I smirked at the kid, Stradein Volmer, it was proper to respect your opponent, even if they were a kid about to learn a hard lesson.
"Sylveon, Baby-Doll Eyes." I decided to give the kid an easy start, no matter how much I wanted to hit him with a pixilated [Double Edge]. See how that feels kiddo.
"Dragonair use [Agility]." He called out and the dragon shot him a glance before flying into the air.
"Sylveon use [Swift]." Let's see how this goes.
"Dodge it!" The kid yelled out and the Dragonair huffed before letting the yellow stars slam into it, but it obviously regretted that as it cried out in pain as it flailed in the sky a bit before regaining its focus and glaring.
"Dragonair use [Dragon Breath]." They did in fact not use that move, no they used [Dragon Rush] instead. Ok, well two can play the power game.
"[Double Edge]." I called out.
"Take this you stupid dragon!" Sylveon cried out as she flew into the sky slamming into the charging Dragonair.
"Ha!" I heard Sylveon call out triumphantly and I saw both them fall onto the arena, Sylveon calmly landing on her feet and Dragonair crashing into the ground.
"Dragonair are you ok!?" The kid didn't hesitate to run onto the field to check on his Dragonair who cried out softly before fainting.
"Winner Raven Inanis and his Sylveon!" The referee called out as the crowd cheered.
"Hey no hard feelings kid." I said as I approached the kid who had returned his Dragonair.
"None you old man." The damn brat smirked at me.
"Did your Dragonair just evolve from Dratini?" I asked and the kid looked up to me confused.
"Yeah, how did you know?"
"She was smaller then your average sized Dragonair's are. How long have you had her?" I asked and he answered happily.
"For a little over a year. We just bear Lt. Surge and she evolved! Our second badge."
"Well done, however dragons are notoriously known for their strength and abilities, however what isn't quite well known is their views on trainers. A dragon will choose their trainer, however even if they accepted you at one point, at some point they might not. You need to prove to Dragonair you're a worthy trainer, a companion." I said as the kid looked down at his pokeball with a slightly tighter grip.
"Yeah, and if that mean dragon gives you any issues I'll put them in their place!" Sylveon must live up to that dragons vs fairies thing. Oh well.
"Well said Raven. Dragons can be notoriously picky about their trainers." Cynthia said as she walked up, her Garchomp walking behind her like a fierce puppy. She's so cute!
"Garchomp!" One day I'll learn to understand all Pokemon, but for now I'm happy understanding my own.
"You were very stubborn. You may have liked me, but you didn't properly listen to me till that time when you evolved into a Gabite." Cynthia smirked at Garchomp who huffed as she glared at Cynthia.
"I see, thank you for the help." The kid said before running off to heal his Dragonair.
"You're not competing right?" I asked hopefully, because I really wanted that egg.
"No you don't need to worry, that egg is still safe for your hands." She smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"Good to know, I know I had no chance to battle you right now. Especially your Garchomp. I must say, her scales are quite good looking, what material did you use to clean them?" I asked and she shook her head.
"Trade secret I'm afraid."
"Gar!"
"Darn." I smiled as I looked at the field to see two trainers battling, a Pidgeotto and a Beedrill.
I kinda just sat in silence now unsure what to say, luckily I didn't have to because she started the next conversation.
"So you said that Arceus was born from the original ones who made the unknown and Mew, and then Arceus created the creation trio, Giratina, Dialga and Palkia. Why them?" She asked and I smiled, this was a nice conversation to have here I guess, I think.
"Ah, now that is a simple and complicated answer." I said as I sat down on a bench and gestured for her to join me. Garchomp and Sylveon joined us quickly afterwards by our feet.
"The original one had created Space and Time, The Distortion World. All three linked together, but they were unbalanced and uncontrolled. Arceus held control over them, but he sought to lighten his work. So first he created Giratina, Lord of The Reverse World, Master of Anti-Matter." I let out a soft hum as I glanced up, I don't know why I do this when telling stories, I just do.
"Giratina is said to have been banished for his violent ways, but that is untrue, he was merely given dominion of the reverse world and rules over it doing his job. He is the eldest creation of Arceus, the first born."
"Then came the twins, Dialga, Lord of Time. Palkia, Lord of Space. They ensured their respective domains flowed properly. However they are known to… let's say clash. This however effected the reverse world, which effected the real world, so Giratina would have to stop their clashes. If you want a similar case, it's like Rayquaza with Groudon and Kyogre." I said as Cynthia nodded her head as she wrote this down in a notepad, Garchomp was also cutely writing in her own notebook, actually impressive with those clawed hands.
"Together they keep the fabric of reality together. If you ever witness the twins clash, you'll notice things fading away because of it." I said and paused as I glanced up to hear the referee call out my name.
"Let's put a hold on this, I got a battle, I'd be happy to continue this over dinner." I smiled at her.
"I'd be happy to." She smiled in return.
"Daddy is she going to become my new mommy?" I nearly tripped over at this question from Sylveon.
Just focus on the battle, not the raging hormones growing at the images in my head. Damn you body!
