Merlin burst into hearty laughter.
"Slytherin, aren't you only fourteen or fifteen? She's a thousand-year-old elf queen!"
He laughed so hard that he nearly doubled over.
"When I was with Vivienne, I was already nearing eighty! You weren't even born yet!"
Despite his words, Merlin's teasing glance at Moriarty was half-amused, half-respectful. Thanks to Moriarty's accelerated development, he appeared more like a fifth-year student—tall, composed, and powerfully built.
Merlin winked.
"You've got nerve, kid. But are you sure you're ready to drive a car that big?"
His grin was playful, but there was an edge to his voice.
Then he turned toward Diana with a skeptical look.
"Tell me, are all elf women like this? So… drawn to younger men?"
"If you're going to laugh, laugh now," Diana snapped, her eyes glinting.
"Because once the teacher appears, you might not even have time to cry."
Her sharp words softened instantly as she looked at Moriarty. Her tone turned affectionate, nearly pleading.
"Moriarty, come with me. In the Elf Forest, no one can match the Elf Queen. Ask Merlin—he's stronger than most, but even he didn't dare face her directly."
Her voice drifted through the air like a song on the wind—charming and unnerving.
Diana stood tall, graceful, noble. But her smile, though beautiful, carried hints of obsession.
Moriarty couldn't deny her allure. She was stunning—more radiant than Narcissa, and her noble elven bloodline granted her immense magical prestige.
Still, her personality bore the same dangerous edge he'd seen in Vivienne: possessive, determined, and unpredictable.
Around them, male elves narrowed their eyes, clearly protective of Diana. Some glared at Moriarty with barely disguised jealousy.
Suddenly—
"Splash! Crash!"
The lake erupted.
Dozens of elves shouted in alarm as something massive rose from the water.
Moriarty's eyes widened.
"Is that… Vivian? The Lady of the Lake?"
The being that emerged was almost unrecognizable. Towering and grotesque, her figure was twisted and waterlogged, with tangled hair and algae clinging to her limbs. She was draped in remnants of lakeweed and shells.
If not for her elongated elven ears, no one would have recognized her.
The crowd fell silent. Even Diana looked somber.
"Vivian…" Merlin murmured.
His voice cracked as he stepped forward.
"What happened to you?"
Vivian raised her head. Her pupils were pale and vacant, drained of all lucidity. Her once radiant magic had become corrupted.
"She chose this," Diana said coldly.
"She let the corruption in. She sank into the lake willingly—after you abandoned her."
Merlin clenched his fists. His smirk was gone.
Vivian lunged forward.
Merlin braced himself but didn't retaliate.
"She's not a monster," he said through gritted teeth.
"She's my teacher…"
"Arrogant."
Diana's tone turned icy.
Her hands clapped together, and a surge of emerald energy blasted into the sky. A crystal staff materialized in her grip.
With a chant in ancient Elvish, the entire world shifted.
Grass, trees, and flowers all faded into mist. Even the lake shimmered like a mirage.
"She's casting Captivity Magic!" Merlin shouted.
"Run! Now!"
Moriarty turned to fly—but couldn't.
Avalon was no longer part of the real world.
Diana had reshaped it into her domain. And in her domain, she controlled everything.
"I've sealed the magic flow," she declared.
"Your Occlumency and Alchemy Matrix are useless here.
Only the four of us remain conscious. The others are asleep."
The elves lay unconscious on the ground.
Even the system… was blocked.
"System, open the store!" Moriarty tried again.
No response.
He clenched his jaw.
So this is her trump card.
A massive oak tree surged from the earth beneath him.
He dodged, but its roots moved faster.
Before he could cast a counterspell, he was encased.
Inside, it was… peaceful. Too peaceful.
Cushions lined the floor. Gentle sunlight filtered through the leaves. The scent of flowers floated on the air.
Diana stepped inside, her gaze intense.
But Moriarty was no longer distracted by her charm.
His mind raced.
"You're clever, Diana," he said quietly.
"But this isn't love. It's conquest."
She didn't deny it.
"Yes. I want you to stay with me—forever."
He looked around at the magical prison.
"You trapped me in a dream, but I'm not someone who bends easily.
If you want me to join you, you'll need more than this."
Diana approached, hopeful.
Moriarty stood tall and stepped forward.
"You want a partner, not a prisoner."
For a moment, the queen hesitated. Her façade wavered.
Outside, Merlin continued to struggle against Vivian, trying to awaken what was left of her.
Inside the oak prison, Moriarty looked Diana in the eyes.
"You love power, Diana. But you respect strength.
So earn mine—don't steal it."
Diana lowered her staff, uncertain.
Moriarty smiled coldly.
"You want me?
Then face me—not as a captor, but as a queen worthy of loyalty."
