"Husband," Primrose said gently but firmly, holding his jaw and pulling him down. "I truly believe in you. Can you believe in my words?"
Edmund nodded slowly. "I … I believe in my wife's words."
Primrose's smile was as bright as the sun, momentarily blinding him. He swallowed and said, "Wife, you … you're too close."
Instead of stepping back, Primrose leaned in even closer. Her floral scent mixed with his pheromones, making Edmund momentarily forget how to breathe.
He was doing his best to stay in control when Primrose whispered something that set his whole chest on fire. "Husband, I didn't give you a welcome kiss last night. Do you want one now?"
Without a second thought, Edmund nodded. He held his breath, eyes wide open, just so he could keep looking at her. "I want it."
"Then close your eyes," she said gently. It felt too awkward to kiss someone who was staring like that.
