Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Curtain Falls

Regarding the question about Robin's skin tone—according to her, after spending several years in Alabasta, she did indeed get a bit tanned. If she were to move to a different climate, say a snow-covered region, her skin would gradually lighten again.

But that brought up another question—why was Vivi still so fair-skinned despite also living in Alabasta?

After giving it some thought, Su Xiaoqi concluded that it was probably due to Vivi's upbringing. She was a princess, after all. Living in a royal palace meant little to no sun exposure.

"Robin, now that you've joined the Straw Hat Pirates, it's time I let you in on a few of our secrets," Su Xiaoqi said.

He then told her about the chat group. She would eventually learn about it after joining Luffy's crew anyway, so revealing it early served as a bit of insurance for when he eventually left.

With Vivi still undecided about joining the Straw Hats, Robin was currently the best spy he could place at Nami's side—especially since he planned to keep messing with Nami.

What surprised Su Xiaoqi, however, was that after hearing the entire truth, Robin didn't say a word. She just kept staring at him in silence, which made him a bit uneasy.

"Hey, could you not look at me like that? Anyone else would think I did something to you."

Robin smiled faintly. "You've gone through all this trouble to help me, and now you're telling me all this. Just say it—what do you want me to do?"

"Straight to the point—I like that."

Su Xiaoqi grinned and laid out what he needed her to do. He added, "Don't worry, I won't make you do it for nothing. Whatever problems you run into in the future, I'll have your back."

Vivi chuckled. "Why are you still trying to mess with Nami? Hasn't she suffered enough already? I bet the Navy's bounty on her will be through the roof after this."

"That woman is way too arrogant—someone has to teach her a lesson. It's just that…" Su Xiaoqi sighed and looked at Vivi. "If you joined the Straw Hats, I'd feel a lot more at ease. You're the one I trust most in this whole pirate world."

Hearing that, Vivi's heart fluttered. She gave him a sweet smile and said, "I'll give you my answer tonight."

Robin, watching the two of them interact, suddenly had a mischievous thought—what if she and Nami teamed up behind the scenes to reverse the tables on these two? That could be fun. But for now…

"I'll agree to your request—as a thank you for sharing all that information with me."

Su Xiaoqi nodded in satisfaction. "Then let's work well together. If anyone asks, just say I beat you into submission. And keep some distance between us in public—otherwise, Nami might get suspicious."

Robin twitched slightly at that. "You really are a terrible person."

"Why, thank you," Su Xiaoqi smiled. Then he turned to Vivi. "Let's go check on how Luffy's doing. Once everything's over, we'll need you to help wrap things up."

When the three of them returned to the surface, Luffy's battle with Crocodile was nearing its conclusion. What caught Su Xiaoqi's eye was that Luffy had somehow managed to unlock Gear Second ahead of schedule—something he'd never shown during their previous training.

Using Gear Second and the blood still flowing from his body, Luffy managed to counter Crocodile's sand-based powers and ultimately defeat him.

Su Xiaoqi looked at the two of them lying on the ground and said, "Vivi, Robin, take Luffy to the palace and get his injuries treated. I have a few things to take care of."

Vivi didn't hesitate—she trusted Su Xiaoqi completely and would support whatever he decided to do. Robin opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately held back. She already considered herself a member of the Straw Hat Pirates now. The people from Baroque Works had nothing to do with her anymore. Her relationship with Crocodile had always been purely transactional—there were no real feelings involved.

After the two women left with Luffy, Su Xiaoqi killed the unconscious Crocodile on the spot. He wasn't like Luffy, who only believed in defeating or blasting away his enemies. If someone was bound to become his enemy again in the future, he'd eliminate them without hesitation—just like he had done to the Shrek Academy people before.

Kakarot may have been an exception among Saiyans, but the blood running through Su Xiaoqi's veins was more like that of the typical Saiyan—ruthless and cold.

After finishing off Crocodile, Su Xiaoqi flew across the various battlefields. Any Baroque Works officer who was still breathing got dealt with on the spot.

Once everything was done, he didn't bother with the Royal Guard or the Marines already gathered outside the palace gates. King Cobra could handle them. Su Xiaoqi flew off to meet up with Lu Linglong at their pre-arranged rendezvous.

But something puzzled him.

He had clearly wiped out all of Baroque Works—so why hadn't he received the mission completion notification yet?

After thinking it over to no avail, he decided to let it go. Spending a bit more time here wasn't so bad. It gave him a chance to spend more time with Zhu Zhuqing—and he was reluctant to part with Vivi too.

Over the past few days, Su Xiaoqi had started to realize he might be falling for the gentle, kind, and understanding little princess.

Compared to that explosive-tempered Nami, Vivi was better in just about every way.

But before anything could happen, he needed to check in with his beloved "Big Cat." Zhu Zhuqing had told him before that she wouldn't interfere if he pursued other women—but he still wanted to be respectful.

Of course, Vivi's feelings mattered too. If she didn't like him back, then none of it would matter anyway.

When Su Xiaoqi arrived at the meeting spot, the others were already there. With the help of Kaito Kid, they were dressing up as members of the Royal Army. Kid himself had taken on the appearance of Vivi.

Their plan was to return to the palace in disguise, led by the fake Vivi. Once everything settled down, the real Vivi would make a public speech—and the curtain would fall perfectly.

"Kid, Chopper—why are your faces all swollen?"

"Linglong, why the pouty face? What happened? Who bullied you?"

Kaito Kid and Chopper both kept their mouths shut, while Lu Linglong sulked and said, "Su Xiaoqi, I sacrificed so much this time. If you don't help me win the next Luo Tian Grand Tournament, I'm never speaking to you again."

Su Xiaoqi whispered, "Wait… did she hit you too?"

Lu Linglong shook her head. "No… but she made me lose a lot of 'blood.'"

Su Xiaoqi's eyes widened in shock. "Wait… are you saying she triggered your period?"

"You're the one who triggered a period!" Lu Linglong snapped, then groaned. "She said I was the third main conspirator, and now I have to pay her 50,000 points in emotional damages. She wants it all paid within a month or she'll charge 1% daily interest after that!"

"Zhuqing and Kurumi were part of this too! Why didn't they get punished?"

"Because you were having the most fun," Su Xiaoqi thought silently. But out loud, he whispered, "Are you dumb? Just because she says you owe her doesn't mean you actually do. Give her a rock or something instead."

Lu Linglong pouted. "I was thinking that… but then she said I'm not allowed to join any future missions until I pay up. I still want to go to Skypiea, Sabaody, and Fish-Man Island!"

She batted her eyes at him, looking pitiful. "Hey… could you lend me the 50,000 points? I'll pay you back after the tournament…"

Su Xiaoqi patted her on the shoulder. "Linglong, I'll make sure you have plenty of chances to earn points during the tournament. But as for that 50,000… well, I've got mouths to feed, bills to pay—the pressure's really getting to me, y'know?"

"Anyway, uh… I think Zhuqing's calling me. Gotta go. You… hang in there, okay?"
