Several years have passed since the war with the Calonian orcs, even when they still tried to come and fight to take the beta female and all the omega. The people are treating it like a simple small invasion now.
And somehow the palace has become quieter than Vivianne remembers. The empire has settled into a peace that once seemed impossible, while Elaris has grown into a thriving homeland and the children born after the war have begun to grow up without knowing the fear that once followed their parents across the sea.
The palace itself has changed as well, although most of those changes are small. New paintings cover the walls, the gardens have been expanded, and the corridors that once carried the hurried footsteps of soldiers and messengers are now more often filled with servants, officials, and children of the nobles.
