Zach and Serena picked up each of the kids who hung around their leg and said smilingly, "Oh, my little sweethearts! You're finally here after so long!"
They had been craning their necks, looking forward to their arrival every single day.
"Grandpa Zach, Grandma Serena, Mommy has been busy ever since we came back from overseas. That's why we are only here to meet you two today," Kayla explained, with her lips pouted.
"You are always so adorable and lovely." Serena laughed, seeing how cute her god-granddaughter was.
"Grandma was kidding with you. We were not home that day when you returned, and you missed out on the reunion dinner that night. Nonetheless, I'm still very happy for all of you."
As she spoke, she swept a glance over Leo, who was standing next to Zoey, and said loudly, "The Carter family is forever your home. If anyone ever bullies you, you can always come back here."
