"What's wrong grandma? Why did you suddenly asked such a question?" Logan asked with a suspicious gaze.
He thought he warned his father not to cause problems for him. So what has that old man done again to influence grandfather's decision?
"Your father and mother went in to check in on Hannah since the surgery was already done. On getting in, I didn't know what your parents discussed and your father stepped out to call your grandfather and tell him something, and on getting back, your grandfather who fixed your marriage with her said he wanta his son to do a background check on her again. And your father agreed. " Grandma Emerson said with gritted teeth.
"You see why I called her a bad luck in the first place and yet you ate yelling at everyone to respect your so called wife. It is better you divorce her and get married to who I chose for you and be happy". Grandma Emerson spat angrily.
"No. Where is mum and dad now and grandpa?" He asked and walked towards the ward where his wife is and pushed the door open.
He walked inside the ward and saw his mother smiling and talking to Hannah. She was finally awake? !
"Mother, Hannah you are awake ". Hannah slowly turned to look at her husband and nodded her head meekly. Since the time she woke up, Mrs Emerson hasn't stopped feeding some sliced apples.
"My beautiful daughter in law is awake and now I'm happy. I will leave you both alone." She said, standing up from her sit and went towards Hannah, and pecked her forehead.
After doing that, she pulled away and smiled at her and was ready to leave when Hannah spoke in a bare audible voice.
"Can I call you mother then?"
Mrs Emerson paused on her steps and looked sideways to her.
"Yes. I'm not just your mother in law, but your mother from now henceforth". She said with an emotional smile and Hannah mouthed thank you to her.
Mrs Emerson nodded slowly and stepped out of the ward to give the couple some private time.
Hannah slowly fluttered her lashes as she looked down. Her heart was slowly racing in her chest.
Logan watched he for a long while, taking slow unhurried steps towards her sas though if he moved in a fats motion,he might scare her and make her have a panic attack.
He kept walking slowly towards her and suddenly paused in front of her bed.
Hannah gulped softly as she tried her best to remain calm but her heat rate didn't stop, it skyrocketed to the highest level of rate.
"Thank you for staying alive Hannah. I was actually scared cause I thought I was going to lose you because you had a mini panic attack." He said with a concern written all over his face. The once heartless monstrous CEO who was feared by all was suddenly looking vulnerable right in front of his timid wife.
Hannah felt her heart skip a beat at his confession.
"Was this part of his tricks, or was he being serious?" she wondered, slowly stretching out her hand as though she wanted to hold his.
Logan sat on the empty chair beside her bed and took her hand in his, intertwining their fingers.
Hannah stared at their joined hands, and her heart began to race uncontrollably in her chest.
"I want us to make a promise to each other, Hannah." His voice was softer than usual. "I know I've hurt you in the past. I bullied you and punished you over the slightest things. I made this relationship so strict because it was nothing more than a contract marriage."
He paused, his thumb gently brushing over the back of her hand.
"But those five contract rules I made for our marriage will change. I don't want us to continue living like strangers bound by a contract."
He looked into her sky blue eyes that was glimmering with unshed tears.
"I want us to start afresh. A new beginning… for both of us." He said and slowly wiped the single tear that rolled down her cheek.
Hannah was stunned and silent for a while and didn't know what to say. She was still so awestruck by this new unexpected revelation.
"Oh no, what was happening?" She thought with her sky blue eyes roaming the room but avoiding direct contact with him.
Logan didn't say anything and kept rubbing his thumb on their entwined fingers.
Hannah felt shivers down her spine with the way he kept rubbing their joined hands together and she slowly turned to look at him.
"I promise. We will start afresh and a new beginning". She finally said with a mustered up courage and Logan slowly brought there joined hands together and kissed it.
Hannah closed her eyes slowly, feeling his warm soft lips on her hand.
"Go to sleep". He said and Hannah nodded her head slowly before she closed her eyes and succumbed to sleep while Logan stared at her for a while before letting go of her hand. He remained seated there for a hike before standing up and leaving the ward.
At the same time, in the Bills Mansion,
Sophie had locked the door of her room. Ever since her father and mother told her the truth. She had become so depressed and stressed. So all these years, Logan and her marriage had been fixed since they were children?
"If that's the case then, she won't let Logan enjoy his marriage with that nobody. She will make Logan know that she was his childhood fiancée and still is." She thought as she stood up from her bed and walked towards the mirror. So the day she had met carie for the first time, she had not only wanted to know her. She wanted to get close to Logan, not knowing he was actually her childhood fiancée. She had a wide grin on her face as she kept staring at herself in the mirror.
