*Note: Today I have nothing to say, so... enjoy the chapter.
Have a good day :)
...
"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly. Could you repeat that?" I asked. I think I must have misheard.
"Can I stay and live at your house? I don't have anywhere to live…" Dita said. Technically, that was true… but only partially, as she had more than enough money to buy a luxurious mansion and live without limits for years.
"Listen… I don't know why Gid told you that, but… this isn't a hotel," I sighed. I don't know who this girl is, as she never appeared in the manga or anime, and although I don't perceive bad intentions coming from her… how can I let a complete stranger live in my house? Ahem, Lala and the others don't count because I already knew them from the manga.
"This…" Dita trailed off. It had already taken her courage to make such a shameless request. How was she supposed to answer his question?
But at that moment, a Yami dressed in her favorite yellow pajamas came from the dining room to ask if something had happened.
"Is something wrong, Akira? We heard an unfamiliar voice," Yami said. The moment Dita saw Yami, her first instinct was to rush toward her at such a great speed that neither Akira nor Yami could notice her.
"You're Konjiki no Yami!" Dita exclaimed excitedly. Dita grabbed Yami's arm, who was simply stunned.
"Who is this girl?" Yami asked, bewildered.
"She is Dita… I don't know anything else about her except that Gid sent her here to ask for a home," I said, shrugging.
"Yes, I am Dita and I am entirely at your disposal!" Dita said with excitement.
Once the surprise was over, Yami easily slipped away from Dita and looked at her with resentment.
"Hey… can you explain to me why you did that and why you're so excited to see Yami?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Something smells fishy here…
Half an hour later. In the end, I decided to let her into the house and introduce her to all the girls. The reason? Gid. I didn't think Gid would have sent her here without a reason, so I figured the best way to find something out was for her to explain herself while Lala and the others were present. After all, as his daughters, they should understand him better than anyone. That was how Dita and the others met.
Now we were sitting around the table while Dita sat next to Yami and gave her sporadic glances.
"And you said our father sent you here for Akira to take you in?" Nana asked, frowning.
"Ah! Yes, it was the King's idea! I was planning to buy a house, but when the King suggested I live here, I couldn't refuse. After all, Miss Konjiki no Yami is my idol," Dita explained.
"Me? Your idol?" Yami asked, stunned.
"Yes, my lifelong idol, Konjiki no Yami!" Dita nodded. She seemed to have little stars in her eyes every time she looked at Yami.
"My name is Yami now, and also, move farther away from me, you're too close," Yami said.
"Sorry!" Dita said, moving away a little. Except with Akira, Yami hated physical contact.
"And another thing. How can an ex-assassin like me be your idol? Are you some kind of criminal or something? Or do you just have a problem?" Yami asked. Ahem, everyone was asking the same question, but Yami's past was a taboo subject that no one in this house mentioned anymore, so no one dared to ask such a thing. Thankfully, Yami herself realized how strange it was for someone to be her fan considering her former profession.
"Ah, no, no, I don't idolize you for being an assassin, but because of how cool you look! I find it so impressive, that posture, that style, that gaze that seems to penetrate your soul! It's simply fascinating! In fact, when I found out you had left the life of an assassin and gotten engaged, I was very happy for you and my admiration only grew!" Dita explained. All of this is true, but she didn't intend to reveal her true intentions for the moment. After all, even though to Dita, Yami wasn't a stranger, to Yami and everyone else, she was, so she had to act cautiously.
"Hmm. Why does it sound like you like Yami?" Lala asked. After the incident with Haruka, Lala began to be less dense and notice certain nuances that she hadn't grasped before. To give an example, she had discovered that most of the boys at school looked at her constantly, some even with lustful eyes, so she realized that many desired her, which disgusted her since she only had eyes for Akira and didn't like any other man or woman.
"Huh? No, she's just my idol! The King said the same thing, and I don't understand it. Can't someone idolize someone without liking them romantically? Mine is just adoration," Dita denied. In reality, she liked her a little, but that was her little secret, and besides, she had no intention of interfering in her relationship with Akira—quite the opposite. What she wanted was for Akira to add her to his harem. Akira was simply the perfect husband for her, and who knows? Maybe love would arise in the future.
