Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2: THE BEAR LIKE CREATURE

About a hundred meters away Shad was able to see the vague silhouette of the creature though it was obstructed by the fog Shad was still able to get the rough picture of the creature. It was a bear and at the same time it looks like a rhino.

Damn just where am I really don't nobody ever told him that Earth has such creatures. Except he is no longer on Earth, which he find it to be absurd.

"maybe this just one of those unexplored regions on Earth"

Shad exhaled slowly still terrified from what he was seeing and experiencing at the moment. "what the hell is this?" he asked but there is no one to reply or answer his question.

The bear like creature began to approach him slowly and gently, just like how a mighty predator has cornered its prey.

As it gets closer Shad was now able to get a clearer picture of the bear like creature appearance.

It has a body like that of a bear's its four limbs were more like a rhino owns, not just that it also has the horn of a rhino one at the top and the other below, the lower horn much longer than the upper horn it was about three centimeter long.

Its heights were about six to seven feet with a length of about five feet. It was big, huge to be precise. He has never seen such a weird looking bear before. And this one Is just weird and creepy more like a hybrid between a bear and rhino.

The color of its skin was brown but a much darker brown. Shad was temporary loss of words. He was confused, terrified, marveled and surprised all at the same time, at this point he doesn't even know what he was feeling or rather what to feel at the moment. It was just so unnatural.

But all that conflict of emotions was just for a mere seconds. After the momentary shock Shad instantly came to his senses trying to make sense of what was happening to him or rather what he was seeing, was he dreaming are all this real or was he somehow under mind games by the organization.

At this point he was genuinely confused and lost.

He couldn't tell nothing actually made sense to him right now everything is just so unreal.

He genuinely felt as if all this was some kind of nightmares or illusions conjure by the organization.

The bear like creature was now a about eighty meters away from him Slowly approaching him. Shad then calmed his racing heart down.

He thought of what to do but the only thing he could come up with was to run. 'but to where' he thought to himself instantly he remembered that there was a huge tree a couple of meters away from the direction he came from even at this distance he was still seeing the tree as if it was only fifty meters away from him even though it was actually over seventy meters away from his current position.

It was a very big tree.

Without even thinking twice Shad dashed towards the huge tree, as the bear like creature saw that its prey was escaping it, it became furious and then it let out weird disturbing howled sound that seems to be amplified.

It was so disturbing and ferocious that Shad almost fell to the ground.

He was actually faster than the fastest sprinter on Earth reaching a top speed that the fastest sprinter could only dream of.

Well as a well-trained shadow agent personnel of his organization who had undergone rigorous training he was easily among the best they have even among the top ten he was still reverie among his colleagues.

Though not the best but among the best, not the strongest but among the strongest, not the smartest but among the smartest, not the most skill-full but among the skill-full he was all rounded a man of balanced and equilibrium.

In less five seconds he was already under the canopy of the huge tree it was truly magnificent but there was no tim to be amazed. Immediately he began to climb the tree.

The bear like creature was not slow either rather it never expected its prey to run away like that and that its prey was that fast well all that didn't matter for it was a second late from catching its prey.

The bear like creature moved so fast that Shad himself was shocked.

The bear like creature ended up crashing unto the bark of the huge tree which left it to be momentarily stomped due the impact. Though it felt pain it was the opposite for the huge tree.

The tree didn't bulge a little nor did it vibrate it was as if nothing happens at all which made Shad wonder even more. 'what the hell' he thought.

After being momentarily stunned the bear like creature finally came to it senses it looked up only for it to see its prey escaping even further from it which made it even angrier. And then it let out a loud roar signifying it angering state.

Shad kept climbing higher until when he was certain that the bear like creature could not approach him or rather to a point where he felt a little bit safe.

At this point Shad was abut forty meters high from the ground.

Looking down he saw the creature looking at him with madness in its eyes which gave him chills immediately he averted his eyes away from it.

Afterwards Shad tried to calm himself down trying to process all that have happened so far from when he found himself inside these strange and weird looking forest to the bear like creature and finally to this very moment.

Shad breath in and out slowly as if meditating. Slowly his heart beat was stabilizing his mind was now calmer than before.

