Chapter 101 - chapter 100

'Was that paper always blank... I'll get someone to replace it with something nicer later'

"Sir, wait for me, I'll show you out!"

Yun Cha ran a small bit and caught up to Hou,

"How was the experience?"

"It was perfect, thank you. Please let me pay."

"If sir insists, it would be impolite to reject."

Yun Cha pulled out a slip. It was made of gold around the border and the inside was made of jade. This was a company slip, used for payment between customers and business' rather than individuals.

Hou saw her pull out a slip, and pulled out the token Mo Huai had given him. He tapped it against the slip and they lit up. Then once it was done, a small bell sound was heard.

"It was nice to meet you Yun Cha, I will say goodbye now." Hou left the establishment and waved goodbye to Yun Cha.

As Hou was walking away, Yun Cha was thinking,

'He look so much more handsome for some reason, his skin was so clear. I expect to hear more of this direct disciple soon'

Hou pulled out the small orb he was given by Mo Huai. It was a compass which pointed towards where Hou was staying with Mo Huai. He looked at the compass, and inside he saw a needle pointing in one direction.

He followed the compass as well as could, through the different streets. Finally he came to the inn again. It was a large building, with a normal front; nothing special. However, Hou could not Intuit into it, there seemed to be a barrier around it stopping investigation.

Indeed he felt something similar in the obsidian took at the teahouse. This was a common protection at higher end establishments in Cloud Prism. Due to the unique environment the intuition could penetrate further so these barriers were put in place.

Hou walked in and saw Fatty Kuang once again sitting down having a drink. When he saw Hou wake in, he put down his drink and walked over bowing slightly.

"Thank you for your leniency and righteousness young master!"

Hou nodded and gently walked past. Fatty Kuang was giving Hou face with the other patrons of the inn's lower bar. He emphasized Hou's righteousness in following the deal he had made. This made Hou seem humble which was respected.

Hou walked up the stairs and found his room, following the compass' direction. He opened the room to see Mo Huai was meditating in the air.

"Master Mo Huai, I'm back"

Mo Huai opened one of his eyes and looked at Hou, then he stood up stopping his meditation. He squinted and looked at Hou with a bit of scrutiny.

"What happened, you seem to have some sort of barrier around your body? Not only that, the bit that I can see seems to have been altered..."

Hou had been thinking of what to say if Mo Huai asked this on his way back. He would tell the truth, but omit certain aspects. This was because Hou could not lie easily with his contract.

"I came across an inheritance by... The True Sage of Celestial Ink. In the teahouse this calligraphy came of the paper and entered my body and reformed it."

Mo Huai looked at his body a little more and said,

"An inheritance... That is interesting. I know of True Sage of Celestial Ink, he was a master cultivator of the same generation as the current sect leader. That must be why it could not be seen by anyone... What did it do, did you get anything else?"

"No but I think I got some sort of knowledge on it. It changed my physique into something he called the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique. My body can apply laws, I tested it with body cultivation and it was much stronger."

"Interesting, once we have finished the pilgrimage around the sect, we must test this new physique. For now, it seems harmless. If it is by True Sage of Celestial Ink as you say it was, the sect master should be able to know."

Hou was finished with his business now and instead asked Mo Huai something,

"After this experience, my craving to grow stronger had been strengthened. Could I go to the next inheritance?"

"Of course, just follow me"

Mo Huai fully got ready, with a bit of purple smoke an elaborate robe and markings appeared. He looked very majestic and clearly an Elder.

He walked out of the room, and Hou followed. They walked down the Inn and past the Patton's who all bowed deeply. Even Fatty Kuang did not have enough courage to greet Hou, an Elder wasn't someone normal people could approach.

He walked into the street and walked through it ending up at a fountain. It was a large fountain which sprayed not water but clouds.

"This is the Cloud Forming Fountain, your next inheritance. Go sit on the top and meditate."

Hou nodded and using his Cloudy Eagle Divine Wings and jumped atop the fountain. On top of the spout, Hou sat cross legged and meditated.

Instantly, Hou was sucked into the next inheritance. He once again was placed into somebody else's memories. He experienced a different life, not from birth but he experienced splintered sections of a life.

From humans to ants, Hou experienced the growth of them all. He experienced growing physically, mentally and spiritually. He became a humble spirit master, he contacted a spirit and controlled them. He became a sect master and controlled a large population.

He experienced the life of a peasant, starting out with little knowledge. He then became wiser as he grew older, so wise he started to help even spirit masters. His thinking was deep and profound, higher than those who only focused on power.

He experienced the life of a plant. He started as a mere sprouting stem. He absorbed the sun and nutrients below, he became a tall and beautiful flower.

Growth was not independent. One could not grow without others. The sect master had to rely on his disciples, the old man rely on his experience, the flower relied on the sun. Everything was interconnected, the sect master had once asked for help by the wise man. The wise man had once watered a flower.
