Kyle and Jake walk in the entrance of the hospital as where other Midtown Manhattan fighters are seen rallying for an attack. Kyle calls Sarah on his radio.
Kyle: Sarah, you still here?
Sarah: Yeah, I'm here, Kyle. Tell Jake I may have a lead on his wife, but-
An earthquake shakes the city.
Jake: Sarah, what'd you find?
Sarah: The warden says there was Jane Doe who fits Keera's description, but it doesn't-
Another earthquake occurs.
Sarah: Dammit! I'll fill you in later, Jake. I have to get back to Alexandria.
Kyle: Okay, Sarah...good luck....I love you.
Sarah: I love you too.
Jake: Damn it! Fuck! I'm going to kill these goddamn soldiers!
Kyle: Jake, she's trying!
Jake: I know, but-fuck.....
Kyle: C'mon, let's move.
Kyle and Jake move into the next room, where they find Walter on his knees praying.
Walter: Father give me strength to vanquish the evil within and protect those who I care for....In Jesus name, your holy son, amen.
Mary approaches Walter as he holds her in his arms.
Mary: You going to be okay?
Walter: Yeah, baby, you know I'm the one that's made of steel around here. It'll take a hammer to shatter me.
Mary laughs.
Walter and Mary share a kiss, before she departs.
Mary: Stay safe.
Walter arms a shotgun, before turning to Kyle and Jake.
Kyle: Hey, Walter. Good to see you.
Walter: You too, Kyle.
Kyle: What are we looking at?
Walter: Zeus Corps Raid. Follow me.
Kyle, Jake and Walter head up to the second floor, where many Midtown Manhattan fighters seen preparing for a fight.
Jake: The Zeus Corps have some serious sacks coming in like this.
Walter: Well, they're going to be pretty pissed off at us. After all, we did destroy their headquarters and killed their boss.
a Midtown Manhattan Fighter approaches the three.
Midtown Manhattan Fighter # 1: Good to see you, guys. We could use more help. Take position along these windows.
Walter: I'll take the far side.
Suddenly, the Bellevue Hospital looses power and the lights go out, causing the emergency lights to come on.
Jake: Well, this is going to make things much harder.
Kyle: Damn, the power's out. Take your positions. Wait until they're right next to the tanks.
The small squad of humanoid creatures break into the main entrance and begin walking towards the tanks in the middle as Kyle, Jake and Walter along with the Midtown Manhattan fighters take cover, preparing to attack.
Kyle: Those aren't Zeus Corps Soldiers....or Skinwalkers.
Walter: What the hell are they?
Jake: Those look like the monsters that sunk Baltimore.
Humanoid mutants: What the hell are these here for?
Kyle: Now!
Kyle, Jake, Walter and the Midtown Manhattan Fighters shoot at the propane tanks, causing them to explode and killing the humanoid mutants. Kyle, Jake and Walter walk up the burned mutants' corpses.
Walter: Well, that settles it. They're easy to kill.....
Jake notices a burning humanoid mutant still alive, before putting it out of its misery.
Jake: Kind of...
Kyle: Jesus....what are these things?
Walter kicks the humanoid mutant body.
Walter: Some kind of monsters.....
Jake: Ugly monsters.....
Suddenly, more humanoid mutant attack as Kyle, Jake and Walter shoot at them. The three men along with the Midtown Manhattan fighters engage the human mutant in a shootout across the Bellevue hospital. Across the hospital, Midtown Manhattan snipers on the rooftops shoot at the humanoid mutant taking a few of them down.
Midtown Manhattan Sniper: God, these things are heard to kill.
The few humanoid mutants are able to escape as Kyle talks to the sniper through his radio.
Kyle: Hey! Edgar! Nice job covering our asses!
Edgar: You got it, Kyle. What the hell are those things?
Kyle: That's what we're trying to find out.
Edgar: Wait....I see something in the sky....it looks like....oh, shit! Griggs! Open fire at that thing in the-
The radio connection is cut off.
Kyle: Edgar? Edgar?
Walter notices an explosion outside the hospital at Edgar's position.
Walter: Shit....Kyle...wasn't that where Edgar was?
Kyle: Yeah...I'm pretty sure he's okay.
Jake: How do you know?
Kyle: I don't, but it's called faith.
Suddenly, a giant creature with tentacles hanging from the bottom and flown by two humanoid mutants flies up at Kyle, Jake and Walter, opening fire and forcing them take cover.
Walter: Damn it!
Kyle opens fire at the creature, hitting the passenger and causing the driver to pull out and retreat.
Jake: What was that?!
Walter: Hell if I know, but that thing was fucking ugly!
The three men fight their way to the front entrance of the hospital, where Walter examines the blood of the humanoid mutants.
Walter: You know, these things have awesome blood....just sayin...
Jake: That's just gross, Walter.
Kyle, Jake and Walter open the entrance door to find Cameron hunched up with his back against the wall, clutching onto his rifle.
Kyle: The hell you doing here, rookie?
Cameron: The area I was watching out for got overrun by these monsters. These Midtown Manhattan fighters rounded me up to fight.
Kyle: Can I ask you a question?
Cameron: Yes...
Kyle: Why are you in here and not fighting out there?
Cameron: Reloading, sir....I mean Kyle...
Cameron struggles to reload his rifle.
Cameron: Still having trouble with that trait.
Kyle: You better get that down quick then. Let's get out there, boys.
Kyle, Jake, Cameron and Walter run out of the hospital, where a massive shootout between Midtown Manhattan Fighters and humanoid mutants ensues.
Kyle: Rookie, you're with us!
Cameron: Yes, sir! I mean Kyle!
A Midtown Manhattan Fighter with a mini gun opens fire at the humanoid mutants and the flying creatures, destroying most of the streets and cars.