Finally, his heart beat returned to normal his mind was now temporary calm.

Opening his eyes, he looked around taking good look at the huge tree he notices that the tree leaves were darker even though they are green.

"this tree, sure it is huge" he whispered.

Everything about the forest seems to be darker in color.

"why does everything seem to be darker in color" this He said to himself. He thought of it for a while but he quickly discarded it he had more important things to think about.

Looking down he saw the bear like creature moving forward and backward its was restless and frustrated and most importantly it was angry.

Sensing that Shad was looking at it, it raises its head and looked at Shad with its blood red eyes. Shad immediately felt a cold shiver run down his spine. Quickly he averted his eyes away from the creature.

Looking away from the creature Shad began to question himself on what was happening to him right now. 'what really is going on' he thought.

"Am I truly dreaming or is this some kind off top secret experiment carried out by the organization" he couldn't tell. He has never been this confused in his entire life. Nothing he could think of actually made sense to him.

At this point Shad didn't know what to think of anymore he was just so lost.

"Argh" he exclaimed in frustration. "damn, just what the hell is going" he said feeling restless.

"this is so annoying and frustrating" breathing in and out trying to calm himself down again he said to himself "calm down Shad you are not like this think things through there is a logical explanation to what is happening" pausing for while he added "I mean there should be reason for why all this is happening" he then sighed out.

Shad was silent for while he couldn't think of anything because nothing actually made sense to him right now. he then decided to lay on one of the wide branches.

Shad closed his eyes thinking for a while when he suddenly fell asleep without him noticing. Upon opening his Shad notice that it was now darker and colder some how it feels more of evening time.

He was quite surprised that he slept of just like that while trying to reason the strange things that had happened so far.

He looked down to see if the bear like creature was still around, unfortunately it was still th lingering around the tree in fact it was comfortably laying down.

"damn it" Shad blurted out "why can't it just leave me alone am I its only source of food in this godforsaken forest?" He said in annoyance.

After the unexpected good sleep he then came to terms with reality he wasn't dreaming neither was he under some kind of illusion or mind games this was real what he was seeing and experiencing were all real.

The only question he had now was why was he brought to this weird looking forest where everything seems to have a dark hue to it.

"what is my reason for being here?" he said but of course there was no one to answer him. "well it doesn't matter all I have to do is find the answers to my many questions myself" this he said full of conviction.

'but first I have to somehow escape from this abomination' he thought inwardly.

'Now then how am I supposed to escape from this thing, it is not like I can fight it. How am I even supposed to kill it, its just too big and weird looking' this he seriously thought to himself.

There was no escaping for Shad. He was seriously cornered and out plans.

In all his services to the shadow agents he had never encounter such instances before to the point where his chances of surviving were at one percent.

It is not that there were no options for him to pick from but it was that those options will only get him killed it was more of the only way for him to survive was to kill the bear like creature which deep within him he knows it is impossible.

It was as if this was how his life was supposed to end. Well at least that is how he felt.

He then sighed. Looking down again he checked if the creature was still there waiting for him and behold it was laying down quietly and peacefully.

Shad then broke a small sized twig stick curiously he decided through it at the bear like creature.

He throws down the small twig stick at the creature. Even as the wig stick touch the bear like creature it showed no reaction to it. Treating it as a normal mundane stuff.

Raising it head a little it looked at Shad and then went back to its sleep simply just ignoring the fact that Shad had try to pissed it off.

Shad whistled and then said "I will be damned".

Ignoring the creature also he decided to meditate so as to keep his mind and body at tranquility.

He then began to meditate not just any type of meditation but a much deeper meditation one that truly put his soul, mind and body in tranquility.

His soul felt peace full, his mind was serene and his body calm to the point where it seems to be like his heart was no longer beating, his lungs no longer breathing but all this were due to his deep meditation.

After what felt like tens of minute, he began to feel something strange in him. Something subtle something flowing within the very content of his soul down to his mind and body. It made him feel a little different.

The strangeness was there within him but he couldn't quite explained it.

Shad opened his eyes wondering what he had just felt. "what was that just now" he said in a shocked but surprised manner.
