Chapter 42 - The Gorgon's Curse

Bell's unconscious body lay still, his mind wandering into an eerie dreamscape. He found himself in a master bedroom, far more lavish than any he'd ever seen. Rich crimson drapes adorned the windows, and the room's ornate furniture gleamed with gold accents. Yet, despite its splendor, a sense of dread clung to every corner.

He walked to the door and twisted the knob, but it refused to budge. Panic began to set in. Every exit he tried was sealed shut, and he felt the walls closing in on him.

"Lost, little rabbit?" A voice slithered through the air, sending chills down his spine.

Bell turned sharply to find Medusa lounging on a velvet chaise. She looked almost human—breathtakingly beautiful with her flowing dark hair and piercing eyes—but her aura reeked of malice. The crown of branches intertwined with a snake sat proudly atop her head, a constant reminder of her true nature.

"Medusa," Bell spat her name, fists clenching.

She laughed softly, rising gracefully from her seat. "Hello Bell. Destiny has brought us together once again, it appears."

"Why are you doing this?" Bell declared, though his voice wavered slightly.

"This is just simple revenge."

"Revenge?"

"Yes. Against all of you. You turned your back on me."

"I can't let you do this. I have to put a stop to this madness."

Medusa's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Oh, Bell. Just wait until you hear what yours truly has been up to this time." She took a step closer, the room's atmosphere thickening with her presence. "I know all about the Dark Flame that burns in the Sword Princess's heart. It is so beautiful. What if I told you that I poured fuel on that flame?"

"What do you mean?" Bell demanded, a knot forming in his stomach.

"I've been slowly poisoning all of you," she revealed with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "Gradually contaminating the Dungeon's water and food with my venom."

Bell's breath caught in his throat, and his pulse quickened as his worst fears were realized.

"The Sword Princess has such a simple mind thus, it was also child's play to manipulate her emotions. I tapped into that Dark Flame of hers, causing her to hate you for reasons she doesn't even understand."

"Why Ais...?" Bell's voice cracked as he trailed off. He couldn't believe his ears. How could Medusa possibly know these things?

"The hatred and contempt for you that has festered inside her—they are completely genuine, of course," she added sweetly. "It appears she feels betrayed by both you and Ljos Alf. Really, she can't be blamed for hating you. After all, I do too."

"Y-You can't know that. T-There's n-n-no way you can know that!!" Bell hollered, hopelessly trying to deny the words of the Dark Mother.

"After poisoning her in both body and mind, I couldn't believe my luck. It was so easy to infiltrate her thoughts and craft my own into hers. I looked deep into her mind and saw all of her secrets, and she was so easy to corrupt and draw into the darkness. If only you knew the truth about the darkness that dwells within her, Bell, it would break your heart."

Medusa's words weighed heavily upon his conscience. Was it true? Did Ais hate him for real? Bell fought the tears welling up in his eyes.

"Even now, her Dark Flame rages stronger than ever, so much so that she turned on those closest to her. I thank you, Bell, for breaking her heart, for you have done more damage than I ever could dream of and allowed me to fashion her into the ultimate weapon against you."

A tear slid down Bell's cheek as he shook with rage. "Why… why do this? Why hurt others who've done nothing to you?"

Medusa sighed and sat back down. "Things didn't exactly go as I planned. I intended that she would kill your unborn child inside Ljos Alf's womb, but you happened to get in the way. Your child will never be born, mark my words."

Bell's blood ran cold, his mind struggling to comprehend Medusa's words. "My child..."

"Yes, Bell, your child. A child that you will never know, whose existence should not be, and never will be."

He shook his head, tears streaking down his cheeks as he dropped to his knees. He'd heard enough.

Medusa took another step forward, her hair beginning to undulate around her.

"It's so adorable watching you wallow in despair. So fragile and alone."

"Please, stop…. I'm begging you…" Bell whispered.

"Come now, Bell. Surely you realize how feeble humans are and how easy it is to tap into their lust for power. Even one as pure as you have a darkness concealed within your heart. All it takes is a small push, and it can all come crashing down."

Bell could feel the panic rising in his chest. "No… No! This isn't happening!" he cried, trying desperately to deny the truth in her words.

Medusa's shrill laughter grated Bell's ears. "And Loki Familia... one by one, they will all fall to my venom. Wallenstein is simply the first. And the results were far more gratifying than even I could imagine."

"Every sip you take, every bite you swallow... you're all inching closer to your doom." Her grin widened to the point that her face was no longer human.

Bell's legs buckled, and he fell to his knees. "Ais... everyone..." He clutched his head, hot tears streaming down his cheeks. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."

"This is far too easy," Medusa mused, walking over to Bell and stooping down to his eye level. "The moment you set foot into this realm of mine, you lost. Everything here is under my control. I hold your fate in my hands."

She grabbed his chin, forcing him to meet her eyes. "This is where you belong now, Bell. I mark you as mine for all eternity. Your body will never forget my venom."

He felt as if the ground beneath him was giving way. The faces of his friends flashed before him—Riveria, Ais, Lefiya—all unknowingly falling into Medusa's trap.

Medusa's laughter echoed through the room like shards of glass. "You already have." her true nature.

"Medusa," Bell spat her name, fists clenching.

"Goodbye for now, Bell," she purred, releasing her hold on him. "You know how to find me."

Medusa turned her back on Bell, swishing her gown, and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Bell struggled to his feet and ran to the door, banging his fists against it as he shouted. "Medusa! Come back here and face me, you coward!"

His voice drowned in the heavy silence that followed.

He let his arms drop to his sides. His body felt weak as if he'd lost all will to fight. He slid down the door and sat on the floor, staring blankly at the bed where Medusa had just been moments before.

He couldn't help but wonder if it was all just an illusion. But it was no use. He was trapped, and Medusa held all the cards.

Bell buried his face in his hands, wishing for nothing more than to be swallowed by the darkness.

"Bell..." He heard a warm, sweet, motherly voice calling to him in the darkness.

"What was that?" He said.

"Bell…" He heard it again.

"Am I going mad?" He said to himself.

"Bell!" The voice spoke again, this time more forcefully.

"I'm hearing voices in my head. I don't know what's real anymore!"

"Oh, don't give me that, Bell Cranel! Pull yourself together!"

"Riveria?" he mumbled.

"Yes, it is I," she replied.

"How did you find this place?" He asked.

"I'm right by your side," she said. "You looked like you were in pain, so I called out to you."

