As Aurora Perish and Hyacinth Chua walked away, Aurora Perish chuckle. Hyacinth Chua glanced at her, curious. "Why are you laughing?" she asked.
Aurora Perish shook her head, her lips curling into a secretive smile. "Nothing," she replied, though in truth, she couldn't exactly say it was a new experience for her.
Who would have thought that men could act like this in this world? It was funny how they seemed to be behaving so much like girls. She was almost ready to burst out laughing when she overheard them giggling and whispering, just like girls often do. She didn't mind it, though. In fact, she found it surprisingly amusing to see boys acting that way.
If boys acted like this in her world, they'd probably get a good scolding from their parents.
When they entered the classroom, only a few people were there, since it was still early. Aurora Perish quickly found the spot where the original body had sat, remembering it from her memories. Hyacinth Chua, on the other hand, took a seat in the first row, right in front of her.
Aurora Perish glanced at the desk and chair. The table was rectangular, a convenient design for writing. The chairs were attached to the tables—two desks connected to each other and surprisingly comfortable, unlike the hard, uncomfortable ones she was used to from her previous life.
Aurora Perish was shifting around, trying to find a comfortable sitting position. She moved quite a bit, something Hyacinth Chua noticed—but chose not to comment on. Eventually, Aurora Perish found a posture that suited her, and she settled into it comfortably.
Back in college, Aurora Perish wouldn't have dared to relax like this—her mind had always been overwhelmed with assignments and responsibilities. But now, as a teenager again, she figured why not make up for lost time?
As Aurora Perish lay comfortably and Hyacinth Chua zoned out in front of her, the two little rascals finally entered the classroom—Soren Halloway and Sora Winslow. Sora's uniform was a mess, her socks mismatched, while Soren Halloway looked put together in comparison.
She even had two drinks in her hands, casually sipping from one.
Soren Hallow casually placed the bottle on Sora Winslow's table.
When Sora Winslow noticed the water bottle in front of her, she immediately grabbed it and drank half of it in one go
Soren Halloway gently handed Sora Winslow a box of tissues. Sora Winslow accepted it with a familiarity that suggested they'd done this many times before.
Aurora Perish, who had been silently watching the whole exchange.
"..."
As the rest of the class came in and everyone waited for the teacher, Aurora Perish looked out the window. The schoolyard outside looked calm and peaceful. Trees stood tall with their leaves gently swaying in the breeze. A few students were sitting under the trees, talking and laughing. Birds chirped in the background, and the soft morning sunlight made everything look warm and quiet. It felt just like a scene from a storybook.
Maybe I can afford to be a little lazy after all.
Aurora Perish basked in the warm sunlight, like a content cat, unable to help the good feeling that settled over her.
Then the door opened, and the classroom immediately quieted down.
Aurora Perish looked to the front. The teacher was holding a sheet of paper—it had to be a test.
"No way, is that our previous test!?"
"My score's probably terrible. I've got a bad feeling about it."
"Don't worry! At least you didn't get a zero!"
"My parents are gonna spank my ass!"
"HAHA."
The teacher called three students to the front. Soren Halloway was among them. Of course, the teacher didn't call on Hyacinth Chua—her uncle owned the school, after all.
Who would dare to order around a rich kid like that? No one.
Aurora Perish felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned to the side—it was Soren Halloway, a grin on her face. She gestured to the paper she was holding. Aurora Perish took it without a word, and Soren Halloway walked away.
Sora Winslow leaned in and asked, "What's your score?"
Aurora Perish showed her the paper.
"What—you got 23 out of 50?" Sora Winslow smirked and sneakily showed her own test paper. It was 47 out of 50. Aurora Perish raised an eyebrow.
So this girl was actually smart...
Not that it mattered. Aurora Perish didn't care about the score anyway. She hadn't answered those questions—it was the original owner of this body who had.
Sora Winslow widened her grin while Aurora Perish looked away, unbothered.
Then, they both heard the rustle of paper in front of them. Looking up, they saw it—a large red 50 written in bold ink, with the name Hyacinth Chua beside it.
Hyacinth Chua glanced back at them from her seat and smiled.
Sora Winslow's smile froze.
Aurora Perish: "..."
...I thought this lesbian was supposed to be heartbroken???
Sora Winslow pouted. "Show off!!"
Aren't you the same?
Hyacinth Chua smiled—she enjoyed seeing people suffer. Her gloomy mood from earlier had completely vanished, especially after seeing that unpleasant woman.
Still, she couldn't help but think of the past.
Rose Sallow...
No! She shook the thought from her mind. She shouldn't be thinking about that woman anymore!
She chose someone else, not you! So you'd better stop thinking about her already.
There are plenty of fish in the sea... Hmph.
While Hyacinth Chua was locked in an internal battle, trying to hypnotize herself into believing she didn't miss Rose Sallow at all...
Class ended—it was finally break time. Aurora Perish grabbed her wallet and walked out of the classroom with the others.
As they chatted, they decided to head to the cafeteria. Hyacinth Chua wasn't in the mood to visit a restaurant today, and the other three knew it. That's why they chose the cafeteria instead.
Most of the students here were from middle class families. The rich kids usually preferred eating at restaurants rather than in the school cafeteria.
Because of that, the cafeteria wasn't crowded in the early morning.
