First, as I mentioned before, there are three types of werewolves: Evolved Werewolves, Original Werewolves, and Traditional Werewolves.
However, there is a fourth type that results from the crossing of these types with each other. This type is called Gamma.
Gamma werewolves are the strongest type of werewolves after Lycans. They are a hybrid mixture between Original/Evolved werewolves or Traditional/Evolved werewolves.
This type is characterized by greater strength, durability, and speed than the other types of werewolves. They also possess the evolved werewolves' ability to control their transformations.
Because of this, they have more than one transformation form.
For example, they can transform into a werewolf-like form similar to evolved werewolves, or into a full wolf form like original or traditional werewolves.
They also possess stronger senses than other werewolves.
Most importantly, their bite is far more lethal to vampires than any other type of werewolf. While other werewolves can kill vampires with their venom within twenty-four hours, the venom of a Gamma werewolf can kill a vampire in less than 12 hours.
They are distinguished by purple eyes with silver irises.
In order for a Gamma werewolf to activate their curse and use their powers, they must kill an innocent human, just like Original and Traditional werewolves.
However, their weakness is that they suffer from greater difficulty controlling their instincts and anger than other werewolves, which makes them more prone to losing control and turning into mindless raging beasts.
Alex is a Gamma werewolf, since his mother was an evolved Alpha werewolf, and his father was the leader of one of the seven Original packs, meaning he was an Original werewolf.
If a Gamma werewolf descends from the Original werewolf bloodline, they will also inherit their unique abilities and rare traits that distinguish them from other werewolves.
As for how Alex transformed into a Lycan, for those who did not understand it yet, the explanation is simple.
When Peter Hale bit Alex, it triggered a defensive immune chain reaction in his body.
The bite of an Alpha evolved werewolf can turn humans into werewolves, but it cannot turn supernatural beings into werewolves.
Since Alex was already a Gamma werewolf by nature, his body reacted violently and attempted to reject the magic in Peter's bite. However, because Alex had not activated his curse yet and had not fully become a werewolf, his body was unable to expel the magic, which caused him to slowly die in great pain.
Then Deaton intervened and used a spell to forcefully remove the effects of Peter's bite from Alex. But instead of expelling the magic, the spell caused Alex's body to absorb the magic into itself, allowing him to evolve and ascend to the peak of the werewolf species — the Lycans.
And that is how Alex became a Lycan.
Since Alex was originally a Gamma werewolf with enormous potential, these abilities were greatly amplified, making him far more terrifying. This also means he has the greatest potential for growth and evolution. Given enough time, Alex could literally surpass any creature on the planet and become the strongest without training or difficulty.

Dr. Deaton used a powerful spell intended to remove the magical effects of the bite.
Unexpected Result:
Instead of expelling the magic, the spell caused Alex's body to absorb the magic completely.
Final Evolution:
The absorbed magic allowed Alex to evolve and ascend to the highest evolutionary stage of the werewolf species: Lycans.
Potential:
Because Alex was already a Gamma werewolf with enormous latent potential, this evolution amplified his abilities dramatically. Given enough time, he could surpass any supernatural creature on Earth and become the strongest without requiring training or difficulty.
