"No, wife!" Edmund quickly tried to calm her down before any tears could fall. "You're not dumb at all. I made so many mistakes when I first started doing my royal duties! Two mistakes are nothing!"
[If someone as dumb as me could handle royal duties, then my wife can do it even better than me!]
"Really?" Primrose took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm in her mind. "So … I'm not terrible at it?"
Edmund looked at her with certainty. "My wife is never bad in my eyes."
That was when she realized she had asked the wrong person. He was the same man who once said she could burn down the palace, and he'd still fix it for her.
But … sometimes, that was exactly the kind of answer she needed to hear.
Even if it wasn't the most logical or objective, his words had a way of softening her heart and easing her worries.
"Thank you," Primrose said with a warm smile. "You make me feel much better now. I'll do my best not to make any more mistakes."
