Chapter 106 - Chapter 105: Infiltration (Anime MV Plot, for your discretion)

Pulling out the personal data line, she connected it to the entrance port of the electronic gate.

Sasha's cybernetic eye suddenly illuminated with a green glow, and an endless stream of data flashed before her eyes.

The electronic gate opened silently, and Sasha crouched to one side, glancing briefly inside the building. She didn't spot any robots or living personnel.

Seizing the moment, she quickly stood up, grabbed the equipment bag hanging from her shoulder, and sprinted through the lobby.

The cameras mounted on the walls of the lobby were scanning the space continuously, but at just the right moment, all of them missed seeing Sasha's figure. She avoided detection, and no alarms were triggered.

Once inside the lobby, she saw the walls and ceilings lit up with a blood-red glow.

The entire building was currently under security system maintenance, and all the lights had shifted to this warning red light, indicating restricted access.

Sasha quickly took a few steps, and as the camera was about to return to scan her, she clung to the counter like a cat, hiding behind it to avoid being detected.

The personal data line was pulled out and plugged into the counter's interface. The authorization command from the security token swiftly deactivated all the building's cameras.

At the same time, the jammer inside her equipment bag activated, and the building's signals started being disrupted. No information could be transmitted out.

The BioTech building had now become a "blind spot," and everything happening inside was concealed. Even if BioTech employees, monitoring remotely at home, noticed something unusual, it would only be after 20 minutes.

With everything done, Sasha finally exhaled.

The moment she shut down the building's cameras with the security token marked the most dangerous part of the mission as complete. From there, all she had to do was retrieve the data as quickly as possible.

Sasha stood up and walked towards the building's stairwell.

Before the mission, she had already memorized the building's internal layout.

Though she had never been inside the BioTech building before, Sasha successfully found the working elevator based on her mental map, took out her personal data line, and plugged it into the interface. The elevator was successfully hacked in an instant.

The elevator door slowly opened, and the spacious interior of the lift surprised her. It was big enough to fit more than twenty people if they squeezed in.

As she entered the elevator, the BioTech logo appeared on the rear wall, along with two of the latest products under development.

Sasha, her expression indifferent, stepped inside, leaned against the back wall, and silently waited for the elevator doors to close. Her blue eyes, as beautiful as cat's eye stones, revealed no emotion or sparkle.

Suddenly, a message popped up before her eyes.

"Sasha, is everything going smoothly on your end?" The caller ID showed the young man's avatar—a sword drawn from its sheath.

Seeing the message appear, Sasha's lips instinctively curled into a small smile, though she still habitually replied:

"No problem."

She had grown used to solo infiltration missions like this, where she could suppress her inner emotions and not let her thoughts affect her. This was the mindset a hacker should have.

The night she worked with the young man was her first time, and she had a protective feeling for him. Though he was reliable, there were certain things he wasn't quite so dependable on, and she had to remind him often.

The hacker "training" session that night, where Lin Mo played the role of the "good student," now seemed amusing to her.

"Stay safe, make sure to return within the jammer's active time," the young man sent another message.

Sasha glanced at it but didn't reply, instead pulling a piece of gum from her pocket and chewing it slowly, relaxing her tense mood with the slight sweetness.

...

The elevator opened, and Sasha tightened her grip on her equipment bag as she jogged outside.

The top floor of the building was still filled with glaring red light. Server racks were densely arranged, like rectangular stone tablets, the heat emanating from them raising the temperature of the entire floor.

Following the mental map in her mind, Sasha turned a few corners and accurately found the office containing the data.

Using her personal data line, she opened the electronic door and stepped into the office without hesitation.

The office was simply arranged. Directly opposite the door was a glass curtain wall, and along the wall was an office desk with a multi-monitor setup.

Sasha walked to the chair, took out a pair of delicate network goggles from her equipment bag, and plugged the data line into the interface on the desk.

She put on the goggles, and an immense stream of data flooded into the tiny lenses, constructing a 3D view of the virtual world.

As she watched the vast data flow, forming a world as tangible as the physical one, Sasha smiled slightly, her familiarity with this world becoming evident.

Thanks to the goggles, she seamlessly entered the virtual data "Cyber World."

In this world, a hacker's abilities could reach their peak, and hacking skills were multiplied.

The virtual world fully "materialized," and the data in the small computer was no longer hidden or protected. The computer stood bare, its every detail visible.

Without any effort, Sasha found the data they were after.

Data packets unraveled before her eyes, and the security passwords on them seemed to dissipate like air, revealing confidential information.

[Due to recent improvements in the ethanol formulation, we are pleased to report a 0.0001% increase in sales this week. The development team congratulates you. The company thanks you for your dedication and hard work. Though there will be no quarterly bonuses this year, we hope you will wisely use your six days of paid leave...]

[Please refer to the attached document for information about the drugs in production... Note that some items require level 2 or higher access to view their development data...]

After copying all the information, Sasha transferred it directly to Mann's communicator in the intangible, floating data world.

Soon, Mann responded:

"Great, we've got what we need. Let's get out of here before the jammer deactivates, and then we can head back to the bar to celebrate!"

The message popped up in Sasha's virtual chat window, no longer appearing in her eyes.

With the data she needed successfully acquired, Sasha felt much more at ease, but it wasn't time to chat just yet.

She raised a finger to her lips and looked at the chat box Mann had sent her, making a "shh" motion.

Mann's chat box instantly disappeared, along with Lin Mo's chat box that had popped up just moments earlier.

However, that brief shift in perspective caused Sasha to pause.

She noticed a new data module displayed next to her with the words "Confidential Information," marked with the BioTech logo.

In the silent, still network world, Sasha pondered for a moment, then reached out and opened the data module.
