I had been pulled into a dreamscape. Riven's doing, no doubt.
I didn't realize I'd been holding my breath until Riven spoke and asked what I thought of the space.
It took me a moment to respond—not because I didn't have words, but because I didn't know which ones fit. The room around me looked like something ripped straight out of a fantasy novel. Not the gritty, blood-soaked kind. No, the kind with glass ceilings and velvet walls, with beds that looked like thrones and chandeliers that dripped starlight instead of crystal. There were drapes so sheer they might as well have been made of fog, and the entire place smelled faintly of sandalwood, honey, and heat.
My lips parted as I turned, taking in more of it. The floor shimmered beneath us. A low fire crackled in a hearth that definitely wasn't the one in my room. The bed, massive and cloaked in purple and sliver sheets, looked like it had swallowed a galaxy and liked the taste.
