Lily Turner's phone was still in Easton Holmes' hand. When she heard the phone ring, her first reaction was to reach out and grab it, but she was still a step too late. His hand, holding the phone, had already moved to the side.
"That punk really is persistent."
His eyes were fixed on her, not even glancing at the phone in his hand. After answering, he placed the phone to his ear.
"Punk! I told you I wasn't—"
"Mr. Holmes! It's me! Where's Lily?"
The call was from Alice Turner, but what she didn't expect was to be greeted first by Easton Holmes' not-so-friendly voice. Unaware of the situation, she suddenly became worried.
Easton Holmes also didn't expect this call to be from Alice Turner. His abrupt behavior made him feel slightly embarrassed, "She's here."
Without waiting for a response from the other end, he directly placed the phone to Lily Turner's ear, "It's your sister."
As he put it to her ear, he didn't forget to give her a reminder.
