As the darkness consumed Kaios, he found himself in the space filled with only darkness. Kai looking this said to himself, 'Where am I? What am I doing here?'
He looked down to see only his body, glowing in a white neon light amid the dark environment like the northern star in the sky, guiding the travelers. Kai noticing this muttered, "Is it my spiritual body? And how did I end up in this strange spiritual place?"
Kai then started to scan the surrounding, in search of his answers, when he noticed a small flicker of light in the distance. He moved towards the light to examine it or in the hope to get the answer. Answer for the 'What is this place?', 'How did he get here?' and 'How to go out from here?'.
Thinking about those questions, he moved towards the flicker of light. But time stretched out as he drew closer to it. He walked, he ran and he sprinted with all his might towards the light, but to no avail he couldn't reach there. He felt like catching the smoke with bare hand, so close—but always slipping away. Yet he tried, tried to get the answers and tried to get out of this void.
After running for what it felt like an eternity he finally reached at the source of the light. He forgot how much time passed and how much time he ran, he finally reached his destination. When he takes a step to examine the source of the light, he finally sees it.
A colossal Gem, that flickered periodically with an ethereal white light, light that can calm the mind and soothe the soul of every being basked in it. It is so big that it can easily dwarfed their planet Vaeltris.
Kai or Kaios decides took a hesitant step towards the Gem and touch it with his palm. As his spiritual form reflected in the Gem's surface, he realised something —that the Gem is not an separte object, it is embedded in something much greater...
A Crown.
And the moment he realised it, a vast ocean of information flooded into his mind like the dam is broken . He felt like the thousand of needles are piercing every part of his brain.
He clutched his head, groaning in pain and agony as the vast amount of knowledge overwhelmed him.
Then everything became quiet....
After some unknown time the pain finally faded. From the earlier burst he gained vast amount of knowledge. He took some times to collect himself and processed what he had just learned.
First the place he is in— this infinite void, is known as The Garden Of End.
Also all this time he had been standing above something more terrifying.
A corpse of humanoid looking celestial being.
The body, it looks like it contains many galaxies and nebulae. It resembles dark sky with millions and trillions of stars.
Also more importantly is that his spirit now connected with this place.
That comes to the second truth, which even more overwhelming. The main reason he was here in The Garden Of End cause he had an affinity with a mysterious energy Lumina.
There are many power systems in the Universe, but the most used are NMT and Mage path. Both of them uses different energies like the many others.
For NMT or technological path the energy is a type of quantum energy called Psion. They accessed it through the Nano Cores after completing NMT. Then they attenuate it to the Class they want to progress. Be it Physical, Mechanic or Energy classes.
For Mage path they use the energy Ether. They used it through the natural core or another medium by projecting their will into the surrounding. As they progressed through, it became specialized like Elemental path, Celestial path etc.
Similarly for other paths there are many types of different energies.But the most important thing is the energy he had affinity with Lumina.
It is the source of them all.
All these energies are derivative of Lumina. With this he realized something. He wasn't connected to any power systems, He is connected to the power system.
As Kai is processing this revelation, a sudden burst of bright white light erupted from the Gem. This blinding light engulfed everything including Kai.
Kai instinctively tried to protect his eyes but it resulted nothing. Then he felt a sudden force gripped him, pulling and dragging him toward the core of Gem.
Then everything collapsed around him, dragging him into unconscious once again.
In the metal tube filled with blue liquid, Kai's body can trembled, his fingers twitched and eye lids started to flicker.
Then with the sudden jolt he woke up from the metal tube as if trying to escape a nightmare. His blurry vision started to recover and the first thing he saw was the worried face of his mother.
As his sensory overload ended,gradually adjusting to his environment, he finally heard what others are saying around him.
"Karl, is he alright?" His mother's voice filled in worry, "He was not responding even after waking up."
If an outsider witnessed this, they would be left utterly confused and baffled. Lyra, the ever composed figure, model of authority and grace—now looked stressed and worried.
But right now, she is just a overprotective mother concerned for her son.
Karl, hearing Lyra's concern, replied, "Everything is okay, Lyra." Checking the holo-screen in his hand "He is just experiencing minor sensory overload."
"He will be alrigh....", his words trailed off as he noticed Kaios staring at them them. "See? Lyra he is okay. You are just overreacting.", Karl chuckled.
"Yeah...but seeing him this like this made me little concerned.", Lyra nodded while focusing on Kaios.
"Kai, are you okay my son?", she asked sounding concerned.
Kai replied with a reassuring smile, "Yeah mom, just a little light-headed. That's all."
Hearing this Lyra let out a relieved sigh. But the concern for Kai could still be seen in her eyes.As both mother and son duo are talking, Karl cleared the throat to interrupt while holding the holo-screen.
"Alright, family moment aside," Karl said with small smirk, tapping on his screen. "Kaios, I have to run some check up on your NMT to make sure it is performing perfecly."
His focus briefly on the display and said "The compatibility result should be in within next ten minutes."
As Karl is running the routine check up, his Holo-screen made a soft beep sound signaling that the compatibility test result of Kaios come out.
His eye momentarily scanned the data streams displayed on his screen. As he is processed the result of the test, one of his eyebrow arched up slightly, indicating something was amiss.
"Kaios," Karl muttered his gaze still fixed on the display, "Your compatibility test result came in."
Hearing this Kaios and Lyra straightened up. Kaios calmed his rapid heartbeat and asked, "What is the result Dr. Karl?"
"Hmm... The NMT is successful, the nano core is stable but..."