{Note: I'm telling you that it will arise, and don't worry about the part where she likes her a little. It's simply something I added in the past when I was doubting whether to add yuri or not. Luckily, it was a 'no,' but I was already too lazy to rewrite the chapter and left it in. So, don't worry, the risk of yuri is 0%, unless you want me to do a non-canon what if of the fic. There, we can try yuri, but that is up to the reader, that is, you. If no one wants it, it won't be done. If it's not done, all the better for me, as it saves me time, but I would be willing to sacrifice some of my free time to bring you a yuri what if.}
"Mmm," Lala said while staring intently at Dita. Dita got a little nervous but didn't show it.
"Anyway, let's not make her uncomfortable anymore," I sighed. Who cares if she has feelings or not? My women are faithful to me, and I haven't noticed any hostility toward myself, so I have nothing to fear. Although, I am surprised by the number of lesbians I have encountered since I got here: first Haruka and then this girl (if it is true that she is one, as I'm not sure). These girls weren't in the original manga, so I wonder: Where did they come from? I guess reality surpasses fiction.
"Fine," Lala said simply. Yami was completely faithful to Akira, even if this girl liked her. What did it matter? For starters, Yami hated human contact and only behaved flirtatiously with Akira, so there was nothing to fear. And she couldn't have been more right. Yami was deeply in love with Akira and only acted flirtatiously with him; she only allowed him to touch her body. Does this girl like her? So what? For starters, she never had any interest in having any kind of romantic relationship, at least not until Akira arrived, which was when she understood what love is, and since then they had been a harmonious couple and had already done everything a couple does dozens of times.
"This… can I live here then?" Dita asked again shyly. Some were already looking at her with suspicion, but she didn't want to give up. Besides, all she wanted was to be next to Yami; there was nothing romantic in that. Furthermore, she had other objectives, objectives that have already been mentioned previously.
"What do you all think?" I asked curiously. The girls now live with me and are my future wives, so I can't decide something so important on my own.
"I don't care," Nana said. Aside from her strange inclination, Dita seemed like a nice girl and never looked at Akira with hostility, so maybe what she said was true.
"She can stay," Lala said. Dita was a very cute girl, but the only reason Lala said that was to show that it was Akira she should like, not Yami. Lala was sure that by living with them, she would realize this in a few days. There was nothing wrong with having Yami as her idol, but as a love interest, it was unacceptable.
"I think my father didn't send her here with good intentions, but… I think we should play along and see what he's planning," Momo said. Momo wasn't stupid and knew her father hadn't sent Dita here just for her pretty face. No, her father probably found out that Dita had an obsession with Yami that bordered on infatuation and… maybe he wanted to have a little fun or something? The reason was still unclear to Momo, but she was sure her father sent her here on purpose.
"And you, Yami?" I asked. Yami looked at me with her typical expression. "I don't care… as long as she doesn't cling too much to me," Yami said. Dita seemed like a good person, but as mentioned before, Yami hated human contact, with the exception of Akira, her future husband, and Mikan, but the latter not in a sexual sense. Besides, it wasn't that she hated being touched. Physical contact simply referred to being very close, hugging her, kissing her (on the cheeks), touching her breasts (as Momioka sometimes did), etc. Otherwise, it was fine.
"Fine, you can stay, but this is not a free shelter," I said. Fear? That's only for the insecure, not for me.
"Great, I can do anything, and the King gave me a lot of money, I can pay rent!" Dita exclaimed excitedly. She couldn't believe she had succeeded! The King was right; it had been very easy!
"Perfect, your duties will be to help keep the house clean, just like we all do, and pay a rent of… well, we'll set a price when the time comes," I said. I don't know how much to charge her, and honestly, I'm quite tired; I'll think about it later.
"Of course!" Dita nodded. She couldn't believe she was going to sleep under the same roof as her idol, Yami! Dita was fantasizing that her room was next to Yami's, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The reason? Yami's room was next to Lala's, followed by Momo's and Nana's, while Dita's was at the end of the hallway, next to the bathroom door.
"Well, at least I managed to live in the same house," Dita sighed once in bed. She was a little disappointed that her room wasn't next to her idol's, but… at least she was in the same house.
"Okay, I've achieved my first goal, now let's move on to the next one…" Dita said. But just as she was about to think about her next objective, there was a knock on the door.
"Yes?" Dita asked.
"It's Momo. Can I come in? I need to discuss a few things with you, but don't worry, it won't take long," Momo said.
Dita surprised after this.