Jake: Damn! No! No! That was a Lamborghini! That was a nice car!
The ground crumbles as a hole is made that the humanoid mutants emerge out of.
Walter: Oh, my god! Did you see that?!
Kyle: They just came out of that hole! Take out that hole!
Jake: I got it!
Jake equips a grenade and tosses it into the hole as the explosion seals the hole.
Jake: Cameron, you see that, boy?! That's how you toss a grenade!
Cameron: Nice toss, Jake!
Another Midtown Manhattan Fighter guns down the few remaining humanoid mutants, causing the remaining the enemy forces to retreat.
Jake: Never seen these things before.
Kyle: Never? Not outside during your trips.
Jake: No. They're not Skinners or Ghouls.
Kyle: Well, I guess the earthquake and the monsters' rumors are confirmed.
Walter: Oh, man. Alexandria is going to be pissed. How the hell are we going to clean up all these debris and bodies?
Jake: Leave that to the street janitor.....so if these things are attacking cities, do you think we're in trouble?
Kyle: Yeah...and trouble tends to find us...
Kyle turns to Cameron.
Kyle: and Rookie, kid...you did good.
Cameron: Well, thanks, Kyle.
Cameron laughs.
Cameron: I did good! He said I did good!
Cameron turns to Walter.
Cameron: Up top, bro!
Cameron attempts to high five with Walter, who nods.
Walter: No, son...we...uh...we don't high five after a big win.
Kyle talks into the radio.
Kyle: Sarah, threat taken care of. You okay?
Sarah: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. It was very close, but me and Ashley got out in time.
Jake: Let me speak to her.
Jake grabs the radio from Kyle.
Jake: Sarah, did you find something?
Sarah: I....
Jake: tell me.....don't bullshit me.
Sarah: My sister and I looked for her...
Jake: And?
Sarah: The Jane Doe I mentioned. She matches the same description, but Alexandria said she was released a few weeks ago...she doesn't know anything after that...
Jake: Wait, that's it?! There's gotta be something else? Probably another lead?! Anything?!
Sarah: I'm sorry, Jake...I'm sorry...that's it...
Jake: Okay....Kyle...come get this.
Kyle takes the radio from Jake.
Jake: Fuck!
Jake begins to bash a nearby car as John moves out of the way.
Jake: I've failed again! I've fucking lost her again, man!
Jake grunts in frustration.
Jake: Goddamn it!
Jake punches out one of the windows on the car, causing his hand to bleed. Jake, stressed, leans his head against the car.
Kyle: Copy that, Sarah.....I'll see you at home.
Kyle puts his radio in his holster, before he approaches Jake.
Kyle: Jake, you okay, man?
Jake: Just get the f-I'm sorry, man...I....I just need a moment, Kyle....please...
Kyle: Yeah, man....take your time.
Kyle turns to Walter and Cameron.
Kyle: Guys, let's go.
Kyle, Jake and Cameron walk away as Jake grieves.
Jake: (quietly) I'm sorry, Keera.
Following the attack of the mutants, in Time's Square, Alexandria rounds up the Midtown Manhattan fighters as Sarah, Cassandra, Caleb and Mitchell stand up with her on the red stairs. Among the fighters listening to the speech is Maya and Ashley.
Alexandria: We are no strangers to the Wasteland. We've been fighting for a very long time. Fire and war is all we know. In this past life, we fought for respect. We fought for America. We fought for honor, but all that changed after the bombs dropped. For twenty-four years, we've been fighting for our lives...having to do incredibly cruel things.....kill to survive....and now we have to fight against a new threat....these advanced monsters....it's a fight we may not win. That means humanity will face extinction unless we take a stand.
In Midtown Manhattan, many of the armored buses driven by Midtown Manhattan Fighters are driving away from Midtown Manhattan. In one of them, Kyle, Jake and Cameron are arming their assault rifles and pistols.
Cameron: So why Dallas, Kyle? That's the home of the wasteland President, right?
Kyle: Yeah, the wasteland President might have info on what these things are.
Cameron: With all due respect, Mr. Desipich, shouldn't we let the A.O.W handle this sort of situation?
Kyle: I'm not the one to trust military or politics with this sort of thing.
Cameron: So what were those things anyway?
Kyle: I don't know, but this could mean something bad. This won't be like Kronos or Zeus Corps.
Jake: but they were human. These things aren't....which means a threat to Midtown Manhattan and probably the world is coming.
Alexandria: We thought that after Kronos' defeat, we would find peace, but these new enemies are much stronger than them. They've brought with them a force that could destroy entire cities....even Midtown Manhattan, my home, our home, your home, is at stake.
Jake pulls out a faded picture of Keera and himself during their marriage, before the armored busses arrive in a settlement.
Alexandria: If we don't fight now, we'll lose everything we've fought for....meaning we have one option...to fight them all..... Midtown Manhattan, what I ask of you is not easy, but it's necessary for our future. If we are to live; if we are to live long enough to see our children grow and the leaves fall in a time of peace, we must take this fight to this threat that is much smarter than any of the other creatures generated from the apocalypse. We will travel to where they live and where they plan and we will destroy them. We've faced horrors of nuclear destruction and survived. We've faced the force of Zeus Corps and survived.....We now face these monsters and we will survive! My fellow brothers. My fellow sisters. Go forth and earn your place in the Wasteland!
The Midtown Manhattan Survivors cheer on while in the settlement, the armored bus carrying Kyle, Jake and Cameron land as a pilot wearing a cowboy hat, Woody Dalton, approaches the three as they exit.
Woody: Welcome to the southern mud pit, Kyle Desipich. You ready to make like a duster and beat it?
Kyle: damn right.
Woody: Well, let's get your ass to the meet the President then.