"Right by my side?"

"The place you're in now isn't real. You're actually unconscious on a stretcher right now."

"You mean… this is a dream?"

"Bell, don't give into despair." She said. "Think of your child. Our child."

"I can't… Riviera, I just can't! I'm useless!"

"Bell, find your way back to the light..." Riviera's voice whispered soothingly. "I'm waiting for you to come back to me."

Those words really hit home. He remembered Riveria, their unborn child, and all of the happy memories they had together. His beloved wife, Riveria, believed in him and was awaiting him.

He felt a strange sense of calm wash over him as if he'd heard the words before. The despair that had enveloped him only moments ago began to fade.

"You mustn't let your fear consume you," Riveria's voice continued. "Wake up!"

Riveria's powerful voice drew Bell in. He felt himself drifting, floating in the air to a shimmering light in the sky as the room around him began to dissipate—like it was all an illusion. He was enveloped in the light and, for a brief moment, ceased to exist.

Bell slowly blinked his eyelids open, feeling the weight of exhaustion in every ragged breath. It was as if he had been running for miles, each inhalation filled with an unspoken terror. As he came to, he realized that it was all just a dream—a terrible, heart-stopping nightmare. His mind reeled at the vividness of it. Medusa had infiltrated his thoughts and invaded his dreams, leaving him shaken to the core.

He felt a damp cloth on his forehead and a soothing presence beside him. Amid, the healer, leaned over him, her eyes filled with concern.

"Bell!" Riveria's voice greeted his ears as he opened his eyes.

"You're awake," she sighed in relief, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Uhhh…. Where am I?" Bell asked.

"At a makeshift infirmary," she replied.

Bell began to weep uncontrollably. Then, he suddenly felt a soft piece of fabric with a familiar scent on his face.

"There. You like these, don't you? Will you stop feeling sorry for yourself now?" Riviera said warmly but sternly.

Bell picked up the fabric that fell on his face. It was a pair of Riveria's dirty underwear.

"Eeeeeehhhhh????!"

He panicked and flung them across the room, landing on Amid's head.

"S-sorry…" He said.

"So you should be!" Amid sneered, picking up the briefs off her head and handing them back to Riveria.

"What happened?" Bell asked groggily.

Bell's face went pale at the memory. "Ais..." he breathed. "Where is she?"

"You must save your strength," Riveria answered gently. "It's best that you stay here and recover."

Bell shook his head. "I need to see her."

He could still hear her voice ringing in his head.

"Did Ais did this?" Bell said weakly.

Riveria didn't reply. Instead, she stood up and left the room, leaving him alone with Amid.

"Is... Is Ais okay?"

Amid looked down at him with pity.

Bell winced as the memories came rushing back. "How long was I out?"

"Just a few hours," Amid replied. "You sustained some serious injuries, but you're lucky to be alive."

Bell tried to sit up but felt a sharp pain in his side. He winced, clutching his abdomen. His mind raced back to the twisted dream—or was it a vision?—of Medusa.

"Medusa," he croaked, his voice barely audible.

Amid frowned. "What about her?"

Bell's eyes widened as the urgency of his nightmare flooded back. "She... she's poisoning us! Medusa has been contaminating the Dungeon's water and food with her venom!"

The room fell silent. His companions gathered around him, their faces a mix of shock and disbelief. Finn stepped forward, his usually composed demeanor replaced by worry.

"Are you certain of this?" he asked, his tone deadly serious.

"Y-yes!" Bell stammered, struggling to sit up. "I don't know how, but I know it's true. She told me herself. She's been manipulating us, especially Ais. She's turning us against each other."

Finn furrowed his brow. "I see..."

"What are we going to do?" Riveria asked, her voice laced with concern.

Finn looked at her gravely. "We have no choice but to cut our expedition short. We'll make our way back to the surface as soon as possible and return to the city for reinforcements."

"But what about Ais?" Bell asked. His gaze darted around the room, scanning for the familiar figure of the Sword Princess. "Where is Ais?"

Lefiya looked around nervously. "I... I haven't seen her since she attacked you..."

"It's all my fault," Bell murmured.

"No, it isn't," Finn interjected. "You mustn't blame yourself. There is nothing you could have done."

Tiona's fists clenched at her sides, anger flaring in her eyes. "She was just here! How could she vanish without anyone noticing?"

Finn placed a hand on Bell's shoulder, trying to calm him down. "We'll find her. But first, we need to confirm what you said about the poison."

Asfi adjusted her glasses, already considering the logistics. "We'll need to test our supplies immediately."

Haruhime nodded in agreement, her eyes wide with fear but resolute. "I can assist with that."

Amid looked at Bell once more, her brow furrowed with concern. "You need to rest."

"I can't rest," Bell insisted, struggling to rise despite Amid's protests. "Not until we know everyone is safe."

Riveria approached them, placing a gentle hand on Bell's shoulder to steady him. Her presence brought a sense of calm amidst the chaos.

"We'll handle it," she assured him softly but firmly.

Bell nodded reluctantly but couldn't shake off the dread gnawing at him. "Please… find Ais."

Bell Cranel, still recovering from his injuries, couldn't shake the nagging feeling of dread. Amid's insistence on his rest fell on deaf ears as his thoughts were consumed by Ais's absence. He couldn't forget the anguish in her eyes when she had accidentally wounded him.

Alone.

That was how she felt.

She had always been alone. It was all she knew and the way she was supposed to be.

Her only companion was her own inner voice.

Ais Wallenstein sat alone in a secluded part of the camp, her back against a rough tree trunk. The weight of her actions pressed down on her chest like an iron vice. Her sword lay discarded beside her, a symbol of her failure. The guilt gnawed at her insides, turning every breath into a painful reminder.

She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms. "How could I have done that?" she whispered to herself, tears stinging the corners of her eyes.

Flashbacks flooded her mind—moments with Bell that now seemed tainted by her betrayal. She remembered the first time she had saved him from the Minotaur, his eyes filled with awe and gratitude. She had felt an unexpected warmth in her chest then, something she had never felt before.

Another memory surfaced: their training sessions where Bell's determination and progress had impressed her. His laughter, his earnestness—they had been a light in the darkness of her existence.

And then, the night he confessed his feelings for Riveria. Ais had tried to be happy for him, but jealousy and confusion had twisted inside her. She had buried those feelings deep, hoping they would fade away.

