"Retreat, retreat, everyone back off!"
Noah's voice thundered through. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks,
They couldn't defeat the monster.
As if knowing that everyone was about to retreat the monster roared loudly and it became more violent.
The monster went on a bigger rampage as everyone faced their back towards the monster in a bid to escape.
Noah's eyes blazed with anger, as he saw the monsters actions, his gaze fixed on the monster as it targeted the weak ones among them.
The monster was more like a smart human.
The creature avoided the strongest attacks and attacked the weaker players.
It's strength was overwhelming, but it's intelligence was frustrating.
But Noah knew that he had to do something even if it meant him dying.
Most of the people dying from this monster were his men. He couldn't bear seeing them killed that way.
Looking for a perfect opportunity Noah launched himself into the aur, at the monster.
"Ahhhh." Noah shouted.
Noah's spear suddenly brightened up and it looked more threatening.
But,
The monster seemed to grin mockingly as it swipped it's tall at Noah's decending figure.
Noah seeing the incoming danger, knocked the tail down with his spear but the hit sent him flying, but he stood back up wipping the blood from his lips.
Noah's hand vibrated. The hit just Noah was huge and caused him some internal injuries.
"Leader." His men stopped in their tracks.
How could they leave their leader to this monster.
"Get out from here." Noah shouted as he ran towards the monster.
The monster who was about to murder another player who just appeared from the portal sensed the incoming attack .
Turning around, it saw that Noah was dashing towards him without fear.
The monster roared angrily, this particular human was the sole reason he had some injuries on his body.
The monster dropped the human who he was about to kill and ran towards Noah.
"Now that is better." Noah smiled as he saw the monster's actions.
It seemed like he has successfully angered the monster, it was willing to fight head on.
Noah knew he was going to lose, but before then, his teammates and many players from the portal will be safe.
Boom....!
The both of them collided and a figure was sent flying.
It was unsurprisingly Noah.
But before Noah could crash on the wall, the monster's tail wrapped around him at an astonishing speed.
The tails grip was too tight, the sound of bones breaking was heard.
After tightening his grip on Noah, the monster used his other tail that had a sharp end to strike towards his heart.
Noah's heart raced, Noah sighed slowly as he closed his eyes.
But just before the tail could strike, a chain cracking with lightening, stopped the tail in it's tracks, right before Noah's heart.
Noah who had his eyes closed but didn't feel the pain of death reopened his eyes.
Noah widened his eyes in surprise, he could see that a figure held the chain, the figure had pure white hair falling down his back.
It was Micheal, he held the chain as he looked at the monster's effort to free it's tail.
With brute force, Micheal flung the monster with the chain wrapped around the monster's tail, the beast's massive body crashed into the wall and Noah fell halfway on the ground.
Micheal was surprised by the force he could muster, but that was by the way as the monster sprang to its feet with an unnatural spees.
Its eyes showed pure fury as it looked at Micheal.
But it didn't move. It stared at Michaels small figure.
It then roared loudly and ran towards Micheal.
Micheal felt fear grip him. These monsters teeth looked sharp. It's strength wasn't a joke too.
"Should I run away?" Micheal thought to himself.
Micheal shook his head, he had claws too.
His hands gripped the chain tighter.
The monster jumped at Micheal while swiping it's claws. But Micheal dodged it.
As the fight continued, Micheal discovered that the monster was really fast., but was faster, its claw swipped at Micheal from different angles threatening to cut of his head or injure him gravely, but Micheal evaded all and dodged them by mere millimeters.
You seem to be proud of your claws, I have them too..... Micheal thought with a sly smile.
After dodging one critical attack from the monster, Micheal swipped his claws with great force at the monster's chest.
The force of the blow sent the monster flying.
Just as it was about to crash on the wall, Micheal's chain wrapped around the monster's torso, the lightening in the chain electrocuted the monster.
Roooooooaaaar
The werewolf monster roared in pain.
But Micheal didn't want to know how painful it felt, with his chain wrapping around the monster, he flung the monster from his left side to his right side hitting the monster on the floor with great strength.
Noah and everyone trying to escape stopped in their tracks as they watched the show with their mouth agape.
The figure with white long hair was like a demon playing with a baby monster.
The monster lay weakly on the ground unable to move, it's only sound were low groans.
Micheal put his leg on the creature's chest and with his chain wrapped around the monster's head, he drew out with great force, forcefully tearing the head from the body.
Micheal looked at his hands and the blood dripping from his claws, and he surprisingly felt good.
Looking at the surprised crowd, Micheal ran out of the hall with great speed and disappeared from everyone's view.
Noah looked at the young youth beside him, who also had a stunned expression on his face trying to make sense of what had happened now.
Meanwhile, Micheal ran into an alley well hidden in the city, he could feel himself getting weaker by the passing second.
You really got to be kidding me!
Micheal was speechless, just when he thought he had gotten a cool weapon, it came with a weakness, it was like a buff that only lasted for a while.
His hair was visibly turning black and getting shorter, his claws retracted and the strength he felt before was vanishing very quickly.
The mask disappeared from his face.
Everything was back to normal, so normal that he wanted to cry.
He tried summoning the mask but it wouldn't come out, it was like it was refilling it's lost energy, he felt drained, so drained that he knew that he was weaker than normal.
Micheal really felt like he should really cry.
What cool mask?
This was a two minutes buff!!
Micheal's thought was cut by the sound of a loud bell ringing throughout the city.
The sound was followed by a detached, mechanical voice that seemed to emanate from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
"Attention, all residents of Blackwater City," the voice said, its tone devoid of emotion.
"Due to the recent surge in monster activity and the resulting rampage, the competition will commence at midnight. All interested participants are required to report to the Adventurers Alliance Tower for registration. Further details, including rewards and rules, will be provided on site."
It's here already?... Micheal thought.
Micheal decided to go to the Tower although he felt weak.
On his way he decided to check out himself.

Micheal was speachless.
When did he awaken a sword? This thing didn't know the difference between a mask and a sword?
He looked inside him and saw the mask it was sucking Spirit qi around him, and he felt like he was slowly recovering his strength.
Just then though, beside the mask he saw it.
A golden glint, long and slender.
