When her father asked about her and Benjamin Shaw, Alice Turner's brows knitted together instantly. When she realized her father was watching her, she immediately relaxed her brow.
Her quick frown and subsequent smoothing of her brow did not escape the watchful eyes of Christopher Turner. "Are you still blaming me for forcing you to marry Benjamin?"
He continued to stare at her, his gaze unwavering.
"I know how to handle my own affairs, so you don't need to worry about me." Although several months had passed, Alice still harbored some resentment towards Christopher for forcing her to marry someone she barely knew.
