'the pure mana in my first circle is increasing exponentially. It's simply amazing, I think it's only a matter of time before I break into the second circle.' Charles said as he walked towards the training ground. He took a stroll and delayed on purpose because it was a big day, he had to come in style, and lose in style too.
'but I'm still unsure of something... My first circle is made up of the flames that the Phoenix gifted me, I think it's called flames of Eternity, Alex told me about it.
'so my first ring isn't normal, but what if the other rings? Will they also be made from the flames of eternity? Or will it be the normal rings of mana? I'm not sure. Time will tell I guess.'
As Charles entered the training ground. He saw a lot of familiar faces. People waiting to watch the legendary match between the second best trainee in the second third years trainees and the Flameworth who was thrown into their batch even when he was two years younger, they wanted to see what he was made of.
Trainees that had been training for more than ten years all showed up, the top class of the trainees that consisted of fifteen years olds came. The senior trainees, they were only one year away from receiving their Flameworth badges and becoming apprentice mages of Flameworth before advancing to become real mages. They were all second circles, the top of their classes at least.
Charles could see James Flameworth, gazing at Charles with cold, calculating eyes, his gaze was filled with malice, but his face was divided by a dangerous grin.
Charles could also see Perry Orswald, a noble from the house of Orswald, a noble family located at the east of the Flameworth duchy, it was headed by Marquis Blot Orswald. Perry was a big guy, he was shaped like a tank, the barbarian type you'd see in video games, his eyes were steady and filled with conviction, his arms were crossed and his teeth were wide open.
'a cheerful simple minded type huh.' Charles thought to himself. He had seen all he wanted to see, he didn't want to see the rest of their top five. Charles was sure that if he used all the tricks he had learnt and his other elements, he would be on par with or possibly even stronger.
Charles turned his head to look at a familiar yet surprisimg face. It was the Matriarch, the woman he hadn't seen since he had a meal with her when he was only one year old.
She sat down on her reserved sit, making ey contact with Charles, she seemed to be smiling with her eyes as she covered her nose and mouth with her hand fan.
Charles smiled back at her and walked into the space preserved for the fight with Teke.
'This stupid kid that put me into this predicament. Why the f**k is he smiling like a pervert?' Charles was annoyed as he stepped into what looked like a ring, Teke stood there waiting for him with a smug grin on his face.
"Get ready to die, Flameworth." Teke said as he cracked his neck and outstretched his palms.
McGregor stepped in the middle, using his hands to signal the both of them to wait.
"Now the rule would be, whoever surrenders loses and the winner is automatic. Whoever is unable to continue also loses and the winner is automatic. Use what ever moves it takes to win. This is Flameworth. Now start!" The instructor said with a commanding voice that stirred up the very soul of Teke.
As soon as he signaled them to start, McGregor went out of the ring.
Charles stood where he was, not moving or flinching with his hands in his pockets.
"What is he doing?" James who was watching him with Perry asked, a scowl was on his face as he was disgusted by Charles trying to look cool.
"Haha!! I like him James! He's a true man! Why have you never introduced me to your little brother James?!!" Perry said with a loud and bold voice, talk like a kid who's found a new play mate.
"You're a dunce head, you might burn him to death by mistake." James said as he rolled his eyes.
"Hahahaha! You always know how to make me laugh James!" Perry laughed joyfully, taking what James said as a joke.
'Anyways, that kid, what is he doing?'
James thought as he narrowed his eyes to view the fight properly.
A surge of flames spread around Teke's palm, coating his hands with flames. He ran towards Charles.
Charles stood there calmly, ready to intercept the incoming Teke.
"Valabro!" Teke casted a spell, as he was a base mage without a circle.
He knew the magical formula for a fireball spell but to activate the mana in his body, he has to say the spell out loud.
Loads of fireballs hurled out of his palms, directed at Charles.
Charles swiftly dodged them all, from the left, right, middle. The fireballs were fast, but Charles was faster, he was like a blur,he appeared as if he didn't move an inch from where he stood to normal eyes but not to trained eyes.
James eyes widened as he felt cold sweat run down his forehead.
'how can a four year old move that way? What the hell was that? He moved like Kiara!' James thought to himself, his cold demeanor breaking as he was riddled with surprise.
Teke swiftly moved with the flames still coated on his palm, he used the fireballs as s distraction to sneak close to Charles when he was busy dodging, ready to strike his stomach with his palm strike, a strike coated with flames.
Charles's gaze immediately shifted from the fireballs he was dodging and was fixed directly at the eyes of Teke.
Teke felt it, this was the end for him.
He couldn't move anymore, he was shaken with fear, his hand froze just before it made impact with Charles's Stomach.
Charles had wrapped Teke's wrist with invisible pure mana.
"Wh-what is this?!" Teke yelled, confused by the sudden occurrence.
Charles grinned as he dodged all the fireballs, he held Teke in his neck and raised him up.
Teke was six years old and Charles was four years old. Teke was few inches taller than Charles and Charles lifted him up easily, strangling his neck, looking him eye to eye.
Charles's face was painted with an evil grin.
'fuck that hide my strength bullshit. This guy has done too much.' Charles thought to himself.
"You. You wanted to kill me didn't you? Your attack was filled with killing intent." Charles said in a venomous tone, his voice laced with pure malice.
Teke felt a raging mass of red aura around Charles, he could have swore that the aura around him was alive with the way it was raging.
His crotch region of his pants turned a dark shade, he was petrified, his eyes widened in shock.
"Better don't surrender yet." Charles said, his eyes gleamered with a molten crimson glow.
"I'm not done with you."
'sorry Marcelle, some kids need to be taught a lesson.'
