Chapter 33 - Chapter 028: Did You Break His Ribs?

The two of them were at a loss when Yuan Hang came out of the restroom.

"Yuan Hang, Duke Tong Airui, he..." The man with violet eyes was shedding tears of sorrow.

Yuan Hang looked at him suspiciously, "Fourth Master is perfectly fine, why are you crying! Wipe your tears; I'll take you to see him."

The man with violet eyes and the man with black eyes exchanged a glance, realizing they had been deceived.

After the two entered the ward, they couldn't avoid asking about Tong Airui's condition.

Tong Airui looked at the two of them, "I'm fine, go back and tell my older brother and second sister that I'm okay. Tell them not to come to Country Z—it'd be troublesome, and it might make my parents suspicious."

"The Chieftain will arrive in two days. He's on official business, so the Prime Minister and Madam definitely won't suspect anything since this was arranged a month ago." The man with black eyes said respectfully, "But he is still uneasy and wanted me to come check on you first. I'll call him now to report."

As soon as the man with black eyes left, the man with violet eyes hurriedly said, "The Second Prince and Princess will come tomorrow. We've already thought of an excuse, saying it's to celebrate Aunt Yueya's birthday, which won't arouse the Prime Minister's suspicion."

Tong Airui slightly furrowed his brows, "Call my sister immediately and tell her about my situation. Then I'll call her myself and ask her not to come—the baby is still young, it doesn't need this kind of bother."

"The Princess won't be reassured unless she comes herself." The man with violet eyes noticed Tong Airui's worsening expression and promptly exited the ward.

As he left, two men with blue eyes entered the ward. After stepping inside, they bowed to Ai Ni, "Duke Ai Ni, greetings!"

Ai Ni pursed her lips, "Mike, just the two of you came?"

Mike responded respectfully, "Prince You Jia is in Country F; he'll be here in one day."

Ai Ni glanced toward her brother on the hospital bed.

Mike caught on quickly and hurried to the bedside, "Duke Tong Airui, Prince You Jia heard about your injury and sent us ahead to look after you. He'll arrive tomorrow afternoon."

Tong Airui responded with a faint sound.

"My Lord, Uncle is here!" Yuan Hang pushed the door open, shouting joyfully.

Tong Airui turned to look at the doorway and saw Tong Yehua, dressed in military attire, walking in. He quickly attempted to prop himself up to sit.

Tong Yehua hastened his steps and gestured for him to lie back down.

"Uncle, aren't you supposed to be training at the base?" Tong Aino and Ai Ni rushed over.

"I just returned from a test flight and saw Ze Kai's message. How are you? Is the injury serious?" Tong Yehua, who was one or two years younger than Tong Airui, asked with an air of maturity.

"It's not serious; Old Seven's mouth is just too much!" Tong Airui smiled bitterly.

Tong Yehua laughed, "Without Old Seven's mouth, how would I have known you all had returned!"

While people were coming and going in the room, Yi Luowa stretched her neck to keep watch outside. She only withdrew her gaze when Uncle Li walked in.

"Why aren't you lying down, child?"

"Where did you go?" Yi Luowa asked using lip movements.

"So many things to deal with." Uncle Li shook his head helplessly, "If it weren't for Tong Airui helping me, I'd be running around so much my legs would give out."

Yi Luowa pouted, "He said he won't help us anymore."

"When did he say this?" Uncle Li was taken aback.

"Just now. He wants me to become his servant, to take care of him until he's healed. If I don't agree, he won't help us anymore."

"That's over the line! I'll send people over to handle this; we'll investigate ourselves!"

Yi Luowa frowned slightly and used lip movements to say, "Uncle Li, you've been away from Country Z with my Second Uncle for nearly twenty years. You don't have any connections left. Even if you bring in more people, it won't help."

Uncle Li paced the room in frustration before suddenly resolving, "I'll negotiate with him! I'll become his servant!"

Yi Luowa tapped the bed frame to catch Uncle Li's attention. Once he was looking at her, she used lip movements to ask, "Uncle Li, did you break his rib by kicking him?"

"You think he's getting revenge on you?"

"I made him angry—otherwise, he wouldn't make this demand." Yi Luowa covered her face with her hands, unable to meet Uncle Li's gaze.

"The Second Master has spoiled you!" Uncle Li pointed at her angrily, seeing the IV drip had run out. He quickly stepped out to the door and shouted loudly, "Nurse, the medication is finished!"

A nurse hurriedly came in.

As soon as the needle was removed, Yi Luowa climbed out of bed.

"Where are you rushing off to now?" Uncle Li asked impatiently.

"I'm going to the room next door to negotiate!" Yi Luowa said with a face full of determination as she seated herself in a wheelchair.

"Eat first. Wait till the Second Master enters the operating room this afternoon; you can talk to him then."

"During Second Uncle's surgery, I have to be there with him. I also need to settle the matter for the other side—it'll be harder to deal with if Xi Meichen tries something else." Yi Luowa finished her sentence and wheeled out the door.

"I'll go with you." Uncle Li chased after her.

Yi Luowa shook her head and looked toward Yuan Hang, who was standing by the door of the neighboring room, using lip movements to say, "I want to see Tong Airui."

Yuan Hang hesitated before entering the ward. "Fourth Master, that girl next door wants to see you. Should I let her?"

Tong Airui glanced toward the door, "I don't have time."

"Fourth Brother, if she's looking for you, it must be something important." Mi Chenxuan walked over, pleading, "Can you and Uncle talk a little less and listen to what she has to say?"

Tong Airui glared at him.

Tong Aino rolled her eyes at him.

Mi Chenxuan looked at the two older brothers with a contorted expression, "You two might as well just eat me!"

"Yuan Hang, let her in." Tong Yehua glanced at Tong Airui, "I have seven days off; I'll be here with you every day during this time."

Yuan Hang dared not move and stared at Tong Airui.

Tong Airui nodded slightly.

Yuan Hang rushed out, spotting Yi Luowa near the door of her room, and forcefully grabbed the wheelchair, pulling her back.

Yi Luowa turned her head and shot him a disgruntled look.

"My Fourth Master says he'll see you."

"If he has time, I don't!"

"Little girl, you might be small, but your temper is big! Don't say I didn't warn you—my master is in a bad mood. Don't provoke him once you're inside." Yuan Hang opened the door and pushed the wheelchair in.

Everyone in the room looked over.

Yi Luowa calmly scanned the crowd, her icy gaze finally settling on Tong Airui's face. She used lip movements to say, "I agree to be your servant, but I have one condition."

Mi Chenxuan tilted his head as he looked at Yi Luowa, regretting deeply that he hadn't learned lip-reading earlier.

"Does a servant have the right to negotiate conditions with their master?" Tong Airui fixed her with an even colder stare.

Yi Luowa glared at him, "You can't be so heartless. I'm not asking for much—just that while I am taking care of you, I also be allowed to care for my Second Uncle."

"Let's see how you perform!" Tong Airui replied in lip movements.

Yi Luowa clenched her fists, "Then when do I start taking care of you?"

"Tomorrow." Tong Airui said no more and stopped looking at her.