But they hadn't. Instead, they festered, fueled by Medusa's insidious influence.

Ais hugged her knees to her chest, rocking slightly as she struggled to contain the turmoil within. "I betrayed him," she muttered, voice breaking. "I hurt him when he trusted me the most."

The memory of Bell's blood on her hands replayed over and over in her mind, a gruesome loop that she couldn't escape from. His pained expression haunted her every thought.

She was consumed by self-loathing. The Sword Princess, who prided herself on strength and control, now felt powerless and broken.

"Ais!" Tiona's voice called out from somewhere in the distance, filled with worry.

Ais stiffened but didn't respond. She couldn't face them—not after what she'd done.

Another flashback: Bell's face illuminated by the glow of their campfire one night as he spoke about his dreams and aspirations. He had looked at her with such admiration that it made her heart ache now to remember it.

Ais buried her face in her arms, unable to stop the tears that flowed freely now. She felt utterly lost—trapped between who she was supposed to be and what she had become under Medusa's dark influence.

In this moment of despair, isolation was both a punishment and a sanctuary—a place where she could grapple with the enormity of what she'd done without having to see the disappointment in their eyes.

Ais couldn't take it anymore. She could feel herself slipping into darkness, and she knew that she wouldn't be able to come back from it. She couldn't bear to look at the others, to face the shame and disappointment in their eyes.

She gripped her sword, its blade gleaming in the moonlight. She thought of Bell, of how he must despise her now. She pictured his face and his beautiful eyes, which had once held such warmth for her.

She raised the sword above her head, trembling with fear. She couldn't stand the pain anymore. She couldn't bear the weight of the guilt.

She took a deep breath, feeling the cool metal against her neck. She closed her eyes, ready to end it all.

But before she could bring the blade down, a strong hand grabbed her arm, stopping her mid-swing.

"Don't do it," Riveria's voice spoke calmly behind her, her grip firm but gentle. "We need you here."

Ais's shoulders slumped in defeat, and she let the sword clatter to the ground. Riveria turned her around to face her, her expression a mix of concern and sadness.

"We can help you, Ais," she said quietly.

Ais's body shook with sobs as she finally let go of the emotions she had been holding in.

"I thought I could protect him, but all I did was cause pain. I'm so sorry, Bell... Riveria... everyone... I don't deserve to be here."

Riveria held her close, enveloping her in his arms. "It's going to be okay," she whispered soothingly. "I promise."

The warmth of Riveria's embrace gave Ais a glimmer of hope that she could still find redemption.

Ais wiped the tears from her eyes, her expression set with determination. "I want to make this right. I need to find Bell and tell him how sorry I am."

Riveria nodded, her lips curling into a small smile.

"He's already forgiven you. I've forgiven you, too. I hope you can forgive me in turn. This all happened because of my selfishness. I am a shameless homewrecker. Bell Cranel was your destined life partner, but because I got involved with him too, it resulted in disaster."

Ais blinked in surprise, her eyes widening. "You're wrong! It wasn't your fault. I made that choice on my own. I should have been stronger. I should have resisted the temptation."

"This all happened because I got close to Bell Cranel. I never intended to get involved with him, but it seemed the gods had other plans. And lo and behold, I ended up being his wife and carrying his child."

Ais's expression softened, her voice barely audible. "Bell... he's my destiny. I've known it for a while now, but I didn't want to accept it. I was afraid that if I did, I would lose sight of my goal."

"And I was afraid if I ever got close to him, it would mean losing you."

Ais looked down at her hands, suddenly realizing how much she'd missed holding Bell's. The memory of his touch sent a pang of longing through her.

"I understand now. He's part of my family—our family." Ais looked up at Riveria with pleading eyes. "I know you don't approve, but please trust me when I say that I love him."

Riveria sighed, her gaze softening. "So do I, Ais. So do I. I don't regret getting close to him. Not even for a second."

"I'm so sorry, Riveria. I know you must hate me for hurting Bell. I'm ashamed of myself for causing so much pain to someone so precious to us both."

"I could never hate you, Ais." Riveria placed her hands on Ais's shoulders, meeting her eyes with a reassuring gaze. "Ais, what if I told you that you had been manipulated? Would you believe me?"

Ais's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean?"

"Ais, you were being poisoned. Medusa has been contaminating our food and water supplies with her venom. You weren't in control of your actions."

"No... I don't believe it." Ais shook her head, unwilling to accept what Riveria was telling her.

"It's true," Riveria insisted, her voice firm but gentle. "Medusa targets the darkness in our hearts. She exploits our selfish desires for her own ends and uses them to make us her slaves. Medusa's venom is not just one of the body but of the mind. It can drive you mad if you let it."

Ais's heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to process this new information. "I... I hurt him," she said, her voice trembling. "How can I ever make it right?"

"I'm so sorry, Ais. This is all my fault. I should have been more vigilant. I should have protected you." Riveria's voice trembled with guilt and sorrow.

Ais shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. "No... none of this is your fault. It's mine. I was weak, so I let her in. I'm the one who should be sorry."

"This is the fault of only one individual: Medusa." Riveria's tone was sharp and resolute, leaving no room for doubt. "And she was probably having a field day watching us fight amongst ourselves. But she miscalculated and gloated to what she had done to Bell."

Ais clenched her fists, a fierce determination burning in her eyes. "I swear that I will get revenge for this, Riveria. I will make her pay."

Riveria nodded, her expression hardening. "We will. Together. We'll make sure she never hurts anyone again."

"I just don't understand how one could be so evil," Ais whispered, her voice breaking. "How could Medusa be so cruel? How could she do such horrible things to people who never did anything to her?"

"She is an abomination, and her soul is blackened by hatred. She tortured Bell and me in the twisted Labyrinth she created. She wanted to make me feel the same pain she felt when she was cast out by her own kind. She wants to break us, so we are no longer fit to serve as a threat to her. But we cannot give up. We must not give in to despair." Riveria placed a reassuring hand on Ais's shoulder. "We must face this challenge together, as a family. You, me, Bell, and our child."

"Riveria, I love you." Ais leaned into her, hugging her tightly.

"I love you too, Ais. Always."

The two women embraced, their shared tears of sadness and relief mingling together as they sought comfort in each other's arms.

"I don't want to end up like Medusa. Riveria, please save me from the black flame."

Riveria stroked Ais's hair gently, soothing her. "I promise. I'll always be here for you, Ais. I'll never leave you."

