Chapter 25 - XXV. Dominance

Time passed and evening rises with its orange gleam, the rain has stopped, leaving puddles, muddy dirts, and leaves droplets in the surrounding.

Birds came out of their hiding spot and began to flap their wings once more, those who fly to reach their homes, and those who fly to catch their preys, there are many reasons as to why creature did something.

Amidst these tranquil evening, there was a place where the exact opposite happened, a place where reasons became more apparent and hope became a constant struggle.

The Scythe students, having done with their 3 phase training, now moved on to a new one, before they began this new evening training, the students received a generous 1 hour break from Scythe, although it might seem like a long time, it was nowhere near enough for everyone to refill their stamina, not to forget about the fact that their body were literally breaking down as time goes on, an hour was insufficient for a recovery.

Unlike the previous method where the students can choose whatever training they might need, this time it was different.

SWOOSH!

CLACK!

CLACK!!

"HIYAARRRGHH!!" Seir screamed as he ran towards Scythe who's holding a wooden sword in the middle of the field.

The new evening training was to make the students duel wih Scythe himself, each person gets 10 minutes time to fight, and if anyone managed to land a hit on him, Scythe said that they will be given a reward.

It's been a week since everyone tried to fight Scythe with their wooden scythe, but so far, none of them was able to land a hit, Scythe's body seems to be covered by an invisible barrier that prevents the students from hitting him, of course the barrier weren't actually real, it's just that Scythe's skills was so high that he practically became untouchable.

With the wooden scythe in his hands, Seir took the blade to his back, preparing a swing attack for the moment where he got close enough with Scythe. Responding to his incoming charge, Scythe clicked his tongue, as if disappointed, and held his sword high infront of him.

SWING!

Seir attacked, he swung his scythe diagonally, making sure that the sharp edge of the blade will reach Scythe and possibly injure him.

Clack!

A small clacking sound was made when the two weapon collided. Seir's scythe was about to meet contact with Scythe's cloak, but unfortunately, he managed to swiftly redirected the scythe's trajectory away from him, using his wooden sword as a medium, Scythe carefully analyzed the blade movement and then lightly tapped it with his sword, causing an imbalance and making the scythe go way above than Seir's prediction.

"H- Huh!?" Seir reacted in disbelief, his swing was nullified just like that.

"That's way too basic." Scythe said with his deep voice, he was about launch a counter attack by striking Seir's stomach with the sword's hilt, but to his surprise...

CLACK!

Seir's scythe pole came out of nowhere and blocked Scythe's attack, in that short amount of time, Seir was able to decide the next move accordingly, since his blade was way out of reach and he won't be able to retract it in time, Seir immediately resorts to everything he can see on his vision, the scythe's hilt was one of them, he immediately raised his scythe's hilt and gambled on the rest, his decision making ability was unexpected even for Scythe, his eyes widened for a brief while upon realizing that his attack has failed.

'I BLOCKED IT!' Seir cheered in his mind.

Swoop!

'GUH!? S- SHIT!'

THWACK!

It was a mistake for Seir to be overjoyed from the block earlier, as moments later, Scythe responded to the block with another attack, this time he completely ignored his sword and used his leg to kick Seir on his chest, his reaction was way too late and the kick landed on him before he could dodge or do anything.

"KEEUKKK!!!" Seir grunted as he felt the sharp pain, his body flew towards the edge of the field and he landed on the muddy ground, stained.

"Ugghh... Yikes.." Said Hughen after he watched Seir being flown out into the air and fall to the ground.

"That's a broken bone for sure– Aside from that, does he have an allergic to punches or something? That bastard always uses his legs.." Said Endi, his voice sounded confused, but he kept a small bit of calmness to it.

"Oohh? Looks like it hurts, what do you think? Deon?" Calea also decided to bump into the convo, she looked at Deon who's standing beside her.

"U- uh.. Yeah, it's definitely painful.." Deon replied, his voice sounded scared, specifically after seeing Calea's weird smile.

The fight between Seir and Scythe ended after that kick, he announces the end of the fight soon and then ordered Seir to stand up and go back to his position.

"Yes.." Seir said, responding to Scythe's order as he stood up from the mud, he wiped some of the muds off of his clothes and face, but left most of it to stick to his body.

"Next up—

Scythe was about to call out the next student, before he suddenly got interrupted by Calea who shouted towards him.

"INSTRUCTOR! PICK DEON!" She said while waving her right arm and pointing at Deon using her other arm.

"WHA– HEY! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU—

Deon tried to retaliates and shut Calea's mouth down, but it was useless as Scythe then spoke again.

"Deon, you're up." He said, following with Calea's request.

"H- HUH!? SIR! BUT– " Deon screamed, he wants to deny, but he remembers that he's talking to Scythe right now, and the rules said that he's not allowed to disobey Scythe's order, even if its ridiculous. "Understood...."

'AAGHHH!!! FUCK! THAT FUCKING BITCH!' Deon thought, frustrated and resented Calea.

He walked forward with his wooden scythe in hand, and as he took a couple steps, he heard a quiet clapping sound from behind him, Deon took a glance at his back, and what he saw fueld the rest of the anger inside of him. Calea was there standing, clapping for her successful mischief with a wide smile.

'That damn bitch, is she taking her revenge right now on me? For the past week, she's been annoying the hell out of me, if it wasn't because of her awakening, i would've already killed her long ago.'
