"Thane please I can explain!!", Harley ran after the departing Thane and clutched onto his jacket only to be shoved away roughly to the ground.
"Don't you dare touch me you filthy woman", he roared angrily, his jaw clenching in fury as he stared her down, "You have disgraced me and this pack today and I'll make sure you regret it".
"Please don't do this,it wasn't my fault! I'm still your chosen mate!", I said getting off the floor and trying to hold his hand but he sidestepped her, "Mate my ass! You have no right to say that anymore you shameless whore!"
"You know me well enough, I'd never do anything to hurt you, to hurt us I-"
" Then who's bastard are you carrying?", he cut her off almost immediately. She paused not knowing what to say, the story to embarrassing and harrowing to even think about as she swore never to recall it. Thane had taken her silence the wrong way and scoffed, "Are you trying to protect him now?"
" No!.. I just can't say the reason right now, not in front of these people", she said quietly, "But you have to believe me, I wouldn't cheat on you Thane", she gently held his hand only to be pushed away again.
"Don't touch me",he said aggressively and looked like he'd hit her. "I can't do this anymore Harley"
"W-what? What do you mean? Thane no...", before she could finish he cut her off again, "For not giving face to me or the pack, I Thane Grayson and acting Alpha here by banish you Harley Bane, a high ranking official from the Luna Pack. You are not to show yourself here or in the surrounding territory. You are to be gone by dusk!"
Immediately after saying that, he had stormed off from the grounds where the sacred mate binding ceremony was held. She stood there in the centre of the crowd with a headache and an aching heart, she ignored all the stares murmurs directed at her. She felt her world falling apart all at once.
She and Thane had always been together, inseparable even. If not for that faithful day...
Her thoughts were interrupted by a shrill laugh that came from the crowd, she followed the sound and her voice landed on Jessica Harvey. A girl she didn't get along with at all, it was better to say that rubbing one's skin with sand paper was more tolerable than having these two females in the same room.
"What's so funny?", Harley gave her a cold look, she wasn't in the mood right now to entertain her. Jessica just smirked and walked up to her, "It's just that... I'm so happy!", she laughed a bit more just to spite Harley before getting to the main point. "How are you enjoying my little surprise?"
"What the hell are you talking about?", Harley could help but catch on to her words.
"isn't it obvious?", Jessica continued to smile at her. By now, everyone that had been watching the spectacle from earlier were mostly gone to find their own mates and weren't paying attention to the two any longer. "i'm talking about the bastard in your womb"
The words stunned Harley to silence, her jaw clenching and her knuckles turning white from the pressure. before Jessica could spout more rubbish, Harley had already pinned her to the floor, her left hand threatened to squeeze the life out of her. Harley was of course a powerful wolf and was a former candidate for the position of the pack's Luna, she was basically the strongest she-wolf in the pack and Jessica stood no chance.
"Now tell me if you were responsible for what happened to me", Her onyx eyes shone brightly as she used her influence skill on Jessica, she had no choice but to oblige. "...Yes. I did it... I...", before she could say more, Harley was flung away from Jessica with so much force that she had hit her head on the rough ground, her white dress getting ruined from the dirt and blood that dripped down her forehead.
"You dare touch a member of my pack?", Thane's voice boomed, his aura suppressing all weaker wolves of the pack. Harley's strength was on par with thane's so she wasn't compelled to bow to him. Harley clenched her jaw in anger, her gaze focused squarely on Jessica. Thane saw where she was looking and blocked her view, "You won't dare"
"She is the devil! She did this to me, she ruined everything!", Harley screamed as she looked ready to pounce at any moment. "Thane don't believe her, she-"
"Enough!", He caught the two lady's off then turned to Harley who was still glaring coldly at Jessica. "I tried to be nice by giving you enough time to leave but it seems your'e not not grateful. I want you gone in three hours. Not a second more"
"Thane please don't do this, you will regret this someday", her words only received a scoff of disdain from Thane, she could see it in his eyes. the disgust he now had for her. This broke her heart, all the years they've been together, the memories shared, all of it now gone. hate began welling up in the spot of her heart where Love had once been, hate for Jessica, for Thane who threw everything they had away, for herself who let it get to this point and for the bastard growing inside of her.
She steadied herself on her feet and limped towards her home, she took a shower and grabbed her essentials like clothing, basic needs and all the money she had. She put everything in a suitcase, left her childhood home and the pack she had known for her. turning her back on everything she ever knew and left.
Thane who watch her depart from the central tower felt like a part of him was also leaving with her, he clenched the his shirt at his chest as he clenched his teeth, he wanted to stop her but he couldn't forgive the betrayal.
