Chapter 37 - Chapter 032: A Big Gift for the Old Witch!

Yi Luowa felt so disgusted with herself that she couldn't even continue, pouting her pink lips, "I need to go out at 7:30, but I'll be back by 8:30 or 9. I'd like to take a leave from you."

"Is that all it's for? Did you really need to put on that little performance earlier just for this?" Tong Airui cast her an icy glance. "Given how proactive you're being, I doubt you're here just to ask for leave."

Yi Luowa's mouth twitched slightly; her little schemes were all seen through. What was the point of pretending anymore? She wheeled herself further from Tong Airui and shouted toward the caregiver's room, "Dr. Mai! When will my second uncle wake up?"

At the sound of her shouting, Mi Chenxuan, his hair in a complete mess, came out first. Upon seeing Yi Luowa, his eyes lit up instantly, "Half-asleep, I thought I heard your voice. And it really is you!"

Yi Luowa smiled at him. "Where's Dr. Mai?"

"You'll see him come out in half an hour; that'd already be quick."

"Then should I go in and call him?" Yi Luowa shifted in her wheelchair.

Monica hurriedly reached out to block her way, "Don't go in. The three people in there aren't wearing any clothes!"

Not wearing any clothes! Yi Luowa instinctively glanced at Tong Airui on the bed. Seeing he wasn't looking at her, she quickly hid her hands behind her and rubbed them hard twice.

"Then could you ask for me? When will my second uncle wake up, okay?" Yi Luowa looked pitifully at Mi Chenxuan.

Mi Chenxuan nodded quickly.

"I'll go check." Dr. Mai Ze'kai came out with a white coat in hand, even before Mi Chenxuan could go in to call him.

Tong Airui cast a suspicious glance at Mai Ze'kai.

"I'll go with you." Yi Luowa followed behind.

"I want Chinese food!" Tong Airui coldly interrupted.

Yi Luowa glared at him fiercely, then turned her head with a bright smile to Mi Chenxuan, "Chenxuan, help me grab some Chinese food for this guy. I'll be right back. Thanks so much!"

Mi Chenxuan laughed, "With our relationship, saying thanks is unnecessary. I'll go right now."

Yi Luowa swiftly wheeled herself out of the hospital room.

In the ICU, Dr. Mai took quite a while checking. Yi Luowa and Uncle Li nervously waited outside.

Finally, Dr. Mai emerged, lowered his gaze to Yi Luowa, and said, "Everything is normal. He should wake up around midday today."

"Thank you." For the first time in days, Yi Luowa let out a genuine laugh.

"There's no need for such thanks. It's what I'm supposed to do." Smiling warmly, Mai Ze'kai returned to Tong Airui's hospital room.

Two bodyguards and one patient all turned simultaneously to look at the cheerful Mai Ze'kai.

"In heat!" Tong Laowu commented with disdain.

Mi Lao San nudged him, "Don't make it sound so gross! The proper term is yearning!"

Mai Ze'kai acted as if he didn't hear them, slowly sat on the couch, poured himself a cup of tea, and took a small sip.

"Stale tea—I hope it gives you diarrhea!" Tong Aino said viciously.

"Let's call it by its scientific name: dysentery!" Mi Chenshuo nudged him again.

"She was smiling… No matter who comes looking for me, tell them I'm not here today. It's not my shift." Mai Ze'kai finished his stale tea, spoke languidly, and then went into the caregiver's room.

"My goodness, this guy is so unbearable!" Tong Aino looked exasperated.

Tong Airui glanced at his younger brother, "Tomorrow, you and Third Brother accompany the crazy girl to the Yi Corporation."

"Why don't you just let me die!" Tong Aino stared at his older brother in discontent.

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly, then continued looking at his phone. "What do you think? If I send these photos to Xi Meichen, will her tears at today's funeral be more convincing?"

Mi Chenshuo walked over, glanced at the phone once, and quickly snatched it away, "Laowu, come here and take a look—this is outrageous!"

Tong Aino stormed over angrily, glanced at the screen, then fixed his gaze on Tong Airui. "You've been staring at these spicy images for half a day without even a little reaction?"

Tong Airui frowned sharply, staying silent. He wanted to beat Tong Laowu.

"It's over! Third Brother, my brother is done for!"

Mi Chenshuo also looked at Tong Airui seriously, asking, "Laosi, are you really out of commission?"

Tong Airui glared at him, "Get me two voice actors."

"What for?" Mi Chenshuo asked, perplexed.

"They don't need to be professionals, as long as they can make noise." Tong Airui smirked slightly, "Aino, hand me the computer."

With great reluctance, Tong Aino handed over the computer.

"Third Brother, find me some people immediately. I want to prepare a big gift for Xi Meichen." Tong Airui curled his lips into a malevolent smile.

At the solemn funeral hall, Xi Meichen was supported by her two children as she walked to Yi Weibang's body.

"Weibang…" Xi Meichen looked tearfully at Yi Weibang, lying amidst the bouquet arrangement.

This utterance seemed to be a voice-activated switch. The funeral music stopped abruptly, and the LCD TVs mounted around the hall suddenly turned on.

The two to three hundred attendees began looking around uneasily. Was this some kind of haunting?

Accompanying strange noises, the screen showed a man and a woman engaging in a scene inappropriate for children.

"Who did this? Such actions show disrespect for the deceased!" An older man yelled loudly.

Xi Meichen stared at the man on the screen in disbelief, tears flooding out uncontrollably. Her vision blurred from the crying, obscuring the images on-screen. But the indecent sounds drilled into her heart again and again, leaving her feeling as if her chest was being torn apart. Xi Meichen turned and collapsed onto Yi Weibang's body.

"Weibang—why did you leave us, your orphaned mother and child? How could you be so heartless—Weibang—You've let us down—you've let us down—Weibang—you, you…"

Xi Meichen rolled her eyes back and fainted.

"Doctor! Someone get a doctor! My mother fainted!" Yi Shaoqing shouted.

The funeral hall suddenly erupted into chaos. Some rushed to get a doctor, others tried to turn off the TVs, while some went searching for the sound engineer.

"We can't control the TVs!"

"The sound system, we can't control that either!"

"Cut the power! Quickly, cut the power!"

Yi Lingfei looked at the images on-screen with a sneer, curling her lips in disdain. She knew that man. Her mother told her to call him Uncle Bai. Yet, she hadn't expected that Uncle Bai, who seemed gentlemanly and refined, could also be so vile.

All sounds and images disappeared upon the power being cut.

The already eerie funeral hall was now shrouded in complete darkness.

After a brief silence, someone let out a scream, "Ahhh—" The panic-stricken crowd stumbled in the dark while escaping the hall.

In that darkness, Yi Shaoqing heard a grinding noise nearby. Reaching out his hand, he touched his mother!

Xi Meichen tightly gripped her son's hand, screaming hysterically, "I won't let them off!"
