Chapter 259 - 259 Marco decides to shoot

The people who saved Whitebee and the others at this critical moment were naturally not ordinary!

It was a top powerhouse, long renowned across the seas—

The First Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates...

Known as the Phoenix—Marco!

"Marco?"

"No wonder..."

Katakuri steadied himself, his eyes fixed warily on Marco.

Even with his Observation Haki that allows him to see the future, he had still been sneak attacked. That meant the incoming attacker's Observation Haki was at least on par with his own—otherwise, it would've been impossible to catch Katakuri off guard!

It was just like earlier, when Vito and the others had tried to ambush him with 30 artillery shells—only for the plan to end in failure.

"Tell me!"

"Katakuri, what is the meaning of this?"

"Did Charlotte Linlin order you to come here and attack us?"

Marco slowly descended onto the ship, eyes burning with visible fury.

Anyone could tell—this First Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates was absolutely livid!

You couldn't blame him. Katakuri had killed so many of their crewmates—casualties were likely in the double digits!

Even if only a few had died, Marco would still be heartbroken. But now?

With such heavy losses, his anger was boiling over.

And yet, along with that rage was deep confusion.

He couldn't understand it at all!

Why would Katakuri show up alone at such a critical moment and launch an attack on them?

It didn't make sense.

In Marco's mind, Katakuri should've known perfectly well that their next target was the Kamui Pirates!

But the Kamui Pirates hadn't even made a move yet...

And Katakuri had already attacked first?

Something was definitely off!

There had to be more going on here!

Katakuri let out a long sigh—clearly helpless.

"Would you believe me if I said I had no choice?"

Right now, Katakuri truly wanted to tell Marco everything he knew—

To let the Whitebeard Pirates understand that the Charlotte Family had no intention of going to war with them!

But!

At this point, Katakuri couldn't reveal a single word of the truth!

Who knew if that bastard Kronos was secretly watching his every move?

If he revealed anything now, wouldn't that be the same as betraying Kronos?

And if Kronos found out... he might kill all of Katakuri's brothers on the spot!

Katakuri knew all too well—

Kronos was a ruthless man who always followed through on his threats!

He had warned Katakuri: If he dared to step out of line, Oven and the others would be the first to die.

Not to mention the rest of the family.

Especially his brothers Daifuku and Oven—the three of them were triplets, born of the same father.

Naturally, Katakuri had a much deeper bond with those two than with the others.

Thinking about it now, Katakuri's eyes grew dim. The pain he felt—he couldn't even put it into words.

Marco, however, wasn't blind. He could tell that Katakuri was struggling with something, forced into this situation against his will.

But—

No matter how sharp or intuitive Marco was, he could never have guessed the full truth:

That before coming here, Katakuri and his group had already encountered a being they could never hope to provoke...

And in doing so, had brought disaster upon themselves.
