The dragon slithered on the ground before it jumped and then started to float in that it. It spun a few moments before saying, "I do feel have the ability but I don't know what they are...not even main body would have known when he created me, so I couldn't inherit any useful memories pertaining them."
Hamar tried to stroke his beard before dropping his hand, "Still used to my beard..." He rolled his sleeve up and held his arm out.
"Hop on, just coil around my arm. Your main body, Hou, once had a dragon that he used."
The death dragon spun in the air a few moments before jumping onto Hou's arm and coiling around his forearm.
"The first ability..." Hamar thought back to what he saw Hou do with his dragon. He tried injecting mental energy.
The dragon stopped and shivered, "Stop that!" Hamar stopped but squinted.
"I don't know...when Hou used his dragon it didn't talk like you. Since you have a portion of Hou in you try to search for any memories on how to do...something"
The dragon nodded then closed its eyes. For a few moments it lie still until it shot up a licked the air. It hissed, "I think I have an idea, but we can't test it out here."
"What is it? Is it too destructive?"
"Not destructive but...harmful. from what I can gather it's some sort of technique where my Death Dao connection resonates with the Life Dao connection of a living being which then drains them of life and transmutes it to death, a sort of Yin, Yang technique."
All the technical terms flew over Hamar's head but he grasped the main idea, "It drains life?"
"Simply, yes."
Hamar dropped his arm, "I indeed can't use that here...no other ideas?"
"This one is something I just came up with but theoretically I can't think why it wouldn't happen."
"If I resonance my death laws in a certain way it should transmute my death laws and push them out as bad luck laws. Death and bad luck are closely linked so the conversion shouldn't be too low."
"I see...that does make sense. If you have too much bad luck then worst case scenario is usually death so it checks out that those laws can transmute easily..."
Hamar flexed his arm then asked an important question, "But...you can't direct these laws can you? So it would give me bad luck too?"
The dragon hissed, "No I can target but there is a downside like you think, just not HOW you think"
"Explain,"
"Every time I use the technique, a small amount of that bad luck will stick with me and you, and to an extent the environment. So it could be dangerous to use often, but if you cleanse it regularly with aura you should get rid off most of it"
"I see, that's a price I can pay. Can you do it now? Or is it still theoretical?"
"Smart question, I can do it now... probably."
Hamar smiled and held out his hand, "Aim for..." He used his other hand and threw out a spare blank spirit stone he had traded for previously, "...that."
Hamar felt his skin wrinkle and become black as the dragon tightened around his arm. Then a dark blob of energy passed through it's body and then shot out towards the spirit stone.
It was a low level, extremely small stone and as soon as the black energy touched it, it burst with a cold energy.
The room drained for a moment and the. The spirit stone dropped, showing a dark metallic blob
Hamar moved over and picked it up, "Even just holding it, I can tell this can't hold on if it absorbs any more bad luck. But...the theory seems to move."
"What theory?"
"If I can comprehend the Da of Bad Luck especially, I could use a spirit stone to absorb the bad luck after using the technique. Then I could use that spirit stone as another attack."
"Hamar...good thinking. Though this will take some time, you could do something similar with Death Laws since you had a good grasp on death but bad luck..."
Hamar threw the small metallic blob into his robe before adding, "But think like this, the more I use the technique...the more bad luck, the more I comprehend the Dao, the more I can motivate the bad luck!"
The dragon seemed astonished for a moment and stared at Hamar, "Perhaps I misjudged you, you're quite smart sometimes..."
Hamar chuckled, "Hey, I even reached your main body some things."
Bang bang
Quickly, Hamar flicked this head towards the far side of the room where the balcony was. He instantly grasped his sword but then changed this mind and dug out that small metallic spirit stone of bad luck.
He held it in his hand and then quickly opened up the balcony and crushed the stone. He protected himself with aura to dissipate the and luck on himself and then he saw the 'enemy'
"Wait wait wait!" She held up her hands and he legs shook.
"I'm from Night Sky"
Hamar's caution waned slightly the he asked, "Identify yourself first"
She carefully grabbed a token from her side and showed it to Hamar. He inspected it then turned his back, "come in"
He didn't stop preparing his aura and always making sure his hand was ready to move for the sword. "Why are you here?"
"I was told to give you this map and leave, sir!"
She bowed deeply and din both hands sh held a scroll. Hamar gently took it and as she turned to leave he warned her,
"Be extremely careful..." She frowned but then nodded and left the way she came.
Hamar watched her l ace as he spoke to the death dragon which had hidden within his sleeve, "It should be fine right? She was only hit with the equivalent of one attack of bad luck..."
***
"Who was that?!" A woman dressed all in black jumped from rooftop to rooftop.
"His aura was silent, I couldn't detect any laws but yet...his aura was baneful and full of death. Then that pill he crushed, was it poison? Am I poisoned?"
She continued nervously until he foot snagged and she fell down, falling through some roofing. She picked herself up and saw she was in a room filled with gold.
Just as she thought she was lucky, a door opened and she felt the fluctuations of an extremely strong cultivator.
***
The dragon popped his head out and took looked outside, "Maybe. Where misfortune lies, as does fortune. If she handles the bad luck right, she might benefit greatly..."
"And if not?"
"It could very well lead to death"
Hamar took out his token and quickly informed the Night Sky, "Informant in possible danger, send help"
He sighed, "They said I only have a few uses of the communication formation in the token, I need to use it sparingly."
