Fern continued, "And also regarding your offer, I agree to it. I will follow you wherever you go."
Kairos replied, "Have you thought about it carefully? Is your sister okay with this?"
Fern: "Yes, I have thought carefully, and my sister agrees."
Kairos: "Alright. Then from today, you are the first student I take. From now on, you must follow me, and I will make sure to train you. But my training is very difficult. Are you ready for this?"
Fern: "Yes, I am ready. I will do everything I can."
Kairos: "Good. I like this courage."
Everyone finished their breakfast. When they were leaving, Kairos approached Isabel and said, "Be very careful when learning magic. Stay away from boys, because they may investigate your past to discover your truth. And never have a romantic relationship with a student, because it could affect our plan. When everything is over, you can do whatever you like."
Isabel felt very sad upon hearing this. She replied yes and then left.
Kairos asked, "What happened to her?"
Zilla: "I thought you were smart, but you're really foolish in relationships."
Kairos thought to himself, "I know she likes me, but I don't have time for these trivialities. I will act as if I know nothing to avoid any problems. I can do without her."
Fern and Kairos went to the fencing class, and Isabel went to the magic class. All the students gathered in a large hall to listen to a lecture from a senior-year student.
All the students were present. There were many strong students, and the fencing class was divided to the right and magic to the left. The difference in strength was clear: the magic students were very strong, whereas the fencing students looked as if it were the end of the world, lacking passion—except for the boy standing in the first row, full of courage and hope.
Kairos and Fern were at the back, standing with courage. Their posture was clear and showed strength. Then everyone fell silent, and the lecture began.
A third-year student spoke: "Dear students, I wish you a good study year. I hope you enjoy the school, develop greatly, be role models for children, and protect our kingdom. Thank you."
Everyone applauded him. After a while, the principal came forward and spoke: "It is an honor for us to welcome new students, many of whom are strong and brilliant. This shows the value and respect of our academy. Also, for the new students who have joined us, I wish you more achievements and to honor the academy. I expect much from you in the end-of-year competition. Thank you very much."
After the principal finished speaking, everyone left the hall. Then Kairos asked a student in front of him, "What is the end-of-year competition?"
The student replied: "It is a competition in which all academy students participate to determine the best geniuses and the strongest in the academy."
Kairos: "Ah, I understand. Thank you very much for telling me."
The student replied: "Don't thank me, I was just doing my duty."
The second-year students went to their training area. Kairos and Fern were among them.
The academy has three levels, and students who graduate at the top positions have great career opportunities and may become nobles or knights' leaders in the kingdom.
The students went to their section, where there were 30 people, and each took a seat. Kairos and Fern sat at the back near each other.
Then Kairos said, "Fern, get ready well, because I want you to be among the top thirty in the competition."
Fern replied, "Alright, I will do everything I can."
