Chapter 5 - Revelations

Kaios is now sitting on his bed, pondering about all the things he learned. It is now 7 in the evening.

After all the information, there is one thing he still doesn't have the answer to how can he solve his awakening problem?

Kaios muttered to himself, "As Doctor Karl said, the effects will be worsen over time, and the last hope, Dr. Karl's theory, has also been proven wrong.

"What can I do? I have to think of a solution first, but also, there is no answer regarding this in the Crown," he said, sounding frustrated.

As he was thinking about this, a knock on his door could be heard.

He got up from his bed and opened the door. There, he saw a tall man who looked like he was in his late 60s.

He wore a fit black suit. With his neatly combed grey hair and trimmed beard, it gave off a sophisticated look.

The man was Winston Graves, their family butler. Kaios had known him since childhood. He also considered him like a family member because, as long as he remembered, Winston was there for him every time, even when his dad was busy or his mom was away for Dive.

Kaios greeted him, "Hello, Grandpa Winston. What brings you here at this hour?"

Winston nodded. "Master Grimwold arrived half an hour ago and wants a chat with you, young master," he said formally to Kaios.

Kaios always told him to speak informally with him, but Winston always denied it.

Kaios raised an eyebrow. "Dad is back already? Guess we can't keep him waiting."

"Lead the way, Grandpa Winston," Kaios said while nodding to Winston.

Kaios followed Winston to a room on the 3rd floor. Winston then knocked on the door of the room.

A deep, commanding voice came from within.

"Come inside."

Kaios entered the room after Winston. There, he saw a man with a large figure who was taller than Winston. That man was his father and sitting beside him was his mother.

"Thank you for your service, Winston. You may go now," Dante said in his same commanding tone.

Winston, hearing this, bowed one more time before leaving the room.

Kaios then focused on his dad. His father had a tall and imposing figure, with a height of 6'8" (203 cm). His raven-black hair and piercing red eyes, along with his chiselled face and battle-hardened body, commanded respect everywhere he went.

His strength was also nothing to scoff at. He was at Peak stage 9, one of the strongest people just below the 5 Magisters, signifying his vast authority. He was also the youngest one, reaching this stage at only 42 years old.

But today, he was here as a father, not as one of the strongest or as a Guild Master.

Kaios felt slightly nervous standing in front of Dante.

Dante looked at Kaios. "Kai, I heard about the issues with your Awakening. I have some idea about why it's happening—but before that, there is something you need to know about yourself," he said calmly.

What? Dad knew? Does he also know about the Garden of End? Kaios masked his shocked expression.

"As we told you before, Lyra and I found you in the Forest of Grey under the Grey Mountain during our Dive," Dante told Kaios.

Kaios nodded, and Dante continued, "At that time, I was a Guild leader of a small guild, and your mother was its vice Guild leader. I was at Stage 7, whereas your mother was at Stage 6. We both were at the end of our potential."

"Then you came into our lives. You were always special Kai, from the beginning. When we came into contact with you, suddenly our Resonance got better, and our Psion got purer. Though the loss of the ER set us back for some time, it also gave us another chance to form a stronger ER. Using our savings, we formed more powerful ERs and grew stronger. Till now, we don't know if we are at our limit yet."

Kaios was too shocked to hear this. He didn't even know that the youngest Stage 9 on their planet, his father, was capped at Stage 7.

"You don't know, Kai, how much of a boon you are to us. Although even if you didn't do anything, as your parents, we will do everything to solve this issue. We took you from the forest not knowing your abilities, so you are our son even without your abilities," Dante said gently, his authoritative tone replaced by genuine care for Kaios. Lyra also smiled, seeing Dante like this.

Kaios was baffled and surprised hearing this. Also, he was happy that they loved and cared for him genuinely and not because of his powers.

"Hmm... Kai, show me your hand. I have to check if what I have in my mind is right or not," Dante asked, suddenly remembering something.

Kaios gave his hand to Dante. Dante held Kaios's palm, and it started to glow. Kaios could see that Dante's Psion was flowing towards his NR core through his palm.

Then, suddenly, the flow of Psion halted, and Dante started to laugh loudly.

Before Lyra or Kaios could question him, he stopped.

"I knew it, I knew it! As I thought, Kai, you are special," Dante declared excitedly and proudly.

Both Lyra and Kaios looked at each other, baffled, not understanding what Dante meant.

Dante looked at Lyra. "I got some important information recently. You can only increase your Psion in the Realm of Awakening—that is, until Stage 10. We had overcome it due to Kai and resonating with a stronger ER. And that is the reason our planet's people are weaker than those of other systems, as the material and ore are limited. But after Stage 10, you have to increase your purity; our Psion amount will remain unchanged."

"It is a secret that not many know." Then he focused on Kaios. "But Kai here is the exception. In the NMT centre, they only recorded his amount of Psion. As our planet doesn't have a purity checker. If we have, you will see that our son..." He smiled smugly and proudly.

"Our son's Psion purity is... higher than Stage 10 or beyond that."

"Whaaat?" Both Lyra and Kaios shouted simultaneously in shock.
