Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Practical

Mikoto was dragging us across the academy grounds like a drill sergeant possessed. Choza grumbled behind me, probably calculating how many calories he'd burn complaining. Shikaku just sighed, like the weight of the world rested on his tiny shoulders.

'Women really are a force of nature… and I thought dodging shurikens was dangerous.'

"Move it, idiots. Practical starts now," Mikoto muttered, tugging my arm with all the grace of a hawk dragging prey.

Random students were called first. I watched quietly, noting their throws and commenting internally.

Sato Kenji—barely hit a target. 55 points. 'Oof, rough start, dude.'

Yamada Rei—two bullseyes out of three. 75 points. 'Not bad. Not bad at all.'

Hayashi Kaoru—struggled. 50 points. 'Really? You just missed the whole plank…'

Shikaku went next. Calm, precise, every throw a bullseye.

"95 points. Good," the teacher muttered.

Choza brute-forced his way through. Hits? Few. Misses? Many.

"60 points," the teacher muttered. Choza shrugged. 'Style points,' he muttered under his breath, clearly proud of his chaos.

Nawaki showed up next, ears still smarting from Tsunade's earlier lecture. First throw—hit. Second—missed. Third—hit.

Teacher: "70 points. Lucked out."

Nawaki grinned sheepishly.

Minato stepped forward. Every throw perfect.

"100 points," the teacher noted, barely hiding his awe. Of course. Genius.

Inoichi followed, precise as ever. 92 points.

Mikoto—98 points. Choza muttered something about cheating with talent. I rolled my eyes.

Finally, it was my turn. Three throws. I paced myself like a gladiator entering the arena.

1. First throw—bullseye. 'Okay, decent…'

2. Second—bullseye. 'Alright… I'm actually doing this.'

3. Third—slightly off, clipped the edge. 'Eh, close enough.'

The teacher scribbled furiously. "93 points. About time someone decided to take classes seriously!"

'Huh. Me? Serious? That's rich,' I muttered, wiping imaginary sweat off my brow.

As I walked back to my spot, I noticed a small blinking blue dot in the corner of my vision. Curious, I glanced toward it. It moved with my gaze. Focusing my mind, a panel materialized in front of me.

'Hope you had a great journey. This is a little gift from me for you to track your progress.'

I froze. 'Damn the 18 generations of his ancestors! Safe journey, my ass! YEET me into another world and then hand me a gift like this…' I shook my head. 'Fine… I guess I'll take it.'

After the practicals wrapped, I waved goodbye to my friends. Choza was already daydreaming about food. Shikaku sighed like he'd aged twenty years. Minato walked past, head held high, every step flawless. Mikoto tugged her hair impatiently, probably muttering about lost time.

'Time to turn this little 93 into something bigger… and the system will be my witness,' I thought.

I sprinted home, taking the long way to increase my running progress. Each step pushed me further, counting toward the 10 km target. Along the way, I imagined my task list ticking forward. Push-ups, sit-ups, squats—all still untouched—but the run was already making a dent. '2.5 km done… 7.5 km to go… might as well make it fun.'

By the time I reached my house, I collapsed briefly on the grass outside, muscles burning. I forced myself up, ignoring the aching in my limbs, and began completing the rest of the exercises. Push-ups, sit-ups, squats—grueling, exhausting, but I refused to stop. I forced my mind to focus, willing myself to complete the task in one push.

Finally, after what felt like hours, I collapsed completely, too weak to move. The world blurred. Then, as the system registered full task completion, a warm, tingling sensation spread through my body.

'…what now?'

The panel updated automatically. My body had been healed—thankfully. I was far too young for this much strain at once. My mind was clear, my muscles recovered, and a subtle glow of energy told me my training had already left an imprint.

'Three years from now… and this will feel like a warm-up. The system, the training, everyone… they won't know what hit them.'

(A/N) Well that took forever, anyway hope you all enjoyed the chapter. Also don't worry this system is only auxiliary allowing him to know his progress.