"You're my light, Riveria. You keep me from falling into darkness. I can't do this without you."

"You won't have to," Riveria assured her, her voice filled with conviction. "We'll face this challenge together, and we'll win. We have to."

Riveria and Ais lingered in the moment, drawing strength from each other's presence as they prepared for what was to come. They had many obstacles in their path ahead—a monster bent on destruction, an expedition on the verge of collapse—but they were ready to overcome them together. They were ready to face their destiny and fight for the ones they loved.

---

Bell Cranel watched Ais as she sat alone, the flickering campfire casting shadows on her face. Her eyes were distant, lost in a sea of memories. He could see the turmoil in her expression, a storm of emotions that she struggled to contain. He wanted to reach out, to comfort her, but he knew that she needed this moment to herself.

Ais's memories of the past few days came flooding back, each one a dagger to her heart. She remembered the first time Medusa's whispers had slithered into her mind, insidious and relentless. They had crept in when she was at her most vulnerable, exploiting her deepest insecurities.

"You'll never be good enough for him," Medusa's voice had hissed in her ear. "He'll always choose someone else over you."

Ais had tried to shake off the words, but they had taken root, feeding on her fears. Every glance Bell gave to another woman felt like a confirmation of Medusa's poison. The jealousy she had kept buried for so long began to surface, turning into a corrosive force that ate away at her resolve.

She remembered watching Bell with Riveria, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. The sight of them together had been like a knife twisting in her gut. Medusa's whispers grew louder, more persistent.

"See how he looks at her? You'll never have that."

Ais had tried to ignore it, but the doubt gnawed at her relentlessly. She began to question everything—her worth as a warrior, her place in the Loki Familia, and most painfully, Bell's feelings for her.

Then came the night of the attack. Ais remembered how Medusa's venom had coursed through her veins, amplifying every dark thought and emotion. She had felt like a puppet on strings, powerless to resist the compulsion driving her actions.

"You are nothing but a sword," Medusa had taunted as Ais stood over Bell's prone form. "And a sword that loses its edge is worse than useless."

Ais had wanted to scream, but Medusa's venom had robbed her of her voice. She had felt Medusa's presence in her mind, a shadowy force that threatened to consume her.

In that moment of madness, she had struck out in blind rage and despair. The horror of what she had done hit her like a tidal wave as soon as Bell's blood splattered onto the ground.

Now, sitting by the fire, Ais was consumed by regret and self-loathing. She saw herself through Medusa's eyes—a failure unworthy of love or redemption.

Bell couldn't stand it any longer. He moved closer and knelt beside Ais. "Ais," he whispered softly.

She looked up at him, tears glistening in her eyes. "Bell... I'm so sorry."

"I know," he replied gently. "And it's not your fault."

"But I hurt you... I could have killed you." Ais's voice trembled as she struggled to contain the emotions that threatened to overwhelm her.

Bell reached out and took her hands in his, his eyes filled with understanding and compassion. "I don't hold you responsible for what happened."

Ais looked away, unable to meet his gaze. "You don't hate me?" she whispered.

Bell smiled sadly, his thumb rubbing small circles on Ais's knuckles. "I could never hate you, Ais."

Ais felt her resolve crumbling under the weight of Bell's forgiveness. She let out a sob, burying her face in her hands as the tears flowed freely.

"I'm sorry," she cried, her shoulders shaking with each ragged breath. "I'm so sorry, Bell..."

Bell pulled her into his arms, holding her close as she wept. "It's okay," he murmured softly, stroking her hair soothingly. "It's okay, Ais."

As the tears subsided, Ais slowly regained her composure. She looked up at Bell, her eyes shining with a mixture of gratitude and relief. "Thank you," she whispered hoarsely.

"I meant what I said," Bell replied, his expression filled with warmth and sincerity. "I'll always forgive you, Ais. No matter what happens."

Ais clung to Bell tightly, grateful for his forgiveness and his unconditional love. "I don't deserve you," she murmured.

Bell smiled, resting his chin on the top of her head. "Yes, you do," he countered firmly. "You deserve every bit of happiness in the world."

They stayed like that for a while, lost in the warmth of each other's embrace. At that moment, Ais felt a sense of peace that she hadn't experienced in a long time.

"Bell Cranel," Amid called out from nearby, her voice a welcome interruption. "You're needed elsewhere."

Bell and Ais reluctantly broke apart and stood up. Bell brushed the dust off his clothes as he straightened. He took Ais's hand in his and squeezed it gently before letting go.

"I have to go now," he said, offering her a reassuring smile.

Ais nodded, feeling renewed determination in her heart. "Please take good care of Riveria."

"I will." Bell smiled, his eyes filled with a renewed sparkle as he met Ais's gaze once more. "And I'll see you soon."

They embraced once more, holding on to each other for just a little longer before they parted ways once again.

Ais watched Bell leave, her heart swelling with gratitude and admiration.

"The pregnancy test on Riveria will begin shortly," Amid said, breaking the silence. "She has requested your presence, Bell Cranel."

Bell nodded resolutely and followed Amid to where Riveria waited. He knew that they still had a long road ahead of them, but he also knew that they would face it together—as a family.

---

Bell Cranel watched anxiously as Amid carefully conducted the pregnancy test on Riveria. The healer's hands moved with practiced precision, her face a mask of calm professionalism. Riveria lay on a makeshift bed, her expression serene but her eyes betraying a flicker of nervousness.

Bell's heart pounded in his chest. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on him. Amid's concentration was palpable, and Bell found himself holding his breath, waiting for her to speak.

Amid finally looked up from her work, meeting Riveria's gaze. "Riveria," she said softly, "I can confirm that you are in the earliest stages o

The words hung in the air like a thunderclap. Bell felt a rush of emotions—relief, joy, fear—all swirling together in a chaotic storm. He reached for Riveria's hand, squeezing it gently.

Riveria's eyes widened slightly, her composure momentarily slipping as she processed Amid's words. After a moment, she gave Bell's hand a reassuring squeeze in return, her expression settling into one of serenity.

Bell felt a flood of warmth wash over him. He leaned down and kissed Riveria's forehead tenderly before pulling her into his arms.

"Riveria, did you have sexual intercourse with Bell Cranel?" Amid asked.

Riveria blushed deeply at the healer's directness but nodded slowly. "Yes, I did."

"The test has confirmed it, then," Amid said gently. "You are pregnant with his child. But it's very early. We'll need to monitor your health closely to ensure everything progresses smoothly."

