Shatters
Xuan knocked the glass cup from Fang Yuan's grip, sending the tea spilling on the floor as the cup shattered to pieces.
Mr. Han was pissed off.
"What?! You little breast—"
Before anything else could happen, Han was already holding Xuan by the collar, his shout alone could kill the boy.
And he was about to hit Xuan until he quickly spoke up. "No, no, the tea was poisoned."
Mr. Han's wide palm hung in midair, and then Fang Yuan stood up, dropping Han's palm down and telling him to let go of Xuan.
"Don't believe this fool, Young Master Fang Yuan. No one would dare poison you in my sect, and besides, there is no pure evidence of what he's saying."
However, Fang Yuan did not listen to Han. This was a matter of his life here, and he knew he had thousands of enemies from the bloodline he was from.
So he was ready to pay attention to what Xuan would say, and if it turned out to be false, he would deal with Xuan brutally.
Xuan knew this, but he was very confident the tea was poisoned. After all, he poisoned it himself.
"Tell me, cripple man, what makes you think my tea was poisoned?"
"Well, after I finished sweeping the outer sect and was walking towards my room, I saw the guard with the tray of tea. I didn't see clearly because I was far, but I was certain he sprinkled something inside the kettle of tea before walking in here," said Xuan.
Confident as ever. But Fang Yuan still found it hard to believe, especially with Han's gibberish poisoning his thoughts.
"I'm telling you, this boy is stupid. Not only is he crippled, but it seems he's also blind now. Is it because you cannot cultivate and now envy Master Fang Yuan?" Han kept yelling.
Then a statement from the young master kept his mouth shut. Han even stepped back a few feet.
"I'm asking, since you're certain he's blind, would you be willing to give the tea a taste?"
Han was shocked. He didn't expect all eyes to fall on him like that. "We... well," he stuttered.
"If it appears it isn't poisoned, then I'll have this boy's head cut out."
"What?" Xuan opened his mouth, and acting as if he wasn't sure, he began stepping back.
But two guards were ordered to hold him from leaving the room. Xuan just hoped his uncle didn't drink the tea.
Because if anything should happen to his uncle Han, it'd be crippling him for the rest of his life.
However, after Han poured the tea, he looked at his family and started thinking. Xuan wasn't really someone to be foolish.
'Of course Xuan would know the consequences of deceiving someone like this. Maybe the tea could actually be poisoned.'
"What are you waiting for, Uncle Han?" said Xuan. 'I can't let him drink that tea,' thought Xuan.
It was after Han saw how Xuan was smiling at him that he was a hundred percent sure. Because he believed Xuan would want to kill him for treating him badly.
"Ahem, this tea is poisoned. I can smell it. It is good you did not drink this tea," said Uncle Han.
Fang Yuan kept quiet, looking at the tea. He ordered they call the kitchen guard, and he poured the tea for the man.
The man, who was clueless, did not know anything happening. Although he found it strange he was being offered the master's tea.
But disobeying wasn't an option. As he was now drinking the tea, he heard Fang Yuan speak.
"And if it appears to not be poisoned, I will kill you and the boy, then cancel this marriage for my troubles."
The kitchen guard's eyes widened. He quickly spat out the tea and asked, "Poi... Poisoned?"
However, it was too late. He fell to his knees and started clutching his chest while coughing countless times, blood escaping his nose and eyes.
He kept coughing and even spat out blood, stretching his hands to touch the young master.
"Don't let him touch you, Master Fang Yuan!" Xuan yelled.
Whether Xuan was crippled, stupid or not, everyone listened and moved away from the dying guard until he fell flat on the floor.
Lifeless. He was dead.
"Let him go, you saved my life," said Fang Yuan. He looked at Xuan's legs and was now feeling pity for him.
As of now, the guards once holding Xuan were ordered to pick the dead man's body from the room.
Xuan's mother was shocked to see her son was actually useful in some way. He saved Fang Yuan.
Son of wealth, everyone in the room already knew it was either Xuan wouldn't leave this man's side, or Xuan was about to be rewarded handsomely.
"If there's anything you want, tell me now," said Fang Yuan. He was really grateful.
Xuan paused. If he was still a cripple, he would have asked for a maiden, but no—he knew this sect and environment weren't the right place anymore.
Once he's done with Han and Li Zhi, he has plans of moving to the Harem Empire and becoming the strongest.
If possible, marry the princess. Fantasy dreams, of course. But most importantly, he needed somewhere to practice his techniques.
Getting entrance to the Harem Empire was no easy task. It was either you're attending an academy there or you're of a big social status.
Xuan couldn't afford the academy because he needed sponsors—and here it is.
"Well, I want to attend Dual Academy in the Harem Empire."
Xuan's request brought gasps to the room. Fang Yuan did not know why everyone was surprised.
"But you're a cripple. You'll not make it past the first-year division, and you'll be kicked out."
"Yes, Master Fang Yuan. I just want to try... I hear cultivation techniques can even make me walk again," Xuan said, looking at the floor.
Fang Yuan did not think much about it. Xuan had saved his life, and this request was nothing he couldn't do.
"If that is what you request, I'll send a letter directly to the academy's head to expect you in the coming entrance exams."
"Thank... thank you, Master Fang Yuan."
As of now, Han did not know how Xuan suddenly stole the spotlight and attention of Fang Yuan. His daughter was there, for God's sake.
"Yes, it is nothing. But I also have a selfish request—will you be by my side during my stay here?" asked Fang Yuan.
"What?"
His sudden request made Han yell, but as the master turned his neck, Han was quickly petrified, unable to move as fear gripped him.
Xuan looked at his uncle. Yes, this is even better than sneaking in to fuck Ru Chen. Now he'll be closer and less suspect to the young master.
Xuan agrees.
"But first, I want all slaves out here to be interrogated. Who dared try poisoning me?"
Xuan chuckles. If you know, you know.
