"Total Concentration Constant is a state achieved when Breathing reaches a certain level. Kamado-san, with your effort, you can definitely do it!" Naho encouraged Tanjiro.
"Mmm-hmm," Kiyo and Sumi nodded in agreement.
"Thank you! I'll do my best!" Encouraged, Tanjiro felt his resolve strengthen.
After bidding farewell to the three girls, Tanjiro returned to his ward.
Zenitsu and Inosuke were lounging around in bed. Tanjiro was used to it; since giving up training, they'd been like that.
"Zenitsu, Inosuke. I saw Senior Ryuji today, and he gave me a way to defeat Kanao!" Tanjiro shared the good news.
Inosuke, more interested than Zenitsu, sat up. "What did the white-haired guy say?"
"If we master Total Concentration Constant, we can defeat Kanao," Tanjiro replied.
"Total Concentration Constant? What's that?" Zenitsu asked.
"Maintaining Total Concentration Breathing constantly, making it a natural part of your body," Tanjiro explained.
Zenitsu scoffed, "Are you kidding? Total Concentration Breathing is incredibly draining. Maintaining it constantly is impossible! Are we supposed to stop sleeping?"
Tanjiro explained, "Senior Ryuji said so! Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi all agreed that Kanao is so strong because she's mastered Total Concentration Constant."
Zenitsu replied, "Only freaks like Senior Ryuji and Kanao can do that. Let's forget about it."
Zenitsu's nature was to avoid challenges rather than overcome them.
Unlike Zenitsu, Inosuke, a man of action, began practicing Total Concentration Breathing with his own Breathing Style while Tanjiro and Zenitsu argued.
Noticing the change in Inosuke's breathing, Tanjiro focused on him. He knew Inosuke was attempting it.
They watched for several minutes until Inosuke collapsed onto the bed, gasping for air.
Zenitsu said, "See? Even Inosuke could only last a few minutes. Maintaining Total Concentration constantly could be fatal!"
Tanjiro, undeterred by Zenitsu's negativity, adjusted Ryuji's one-hour goal. "Senior Ryuji said nothing is achieved overnight. Let's start small—ten minutes, then twenty, thirty, and then an hour."
Zenitsu had no intention of learning Total Concentration Constant. "You guys do that. I'm going to get some sleep." He lay back down.