Bell felt a surge of protectiveness wash over him. He looked at Riveria, seeing the uncertainty in her eyes mingled with an undeniable glimmer of hope.

"Riveria," he whispered, cradling her face in his hands. "We're going to have a baby."

A smile broke out on Riveria's face, one filled with warmth and happiness. She reached up and placed her hand on Bell's cheek, brushing away a stray tear.

"We're going to have a baby," she repeated softly, her voice trembling slightly with emotion.

Bell felt his heart swell with love and pride for his wife.

"Yes. You're going to actually be Mama Riveria." Bell beamed at Riveria, his eyes sparkling with joy and excitement.

"Who are you calling mama?" Riveria asked wryly, though her eyes softened with affection.

Bell grinned, leaning in to kiss her forehead once more. "The most beautiful mama in the whole world."

Riveria let out a soft laugh, her cheeks flushed pink.

Amid cleared her throat, bringing the couple back to the present moment.

"I'll prepare some recommendations for you to follow," she said. "For now, rest is crucial."

As Amid left them alone, Bell leaned closer to Riveria, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "How do you feel?" he asked gently.

"A mix of emotions," Riveria admitted. "But mostly... I feel hopeful."

Bell ran his hand over Riveria's belly, marveling at the new life growing inside her. "I'm going to protect you both," he vowed solemnly.

Riveria placed her hand over his, her gaze filled with gratitude and love. "I know you will."

The two shared a moment of quiet contemplation, their hands intertwined on Riveria's abdomen—a symbol of their growing family and the challenges that lay ahead of them.

Raul then rushed into the tent with a pressing expression on his face.

"Bell Cranel, the captain requests everyone's presence for an urgent meeting."

Bell rose to his feet, helping Riveria up as well. He kept his arm around her waist for support as they made their way out of the tent. The other Loki Familia members were gathering in front of a campfire, their expressions tense and expectant.

"What is this about?" Bell enquired.

"The captain is about to order a retreat back to the surface, so I've heard," Raul replied grimly.

"What?! he can't!" Bell exclaimed, his eyes widening in alarm.

Riveria placed a calming hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Bell. We'll explain everything."

---

Bell Cranel stood amidst the group, the tension in the air palpable. Finn's urgent summons had gathered everyone quickly, and now, all eyes were on their captain. Finn's expression was grim, a shadow of concern darkening his usually sharp features.

"We're aborting the expedition," Finn announced, his voice steady but carrying an unmistakable weight.

A collective murmur of shock rippled through the group, the expressions of dismay mirrored in the faces around him.

Bell's heart skipped a beat. "What? We can't just leave now!"

Finn held up a hand to silence the immediate murmurs of protest. "Listen to me," he continued. "Medusa's poisoning is spreading faster than we anticipated, and Riveria's pregnancy adds another layer of risk. We can't afford to push forward under these conditions."

"But we've come so far," Bete protested angrily. "We can't turn back now!"

Tiona nodded in agreement, her eyes burning with determination. "We've trained and sacrificed too much to give up now," she said firmly. "We're Loki Familia!"

A resounding chorus of assent rippled through the group, their spirits bolstered by Tiona's rallying cry.

Bell nodded, feeling his resolve hardening in his chest.

"I understand your determination," Finn interrupted, his gaze piercing. "But our priority must be the safety of our team. Riveria needs proper medical attention that we can't provide down here."

"But if we retreat now," Bell argued, his voice rising with desperation, "Medusa will have more time to strengthen her forces! She'll come after us with even more power."

Finn met Bell's gaze evenly, his expression unreadable. "Medusa's army is a threat, and we can't ignore it," he acknowledged. "But we can't defeat her on our own. I know the risks. But think about what happens if we continue and someone else gets hurt or worse. We're not in any condition to face her head-on right now."

"But the longer we wait," Bell countered, "the greater the danger grows."

A tense silence fell over the group as they absorbed Finn's words. The reality of the situation sank in slowly, each member processing their own thoughts and feelings.

Finn stood tall, his gaze steady and resolute as he surveyed the group.

Bell glanced around at his companions—Lefiya, Tiona, Bete, Raul, and the rest—and saw a mixture of emotions reflected in their faces: defiance, determination, worry, fear, and an underlying current of camaraderie and solidarity that bound them together like family. He knew in his heart that he would fight by their side no matter what the outcome, but he also understood Finn's concern. They couldn't afford to make any rash decisions in their current condition.

"Please," Bell implored, "we can't give up. We've come too far to turn back now. We can't let Medusa win," Bell insisted, taking a step forward. "We've come too far to turn back now."

Finn's eyes softened slightly as he regarded Bell. "You're right; we've come far. But we can't fight effectively if we're compromised by poison and fatigue." He turned to Riveria, his gaze filled with concern. "And Riveria needs to get proper medical attention as soon as possible."

Riveria stepped forward, her expression resolute. "I'm fine," she said firmly, though Bell could hear the slight tremble in her voice.

Finn's eyes narrowed as he studied her for a moment before nodding reluctantly. "We'll make the climb back to the surface," he declared, his tone brooking no argument. "There, we'll regroup and formulate a plan of attack against Medusa."

"But -"

"We have no other choice," Finn reiterated firmly. "We have to retreat. The well-being of our familia is our top priority. The sooner we reach the surface, the sooner we can devise a strategy to take down Medusa once and for all."

Bell bit his lip and glanced at Riveria, whose expression remained stoic but resigned.

The decision hung heavy in the air as Bell tried to accept the reality of their situation. Despite his reluctance, he couldn't ignore Finn's logic or the safety of those he cared about most.

Ais stepped forward, her eyes pleading. "We have to stay and fight," she insisted, her voice trembling with barely contained emotion.

Tione and Tiona joined her, their expressions mirroring Ais's desperation.

"We can't leave without doing something," Tiona declared fiercely. "We'll never be able to face ourselves if we turn tail and run now."

"Please, Finn," Ais pleaded, her voice cracking slightly. "We have to fight."

Finn's expression remained unchanged. "I'm sorry, Ais," he said solemnly. "I've made up my mind. We're returning to the surface immediately."

Lefiya, Raul, and Bete voiced their objections as well, their voices mingling in a cacophony of frustration and dismay.

Bell watched the exchange, feeling a mix of frustration and helplessness. He understood Finn's reasoning, but it didn't make it any easier to accept.

