Chapter 302: The Balance of Power Begins to Shift (Part 1)
After an exhilarating sparring session with his wives, Ye Wen felt a sense of satisfaction, though it left him in a somewhat contemplative state. With a quiet reminder to himself, he refocused on the tasks ahead, recognizing that, as a newly ascended God King, he had yet to reach the God King's pinnacle. Achieving that would require dedication and time, but he was well aware that with the other four God Kings still present, stirring up trouble now was far from prudent.
Now that he understood the principles of achieving God King status, Ye Wen turned to Bibi Dong and Qian Xue to guide them, hoping they could also break through this level.
He began with Bibi Dong. Though the title of "Rakshasa God" wasn't self explanatory, both Ye Wen and Bibi Dong understood that, at its core, her domain involved the negative thoughts and emotions of all sentient beings. Throughout her ascent, Bibi Dong had carefully studied, harnessed, and ultimately controlled these negative forces to reach the peak of a First Level god. Yet each time she attempted to merge with the Dao, she encountered a sense of rejection much like his own earlier struggles a clear sign that her approach had a fundamental flaw.
After much reflection, Ye Wen realized that both he and Bibi Dong had misunderstood the essence of negative thoughts, confining her to a narrow view of "malice" or "evil." Instead, such feelings represented a broader array of desires, emotions, and ambitions. Good and evil were constructs defined by mortals; Bibi Dong's role as a Rakshasa was far more comprehensive.
"Dong'er, don't get caught up in the notion of 'evil thoughts.' Expand your perspective to encompass the full spectrum of human emotions and desires. When you reach a deeper understanding, that might be the key to your breakthrough as a God King," Ye Wen suggested seriously.
Bibi Dong considered this and found it made sense; the concept of emotions she had relied upon no longer applied to her at this level. She had to discard this self imposed boundary. The true essence of a Rakshasa God wasn't simply malice; it was the god of all desire and emotion.
Bibi Dong would need time and experience, so Ye Wen moved to discuss with Qian Xue, his other wife. In their private life, Qian Xue was uninhibited and unrestrained. Outwardly, she presented herself as a serene angel, sometimes joining forces with her twin to take on challenges, creating a unique dynamic. Now, having fully absorbed the previous Angel God's legacy, Qian Xue had reached her peak.
Although her angelic bloodline had advanced considerably, she still found herself unable to break through to the level of a God King, as though something essential was missing.
The Angel God's domain was multifaceted, encompassing authority over light, flame, justice, judgment, and more. This diverse array of divine powers, while complex, made her a formidable presence within the Divine Realm, and with Ye Wen's assistance, her Holy Angel Sword had evolved into a super artifact. Though she held only the lowest rung of God King combat power, she could still rank among the top ten Divine Realm fighters a remarkable feat.
However, precisely because Qian Xue's divine domains were so varied, she found it difficult to identify the primary thread that would allow her to reach the God King level. At a loss, she turned to Ye Wen, her eyes full of hopeful anticipation. To her, he was an omniscient figure capable of solving her every quandary.
If Ye Wen had known what Qian Xue thought of him, he would've laughed and said, "You give me way too much credit. I just know a bit more than others."
Godhoods containing multiple domains weren't unheard of; Dragon God was the perfect example. As a Creator God, Dragon God's godhood held at least two major principles: creation and destruction. After his defeat at the hands of the Shura God, these two aspects split into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King, each embodying destruction and creation, respectively. The Shura God himself was also a multi domain deity, with the domains of slaughter and judgment, as Ye Wen had gathered from Dao Ba.
But Ye Wen wasn't only interested in the variety within godhoods; he pondered the clear hierarchy within them. Each godhood contained the distilled insights of its former holder, enabling successors to replicate their breakthroughs. Dao Ba, for instance, had a direct pathway to eventually attain Shura God King status by following this route.
In Shura God's case, his breakthrough involved merging the domains of judgment and slaughter into a single principle a tyrannical, supreme law in which any violation led to his enhanced power and ultimate retribution.
This brought Ye Wen back to the question of how Qian Xue might achieve her breakthrough.
Unlike Shura God, however, Qian Xue's numerous divine principles made it difficult to identify a common thread to unite her powers. Reflecting deeply, a sudden flash of inspiration struck Ye Wen.
"Qian Xue, do you know the origin of the Angel Spirit?" he asked.
His question left Qian Xue momentarily stunned. Although she held the memories of the previous Angel God, she realized she had no knowledge of its true origin.武魂 itself, as a unique cultivation system, had emerged only after the Divine Realm's intervention in the Mortal Realm.
The original Angel God came from humble beginnings, rising through sheer determination to the Super Douluo level. There, they found enlightenment and created their Angel Spirit, viewing themselves as a heavenly messenger bringing peace to humankind. Even upon ascension, the Angel God couldn't explain their Spirit's origins, instead, reinforcing their conviction as a divine emissary.
Under Ye Wen's guidance, Qian Xue now understood the true origin of Spirits in the Mortal Realm, stripping away the once naive belief in a higher calling.
Had she still held to that naïve concept, she might have "died of embarrassment" when recounting her past convictions within her family.
