"Oh, that little friction of yours was really thrilling, almost cost someone their life." Alder Locke's sarcasm cut through, yet before Nathan could say anything, Titus Zane already stood up, chin raised, and spoke rudely to Alder Locke.
"Alder Locke, whatever happened was between Nathan and me. It was my fault for accidentally pushing his beloved woman down the stairs, causing her paralysis; Nathan's treatment of me is not unreasonable!"
"Oh, what a deep love between husband and wife," Alder Locke sneered again, and then turned to look at Nathan, "I just wonder what kind of magic Director Moore has to make little Zane so devoted to defending you, even forgetting the fact that you nearly drove her to death."
Nathan's handsome brows furrowed tightly, and surprisingly, he had no force of retaliation against Alder Locke's cold words.