Bell looked at Riveria helplessly, but she seemed resigned to the captain's decision. Her eyes were filled with a mixture of determination and resignation. "Finn is right," she said softly but firmly. "We must think of the future."

Ais turned to Riveria, her face etched with worry. "Riveria..."

Riveria reached out and took Ais's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "The child I carry is our hope for the future," she continued, her voice steady despite the gravity of her words. "We must protect that hope at all costs."

Bell felt a pang in his chest as he looked at Riveria. Her words were a stark reminder of what was truly at stake.

Bete shook his head angrily, his fists clenched at his sides. "This is bullshit," he spat out furiously. "I'm not gonna turn and run like a coward."

"Neither am I," Lefiya added, her expression set with equal parts defiance and anxiety.

"We're Loki Familia," Bete shouted, "and we never run from a fight!"

"And we never give up," Ais countered fiercely. "Not until the very end."

Finn's eyes flashed with frustration. "That's enough," he said sharply, cutting through the tension like a knife. "The decision is final. We're heading back to the surface immediately."

Finn looked around at the group, his expression resolute yet compassionate. "Let's move out," he ordered.

Ais's shoulders slumped in defeat, but she nodded reluctantly. Tione and Tiona exchanged glances before also nodding in agreement.

Bell approached Riveria and knelt beside her, taking her other hand in his. "We'll protect you and our baby," he promised quietly.

Riveria smiled at him sadly. "I know," she replied, squeezing his hand gently.

Bell stood up and began gathering his belongings, preparing for the climb back to the surface. His mind raced with a mix of emotions—frustration, anxiety, and a deep-seated determination to keep his loved ones safe, no matter what. The decision to retreat weighed heavily on him, but he knew it was the right one for now.

The air was thick with tension as the members of Loki Familia gathered their supplies and prepared for the grueling climb back to the surface.

---

As they began to pack up their camp, Bell couldn't shake the feeling of unfinished business lingering in the air. But he pushed those thoughts aside for now; their focus had to be on ensuring everyone's safety first and foremost.

Ais caught up to Bell as he was securing the last of his gear onto his pack. "Bell," she began, her expression somber but determined.

"What is it, Ais?" Bell asked, turning to face her.

Ais looked at him with a fire blazing in her eyes. "I'm not leaving," she declared, her voice laced with a mixture of resolve and desperation. "I'm staying here."

Bell felt a surge of concern for her. "Ais..." he started.

"Medusa is still out there," she interrupted, her gaze unwavering. "And I'm going to find her. I have to stop her."

"Ais, Medusa's power is well above that of any adventurer. You'll die if you fight her alone."

"I don't care," Ais replied fiercely, her expression filled with equal parts determination and anguish. "I can't let her hurt anyone else. Not if there's even a chance I can stop her."

"Ais... no. I won't let you."

"You can't stop me, Bell."

"You're right, Ais. I can't." Bell paused for a moment before continuing, "But you won't be alone."

"Bell..."

"I'm coming with you."

"You can't." Ais's voice was laced with concern and fear for him.

"Yes, I can," Bell replied firmly, his gaze unflinching as he met hers. "And I will. We're a family. We're in this together."

"You will do no such thing!" Bell was startled by Riveria's stern voice behind him. "Sheesh, you two are a handful. Now stop your petty arguing and listen to me!"

Bell and Ais turned to face Riveria, who approached them with a determined expression on her face. "Going on some suicide mission is not heroic. It is downright foolish," she lectured, her eyes flashing with frustration and worry. "And you, Bell Cranel, will be a father soon. A child cannot grow up without a father."

"But Riveria -"

"I'm not done yet!" Riveria snapped. "This is my familia, and I have already made the decision. Bell Cranel, Ais, you will go back to the surface with the rest of us."

"No!" Ais protested vehemently. "I'm staying."

"If you stay, Bell will stay too," Riveria countered evenly. "You may as well impale him in front of me now if that's your wish."

"But -"

"Ais." Riveria's voice softened slightly as she placed a hand on Ais's shoulder, her expression filled with concern and compassion. "I know how important this is to you. I understand your need to avenge what Medusa has done to our friends and to us."

Riveria paused for a moment before continuing, "There's a difference between being courageous and being foolhardy. And what you are proposing is nothing but foolishness."

"I... I can't leave her to hurt more people," Ais whispered hoarsely, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes.

"And just how will you do it? Nobody has even located the entrance of her lair. Besides, even if you could find it, what kind of hope do you have to defeat her on your own?"

"I... I don't know, but I have to try."

Riveria's expression hardened as she drew herself up to her full height. "When we last faced Medusa in combat, she nearly defeated us using only a fraction of her power and fought an army of adventurers to a standstill. I know it doesn't feel like it, but we're lucky to have survived that battle at all."

"Please... Riveria... I need to do this."

Riveria sighed, shaking her head sadly. "I cannot allow it."

Bell watched the exchange silently, his heart aching as he witnessed Ais's pain and conflicting emotions. He felt torn between the two women he loved—Ais's desire to protect them at all costs and Riveria's determination to keep them safe.

Ais met his gaze, her eyes filled with an indescribable mixture of emotions: desperation, sadness, guilt, and most of all, love.

"Ais, please think, just think. Just what do you hope to accomplish?" Riveria pleaded, her voice trembling slightly with frustration and sorrow. "Ais, I beg you to reconsider."

Riveria's words resonated in Ais's mind, and she knew that she was right.

"Alright," Ais said after a long pause, her voice barely a whisper. "I'll go with you."

Riveria's expression softened, relief washing over her features. "Thank you," she breathed, placing a hand on Ais's shoulder and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

Bell stepped forward and placed his hand on Ais's other shoulder, his gaze filled with understanding and compassion. His heart was heavy with the decision to retreat, but he understood the necessity. Riveria's safety and the well-being of their unborn child were paramount. He couldn't afford to let his emotions cloud his judgment now.

Riveria's hand wrapped around Ais's waist as the three of them embraced tightly—a symbol of their shared purpose and commitment to protect each other, no matter what lay ahead of them.

---

And so, the party began their perilous ascent to the surface. The journey would be wrought with dangers of its own, and Bell felt a sinister aura as he waded through each floor. The tunnels appeared to have a sinister and hostile demeanor, as if they were conspiring against them. They pressed on despite the oppressive atmosphere, determined to reach their destination as soon as possible.

