam was left with only two options.

Eliminate Zero or negotiate with him.

As much as he wanted to do the first option, the boy was too valuable to be eliminated. So he chose the second option, much to his shame, as conceding to someone younger and inferior to him in every aspect was utterly humiliating.

Yet Adam couldn't help but respect the boy for it and felt a rare sense of fatherly pride as Zero did what no one else could: making Adam admit to defeat.

No matter how infuriating Zero was, some of Adam was glad the boy was different deep down. His youngest reminded him so much of his mother, one of the few women in his life who had never done him any wrong and was the only woman he ever loved.

It was a shame she had passed away so soon.

Perhaps she may have broken through the defenses Adam built over the decades, changed his outlook on life, and lessened the burdens he's been carrying on his shoulders for decades.

He guessed he'd never know.

Adam was broken out of his thoughts when the alarms went off. He took out his phone and contacted security.

As the phone was ringing, the sounds of explosions, gunshots, and screams of horror and agony could be heard.

Adam pressed the button under his desk, and a barrier surrounded the room. He then called the head of security, who answered a few seconds later.

"What's going on out there?" Adam demanded.

"Subject Zero broke out of his container and is killing everyone in sight," the head of security explained in a professional and calm tone.

Adam narrowed his eyes at the information he had learned. It should've been impossible for Zero to escape from his container, as they were virtually indestructible.

"How did he get out?"

Adam could hear the head of security hesitate. "He mind-controlled the guards—"

"HE WHAT!" Adam slammed his free hand on the desk, breaking it in two, and stood up with a furious expression.

He then ordered the head of security to put Eden on lockdown and to detain Zero at all costs before ending the call.

'WHEN DID THE BOY DEVELOP MIND-CONTROLLING CAPABILITIES?' Adam's mind raced with questions.

If he had this ability, how did it work? Why didn't he escape sooner? What other abilities was he hiding?

Adam shook his head.

Now wasn't the time for questions.

Adam deactivated the barriers, exited his office, and took out his handgun, setting it to stun mode.

As Adam made his way through the facility, the director of Eden came across hundreds of mutilated dead bodies.

They were littered everywhere, and blood and gore painted the walls and ceiling. Some bodies were torn to pieces, others were split in half, and some were stained on the walls or ceilings.

Adam pitied the poor souls that got in Zero's way. However, his pity was overshadowed by his annoyance.

'Did he have to make such a mess?' Adam thought in irritation.

Getting this mess cleaned up would take days, and he would have more paperwork. The only positive was that he didn't have to notify their families of their deaths since they were orphans whom the organization took in.

Ten minutes later, he found himself at the entryway of the facility.

There were even more dead bodies scattered everywhere, assault vehicles were destroyed, the vault door to the outside was torn open, and the subjects he sent after Zero were in such horrific conditions that the only way for Adam to recognize them was by their energy signatures.

Buddha's face was torn off, he had deep lacerations all across his body, his internal organs were spilling out, and he was missing his jaw and arms.

Wukong was similarly disfigured, the only difference being that his legs and tail were missing.

Adam's eyes then wandered to 666, and he almost winced when he saw his son's condition, as he had it the worst.

Not only was his face disfigured beyond recognition, missing his jaw, multiple deep lacerations all over his body, and missing limbs, but his reproductive organs were smashed into a bloody paste.

Despite their horrific states, the three would luckily recover within a week or two, thanks to their regenerative healing factors. Psychologically, however, that was another beast entirely.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Adam turned to see his elites and his sons, Wolf and Serpent.

Wolf approached him with a look of concern. "Are you okay, sir?"

Adam nodded. "But they aren't." He looked at the three downed subjects. He issued an order. "Get them to the medical bay and call the cleaning crew."

"Jesus fuck, I knew Zero was hardcore, but this is something else," Serpent tactlessly commented, earning a smack to the head from Wolf. He turned to glare at his brother while rubbing the back of his skull. "What the fuck was that for?"

Wolf glared right back at him and growled. "Watch how you talk in front of Father."

Serpent rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He then looked at Adam, who was looking in the direction where Zero had escaped. "So, are we going to go after Zero, sir?" he asks, earning a mental eye roll from his father for asking something so stupidly obvious.

"Obviously, he's too valuable to let loose," Adam replied sharply, making Serpent flinch and Wolf inwardly snicker at the former. "Round up the others and return here within ten minutes."

"Yes, sir!" The boys saluted him before running off.

Once they were no longer within fifty meters of him, Adam sighed a long and heavy sigh.

"I'm getting too old for this shit."

End.
