"I think those two are having love problems," Khoa remarked, watching as Joong dragged Dunk away from their car.
"Yeah, I guess," First murmured, his eyes following the pair. A small smile played on his lips. "I envy them. They look so cute together. Do you think they'll start dating once they sort things out?"
Khoa caught a fleeting sadness in First's expression, but it vanished almost instantly. Before Khoa could say anything, First turned away, forcing a bright smile. "Let's go home," he said, turning on the engine without waiting for a response.
Normally, First was talkative when they were together, filling the car with his chatter. But today, he drove in silence, his gaze fixed on the road. Khoa attempted to spark a conversation, but First barely responded. After a few failed attempts, Khoa sighed and leaned back, deciding to let it go. Maybe First was just tired. Or maybe... it was something else.
---
"You're staying over, right?" Khoa asked as they pulled into his apartment complex.
First hesitated. "No, I'll go home tonight."
Khoa's face fell. "Why?"
"It's nothing," First said, avoiding his gaze. "I just thought... maybe I should give you some space. I feel like I haven't been doing that lately."
Khoa scoffed, crossing his arms. "Did I complain? If I wanted space, I'd say so. Be honest-this isn't about me, is it? It's what you want, and you're just making it seem like you're doing it for me."
"It's not like that," First insisted.
"Then come inside." Khoa's voice softened, but his eyes burned with emotion. "I want to be with you tonight."
First met his gaze and felt his resolve crumble. Khoa was looking at him with that silent plea-the don't leave me look that always left him weak. Before he could think, his body moved on instinct, closing the distance between them.
He captured Khoa's lips in a kiss, and Khoa responded instantly, melting into him. The warmth, the urgency-it consumed him.
Khoa will be the end of me, First thought, breathless, as he pulled away just enough to see the desire flickering in Khoa's eyes.
Khoa wasn't just asking him to stay. He wanted more. And First didn't know if he had the strength to resist.
---
"No, Khoa. I need to go home," First said, avoiding his gaze.
Khoa let out a sharp breath, frustration flashing across his face. Without another word, he pushed the car door open and stormed off, not even bothering with a goodbye.
First stayed in the car, watching as Khoa disappeared into the building. His grip tightened on the steering wheel as he waited. Only when the light in Khoa's room flickered on did he finally drive away.
Inside, Khoa slammed the door shut, his chest rising and falling with anger. "You want to give me space today? As if you haven't already been doing that," he muttered bitterly.
For the past month, First hadn't spent a single night at his place. It was strange-unnatural. First had always been the one eager to stay over, the one who blurred the lines between them. But now? Something had changed.
And what hurt the most wasn't just that First refused-it was that this was the first time Khoa had ever asked.
He swallowed hard, pushing down the sting of rejection.
Their relationship had always been hard to define. They'd known each other for over six years, but for the past two, they'd been something more-something messy, complicated, and undeniably physical.
It all started one night, two years ago. At least, that's how Khoa remembered it. They had been watching Only Friends alone, their sex scene playing on screen. The tension had been electric, pulling them together like a magnet. One kiss turned into another, and before they knew it, they were tangled up on the floor of Khoa's living room. That night changed everything.
Since then, they'd fallen into a pattern-stolen moments, unspoken rules, bodies drawn together over and over again.
But a few months ago, something shifted. First had started pulling away, acting distant, like he was wrestling with something Khoa couldn't understand. And now, as Khoa sat on his bed, staring blankly at the wall, a single thought crept into his mind-one he hated himself for even considering.
Is he getting bored of me?
Khoa clenched his fists. This-this-was exactly why he never let people in.
"So guys, how was Episode 1? 👀🔥 Did you like it?
What kind of trope do you think I'm going for? 🤔 To be real with you, I kinda just make it up as I go 😂. I always try to plan a theme, but somewhere in the middle of writing, my brain just decides to switch things up completely. 😆 It's a little chaotic, but hey, it always works out in the end, right? (At least, I hope so! 😜)
So tell me-based on Episode 1, what trope is it giving? Drop your thoughts in the comments! 💬✨"
