We get ready for the Reaping and I find Padme's airspeeder out by the veranda. I get into the pilot's seat and turn the engine on. Padme comes out to the veranda and sees me. "Hop in," I tell her. She obeys. I drive the airspeeder away from the veranda of our apartment and make a turn into one of the skyways.
We arrive at the Senate building, and I land the airspeeder on the platform. I get out of the airspeeder and help Padme out. Another airpseeder is parked by the edge of the platform. We get in and I tell the pilot to take us to the plaza outside the Senate Rotunda. He pulls the airspeeder away from the platform outside the Senate building. We arrive at the plaza and get out.
We sign in. I stand with the men while Padme stands with the women. Chancellor Palpatine, the Senate Chairmen, and Chancellor Palpatine's aid come and sit down. Syna Ruana, the Coruscant escort, comes and says, "Welcome. Welcome. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Before we begin, we have a very special film."
We watch a short film about the origin of the Games. "Now, the time has come for us to select the male and female tributes for the honor of representing Coruscant in the 30th Annual Hunger Games, the last Hunger Games in the Republic. As usual, ladies first." says Syna. Syna briskly walks over to the glass ball containing the women's names, and takes the first slip she encounters. I hope it's not Padme. She briskly walks back to the microphone, unfolds the slip, and reads the name out loud. "Padme Amidala."
