There was darkness and in that darkness there was a consciousness. 'Woman, I am a woman,' The consciousness thought and the darkness agreed.
'Ariel, that is my name,' She recalled and again the darkness agreed.
'But what am I doing here?' For that one, the darkness said nothing, simply moving around her in waves, like the ocean, she thought. But her sluggish mind struggled to place the ocean, only knowing that the ocean could be some place where a person could just let themselves drift away. Where a woman could disappear.
'I want to disappear,' She thought, wishing that with all of her might, and the darkness pulled her further away. She would have gone willingly with it. But then, through all of that pitch black, she heard something, a sound that did not belong.
"Ariel?" A voice called, and it sounded so unbelievably sad that she stopped moving.
