Summoned to Duty
The sun hung high over the dojo as a black car pulled up to the entrance. The door opened, and a young man stepped out, his stance firm and composed. Kevin Douglas. His sharp eyes scanned his surroundings as he approached the entrance.
Inside the dojo, Jayden Shiba, the Red Ranger, stood silently, his hands folded behind his back. Ji, his mentor, watched as the first arrival entered.
Kevin bowed respectfully. "Kevin Douglas reporting for duty."
Ji nodded, offering a small smile. "Welcome, Kevin. You have been chosen to serve as the Blue Ranger."
Kevin's grip tightened around the handle of his bag. "I won't let you down."
Just then, the sound of another vehicle pulling up signaled the arrival of another Ranger.
Mia Watanabe stepped out gracefully, adjusting the bag on her shoulder before walking in. Her calm and composed demeanor hid the excitement bubbling inside her.
"Mia Watanabe. I'm honored to be here."
Ji greeted her warmly. "You will take the mantle of the Pink Ranger."
Mia turned to Kevin, giving him a friendly nod. He returned it with a small smile.
Before the moment could settle, a loud "WHOA!" came from outside.
They turned just in time to see a smaller girl stumble slightly as she ran toward them, her excitement barely contained.
Emily Stewart had arrived, practically bouncing with energy. "Emily Stewart! Sorry if I'm late!"
Ji chuckled. "Right on time, Emily. You will be the Yellow Ranger."
Emily beamed, standing beside Mia with a bright smile.
A sudden screech of tires broke the peaceful air as a dirt bike skidded into the yard, stopping just inches from the steps.
Mike Fernandez hopped off, shaking out his helmet-free hair.
"Did I miss the snacks?" he joked, smirking as he walked in.
Ji sighed but smiled. "Mike Fernandez, your responsibility will be as the Green Ranger."
Mike clapped his hands together. "Awesome."
With the four Rangers gathered, Ji turned toward the center of the room.
Jayden stepped forward.
His presence immediately shifted the atmosphere.
Mia, Kevin, Emily, and Mike all straightened as his sharp red eyes gazed at them. He was younger than expected, yet there was something about him. Authority. Power.
Ji stepped aside. "This is Jayden Shiba. Your leader. The Red Ranger."
Jayden looked at each of them.
"It's good to meet you all."
A moment of silence.
Then, Kevin bowed. "It's an honor."
Mia followed. "We're ready to fight by your side."
Emily nodded eagerly. "I won't let you down!"
Mike crossed his arms, smirking. "Well, guess we'll see how this goes."
Jayden gave a small smile. "I look forward to fighting with all of you."
Ji stepped forward, holding out five Samuraizers.
"These will allow you to harness your Symbol Power."
Each Ranger took theirs, holding them tightly.
Jayden flipped his open and drew the Kanji symbol for Fire.
The others followed:
• Kevin - Water
• Mia - Sky
• Emily - Earth
• Mike - Forest
The symbols glowed brightly before vanishing into their Samuraizers.
Ji's gaze was serious. "You are now Samurai Rangers. Your duty is to protect this world from the Nighlok."
Jayden nodded. "This is only the beginning."
