"Anyway, how's your relationship with Mr. Harper going?" Lilian asked curiously.
Ever since Kevin brought lunch for Jessie, Lilian felt her friend was quite close to winning him over. After all, who would care so much about someone else's lunch that they even go so far as to ask their partner to buy her own groceries and bring them over to eat? Clearly, he has great concern for Jessie’s health.
Jessie thought for a moment and shook her head. "Nothing special. It's just that yesterday, he suddenly got upset. It seems like it’s because the gift I gave Steve was identical to the one I gave him before."
She didn't quite understand what there was to be upset about. She had handcrafted both of them, so why did it matter if they were the same?
Lilian sensed a different meaning to this. She asked, "Could Mr. Harper be jealous? Otherwise, why would he act that way?"
Kevin's behavior did seem like jealousy.
