Chapter 22 - Chapter 21. The Haunting Wound

The old, agonizing memories burned his mind, making him realize that he would never be able to overcome the humiliation and insults he had endured at that time.

"How can I forget that all these humans destroyed my life?" Jimin muttered. He stood near the window, gazing out at the dark sky. His wound ached, the intense pain blurring his vision as he clenched his chest. "Argh, not again," he groaned.

Just as Jimin turned to leave the room, his eyes landed on Anna, lying unconscious on the bed. She reminded him of David and all the acts of his brutality. Suddenly, all his sympathy and care for Anna disappeared, replaced by a deep hatred that urged him to destroy her, to tear her soul apart.

"But what is Anna's fault, actually?" his heart asked him. He tried to push away the conflicted emotions of his kind heart.

Jimin stepped closer to Anna, his eyes glowing in the dimly lit room. He leaned closer to her, a devilish smirk appearing on his lips as he slowly traced her cheek with the back of his pointer finger. "You're David's daughter. That's your fault," he said through gritted teeth. "Hurting you will destroy that fucking old man, and I promise I'll leave you broken," he muttered, pulling himself back. He took a long, shaky breath.

Jimin needed to feed on a human heart; he knew only then would the pain fade. He glared at Anna one last time and then stepped out of the room.

"You won't be able to escape me," a familiar voice echoed in the hallway. Jimin turned and saw Professor Ben standing at the far end.

Jimin sobbed in silence. He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms. His breath came in short gasps as fear crept into his chest. He shook his head, trying to push away the nightmare unfolding before him.

"This isn't real," he whispered, his voice trembling. "You're just in my head."

Professor Ben took a step closer, his smirk growing wider. "Does it matter?" he taunted. "Even in your own mind, you can't run from me."

Jimin's body tensed. He hated how his legs felt frozen, how his heart pounded with panic. The hallway around him blurred, twisting into the same cold, merciless place where David and Ben had once tormented him.

"You're nothing but a shadow of the past," Jimin growled, his voice echoing through the entire mansion. "I won't let you control me."

Professor Ben laughed. "Then why are you shaking, Aquanis?"

Jimin's breath hitched. His chest burned, his old wounds aching as if they had just been inflicted. He squeezed his eyes shut, forcing back the sting of tears.

"No," he muttered, taking a shaky step back. "I won't break again."

But deep inside, he knew the fear was still there, clawing at him like a wound that refused to heal. Professor Ben didn't disappear. He kept haunting Jimin, his presence looming like a shadow.

Jimin stepped back, his body trembling, until he felt the cold wall against his back. He slid down, his legs giving way, and sat on the floor. Tears streamed down his face, but he cried silently, his sobs trapped in his chest. He hugged his knees, waiting desperately for the nightmare to end. But Professor Ben stayed, his cruel smirk never fading, and Jimin felt smaller and more helpless with every passing second.

Jungkook stood by the small lake in his mansion's backyard, his eyes shut tight. His Aquanis form shimmered under the moonlight. Fins, sharp and translucent, extended from his knuckles and along his back, glinting like polished glass. His dark blue eyes glowed faintly, reflecting the water's energy. Around him, droplets rose from the lake, swirling in the air like tiny, glowing orbs. They pulsed with a soft blue light, dancing to the rhythm of his spell.

He chanted in a low, steady voice, each word rippling through the air like a wave. The water energy wrapped around him, connecting him to the lake and beyond. His fins twitched slightly as he focused, sensing the world in a way no one else could. The night breeze carried the scent of wet earth and fresh leaves, but Jungkook's mind was far away, searching for answers about Serena so that he could use her for his own sake.

Suddenly, flashes of images filled Jungkook's mind. He saw Serena trapped in a dark, damp basement. Blood ran down her forehead from a wound, and her face looked pale and scared. Her clothes were torn, and she struggled weakly against Professor Ben, who stood over her with a cold, blank expression.

"Let me go please! Why you're doing this? Why you brought me here.?" Serena screamed, her voice breaking as she begged for help. But no one came.

Jungkook's heart raced as the images grew clearer. He felt Serena's pain, her fear, her helplessness. It was as if he were there with her, trapped in that nightmare. His fists tightened, and the fins on his knuckles twitched with anger.

The water droplets around him shook, reflecting his growing rage, as Jungkook opened his eyes and exhaled a deep breath.

"That bastard is far more disgusting than I thought," Jungkook muttered, his body tensing as anger surged through him. His glowing blue eyes burned with fury, and the water droplets around him hissed and crackled with energy.

The fins on his back and knuckles sharpened, glinting like blades under the moonlight. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his palms. The image of Professor Ben played over and over in his mind, fueling his rage.

"I'll make him pay for every torture he did to my brother," Jungkook growled, his voice low and dangerous.

The lake behind him churned violently, as if it felt his anger too. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but the thought of Professor Ben kept his blood boiling. He knew he had to act fast. Without wasting another second, he turned and stormed toward the mansion, ready to confront the monster who had once dared to hurt his brother.