Amid and Cassandra, the healers remained on guard, watching for any potential threats that might emerge from the shadows.

"Stay close," Finn instructed his voice a calm anchor in the growing tension. "We need to move quickly and quietly."

Bell nodded, his eyes scanning their surroundings vigilantly for any sign of danger. His instincts told him that they were not alone, and he trusted them implicitly. He was always on guard, his ears keen for any sounds that could indicate a threat.

The group navigated through twisting passages and narrow corridors, the familiar paths of the Dungeon now feeling like a labyrinth designed to trap them. Every step seemed to echo louder than it should, heightening Bell's sense of foreboding.

Suddenly, Tiona halted at a fork in the path, her eyes widening in alarm. "Finn," she called out, her voice laced with urgency. "Something's not right."

Finn moved quickly to her side, his sharp eyes scanning the area. Bell followed closely behind, peering into the darkness that stretched before them. The usual path that should have led them back towards safety was blocked—massive stone walls had seemingly sprung up from nowhere.

"We're trapped," Finn muttered, frustration clear in his voice.

Bell's heart raced as he turned to look at his companions. Panic was beginning to set in among them; even Ais wore a troubled expression.

"Medusa," Bell whispered, realization dawning on him. "She's cut off our escape routes."

Finn clenched his fists, a look of grim determination settling over his features. "We need to find another way out."

"But there isn't one," Amid protested, her eyes wide with fear and apprehension.

"We need to keep moving," Finn insisted firmly. "Staying here will only make us sitting ducks for her monsters."

As they retraced their steps and searched for an alternate route, Bell couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency building within him. Medusa had anticipated their retreat and trapped them like prey. They couldn't afford to hesitate or second-guess themselves now; time was of the essence.

After what seemed like an eternity, they came to a dead end. "There must be another way," Finn stated confidently.

Bell's breath came in sharp, controlled bursts as the realization sank in. Every path they'd tried to retrace had led them to dead ends, walls, or back to where they started. His eyes scanned the worried faces of his companions, each of them showing the same understanding.

"There's no way out," Bell muttered, his voice heavy with frustration. "Medusa's forced us into a corner."

Finn's gaze met his, a steely resolve in his eyes. "Then we have only one choice left," Finn said firmly. "We go forward."

Bell felt a surge of determination flood through him. The weight of their mission pressed on his shoulders, but he straightened under its burden. He looked at Riveria, her pale face showing signs of exhaustion but also an unyielding spirit.

Ais nodded silently, her expression grim but resolute as she tightened her grip on her sword. Finn turned to Bete, Tiona, and Tione, who nodded in response. They were ready.

Ais stepped forward, her hand resting lightly on Bell's shoulder. "Bell, together," she whispered softly.

Bell's heart swelled with emotion as he felt Ais's presence beside him. His sword was at the ready, and he set his jaw and steeled himself for whatever lay ahead.

They began to move forward as a unit, their steps synchronized and purposeful.

Bell could feel the tension in the air growing thicker with every passing second as they navigated through the treacherous maze. His senses were on high alert, his entire being focused on survival. He scanned the surrounding shadows for any signs of movement, but there was nothing.

They moved through the labyrinthine corridors with heightened vigilance. Bell's senses were on high alert, every creak and distant echo putting him on edge. He kept a firm grip on his weapon, ready to face whatever horrors Medusa had in store for them.

It felt as if the very walls were closing in around them, urging them to turn back—but there was no turning back now. Their only option was to press on and hope that their determination would lead them to victory.

As they proceeded, they discovered more stone walls blocking their path. The atmosphere became even more oppressive as the walls seemed to narrow further.

Bell glanced around at his companions, seeing the same mixture of fear and determination in their eyes. They were in this together—they would find a way out.

"Stay close," Finn instructed quietly. "We're all in this together."

The group pressed forward, their movements a blur of action as they made their way through the narrowing corridors. Bell kept his sword at the ready, his ears and eyes scanning for any sign of movement or threat. Eventually, they came across a chamber that appeared to be devoid of enemies.

Finn raised a hand, signaling for the group to halt. "We'll rest here," he announced, his voice carrying authority and calm. "We need to regain our strength before we press on."

Bell nodded, grateful for the respite. His body ached from the relentless pace and constant tension. He found a spot near Riveria and gently helped her settle down.

He removed a small healing potion from his pack and offered it to Riveria. "Drink this," he encouraged softly. "You need your strength."

Riveria accepted the bottle and downed it in one gulp, grimacing slightly at the taste but visibly relieved by its effect.

She smiled at Bell, her eyes filled with gratitude and affection. Bell returned the smile, feeling a sense of peace wash over him despite their dire circumstances.

"Bell, will you please hold me?" Riveria requested gently, her eyes meeting his with a familiar intensity that stirred something deep within him.

Bell's heart skipped a beat at Riveria's request. He complied without hesitation, wrapping his arms around her protectively and pulling her close.

Riveria closed her eyes as she leaned into Bell's embrace. Bell felt the warmth of her body against his own. The rhythmic rise and fall of her breathing soothed him, and he felt his own eyelids grow heavy.

As the exhaustion of their journey caught up with him, Bell allowed himself to drift into a deep sleep.

In his dream, he found himself back in the master bedroom—ornate and imposing. The familiar opulence of the room felt surreal after the harshness of the Dungeon. Bell's heart pounded as he took in the surroundings, knowing what was coming next.

Medusa appeared before him, her presence as commanding and terrifying as ever. Her red and black dress flowed around her like liquid shadows, and the golden details around her eyes glinted menacingly.

"Bell, my love, you've come back to me," she purred, her voice a sultry caress that sent shivers down Bell's spine.

Bell squared his shoulders, meeting Medusa's gaze with defiance. "What is it that you want from me?" he demanded.

Medusa's lips curled into a sardonic smile as she sauntered closer. "You know what I want," she replied smoothly. "You—by my side."

Bell clenched his fists, feeling anger bubble up within him. "I will never join you," he spat out defiantly.

Medusa's expression hardened, her eyes narrowing dangerously as she advanced on him. "You don't have a choice, Bell. I am the living darkness. I am your past, present, and future. I am all that ever was and all that ever will be."

She reached out and wrapped her slender fingers around Bell's wrist, her touch like ice on his skin. Bell flinched but made no attempt to resist her.

"Medusa..." Bell whispered hoarsely as fear and helplessness washed over him in waves.

