Against Axel's hopes, the weather on the weekend was… not so great. The air was cold, and the sky was fully overcast, making the day dark and gloomy.
At least it wasn't raining, though. If it did, they probably would have had to cancel their plans.
If there was one good thing about it all, that was that the weather successfully discouraged some people from taking advantage of the last days of the season, and as a result, the amusement park was less crowded than Axel had expected. That meant that they wouldn't be subjected to standing in lines for hours, and they could enjoy the rides to their heart's content.
The kids' rides, of course. Ollie was still too small to go on the thrill rides, so with just the two of them watching over the boy, Axel and River naturally also couldn't go.
And thank god they couldn't. Or else Axel would have ended up embarrassing himself. He was not good with thrills at all. In fact…