"You know you want to because soon you'll have nobody except me. If I have to kill all living things on this Earth to make you mine, so be it."

"No!" Bell cried out as Medusa's grip on his wrist tightened painfully.

Her fingers dug into his flesh like claws, drawing blood.

"It is your destiny, Bell Cranel," Medusa continued, her voice laced with venomous conviction.

Bell's heart raced as he stood his ground. The dream felt so real—the oppressive presence of Medusa overwhelming him once more.

But then he remembered Riveria—her strength, her love, their unborn child. Drawing on that inner resolve, Bell met Medusa's gaze unflinchingly.

"This is just a dream," he stated firmly. "And you have no power over me here. I deny you!"

Medusa's eyes narrowed dangerously as she regarded him with a mixture of amusement and malice.

"Reality is about to come crashing down on you and give you a very rude awakening indeed, my young love."

Bell shook his head defiantly. "I don't believe you," he replied. "I choose to see the light."

Medusa's expression turned cold, her lips curling into a sneer as she released Bell's wrist. Then, she simply let out a shrill laughter.

Bell felt an icy chill wash over him as Medusa's laughter echoed in the confines of the room, but he held onto his determination—knowing that this dream could not break him as long as he remembered what truly mattered: protecting those he loved.

"You will believe it. The effects of my venom should be taking effect right about now," she chirped, her voice dripping with malevolent delight.

"What?!!!" Bell's eyes widened in panic as he realized his arms were feeling weak, almost limp. "What have you done?!"

"Oh, I've only poisoned you, my love," Medusa laughed gleefully, "and all of your little friends. When you awake, you will all be mine."

"No!" Bell exclaimed in horror.

Medusa smiled triumphantly, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction as she watched him suffer. "You'll be back, my love, and soon enough, we'll be together forever," she chuckled.

Bell's eyes widened in horror. He suddenly felt a sharp jolt in his chest, and the world around him shattered like glass.

He awoke with a gasp, his body drenched in cold sweat. His eyes darted around the camp, taking in the chaos that had erupted. The once-quiet camp was now a scene of utter disarray.

Adventurers were convulsing on the ground, their bodies writhing in agony. Some clutched their abdomens, their faces contorted with pain. Others were retching violently, their mouths spewing forth wriggling snakes that slithered away into the shadows. Still, others were screaming, clawing at their own eyes in a desperate attempt to escape the madness that had overtaken them.

The air was filled with the sound of agonized cries and muffled groans as the adventurers struggled to survive the onslaught of Medusa's venom.

Bell's heart pounded as he scrambled to his feet. "No!" he shouted, panic seizing him. He rushed to Riveria's side, but she appeared to be barely affected by the venom due to her G-rank Abnormal Resistance status.

Ais was nearby, struggling to keep Lefiya from harming herself as she writhed on the ground. Finn was on his knees, trying to assess the situation through gritted teeth.

Riveria looked at Bell with concern in her eyes. "What happened?" she demanded.

"We've been poisoned," Finn growled between gasps of pain. "Medusa's venom..."

Bell felt a wave of helplessness wash over him as he looked around at his suffering companions. Amid was trying desperately to administer antidotes, but it was clear that the situation was spiraling out of control.

"We need to get everyone out of here," Finn gasped, clutching his abdomen tightly as the venom began to take effect on his body. "It's only a matter of time before this whole area becomes flooded with her monsters."

Bell nodded grimly, his mind racing as he tried to formulate a plan. "Ais, Riveria," he said quickly, his eyes filled with determination. "Help me gather everyone who's still conscious and capable of walking."

He then turned his attention to Amid. "Is there anything we can do to help?" he demanded urgently.

Amid shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "The antidotes aren't working fast enough," she choked out. "We need something stronger."

Bell's mind raced as he tried to think of a solution. He knew they couldn't fight Medusa like this—they were too vulnerable and weakened by the venom.

"Finn!" Bell called out desperately. "We need a plan!"

Finn struggled to his feet, his face pale and drawn from the effects of the poison. "We need to get everyone out of here," he croaked. "It's our only chance."

Bell nodded grimly, feeling a sense of resolve hardening in his chest.

They had to move—fast—if they wanted any chance of survival.

"Everyone who can still walk," Finn ordered hoarsely, "help those who can't."

The venom coursed through them all like a relentless tide, but Bell refused to give in to despair. He would find a way to save them—no matter what it took.

"I can... hear her voice... in my head!!" One Loki Familia member screamed.

"I can, too!!!" Another said.

"It's everyone!!" Bete howled as he buried his head in his hands as if trying to block out Medusa's malevolent whispers.

Bell's blood ran cold as he realized the truth—Medusa's venom was affecting them all. Most of the adventurers were writhing on the floor in agony, foaming at the mouth, some heaving blood and snakes coming out of their mouths and nostrils. Aisha's body was twitching as she groaned in pain. Ryuu couldn't hold it anymore either. She started foaming at the mouth, her stomach twisted, and her eyes rolled back into her head.

"Adventurers of Loki Familia -" the voice of Medusa announced collectively inside their heads, "you now belong to me. Every inch of your body, every part of your soul. You will bow before me as the supreme ruler of all."

Bell fought back the urge to scream. The sound of Medusa's voice was like a thousand nails being driven into his skull. It took all of his strength just to remain conscious.

"Bell-sama... help me," Haruhime said in agony.

"I'll take care of you, Haruhime. Just hang on..."

"No - I can't hold it much longer!" She cried out before convulsing on the ground before starting to heave up snakes that slithered away into the darkness.

"Bell!" Ais cried out desperately as she fought to contain Lefiya, who was attempting to claw at her own eyes in a desperate attempt to escape the madness consuming her mind.

"You will all join me in heeding the song, the call to war," Medusa's voice announced. "I have discarded the name Medusa - the old me is dead. I am now Tyratryx, the conqueror."

Bell struggled to keep his composure, but his resolve was starting to falter as the venom began to take hold of him. He could feel himself slipping away into a dark oblivion, but he couldn't allow it.

"And this is my first order to you, my new slaves: destroy Riveria Ljos Alf and make sure her child is never born," Tyratryx ordered.

Bell gritted his teeth, his body wracked with pain as he struggled against the venom's influence. "No... we have to keep moving..." he rasped, his voice strained from the effort.

"You will die, Riveria Ljos Alf," Tyratryx declared, "you will die at the hands of your own familia, and your abomination of a child will never, ever draw breath in this world."
