Kakashi carried the unconscious Naruto and Sasuke to Konoha's central park. The early morning sun spilled through the trees, bathing the benches in golden light. With a sigh, Kakashi carefully leaned both of them against the bench.
"There," he said, brushing off his hands. "This way, they can at least sober up naturally."
He stood back, looking at the two knuckleheads sleeping soundly. "Unbelievable," he muttered. "Naruto's getting married tomorrow, and he's still drunk out of his mind. Incredible. Don't tell me this was Sasuke's idea of a bachelor party?"
Kakashi squinted at them suspiciously. It was possible. After all, those two rarely needed a reason to turn something simple into chaos.
"Forget it," he muttered, taking a seat on the grass. "Let's just wait for them to wake up."
Kakashi reached into his flak vest and pulled out a well-worn orange book—Make-Out Paradise. A soft smile appeared beneath his mask as he opened it. "Ah, Master Jiraiya… still no new volumes. Guess I'll have to reread the classics."
The minutes turned to half an hour. Kakashi had gone through the book three times when movement caught his eye. Sasuke's fingers twitched, his brows furrowing. Slowly, the Uchiha raised a hand to block the sunlight and squinted.
His head throbbed. The last thing he remembered was clinking glasses with Naruto.
Wait... this isn't the bar. Where the hell am I?
"Finally awake, Sasuke?"
The familiar voice snapped him out of his daze. His reflexes kicked in instantly, and his Sharingan flickered for a split second before he recognized who it was.
"Kakashi," Sasuke muttered, rubbing his temples.
"Morning," Kakashi replied casually. "You and Naruto sure know how to make an impression. I found you both passed out cold in a private room at the tavern. The staff couldn't wake you, so they came to me."
Sasuke grimaced. "...You carried us here?"
Kakashi nodded. "Yup. Even used two Shadow Clones to haul you. Consider it a free ride. You're welcome."
Before Sasuke could reply, Naruto twitched beside him and suddenly yelled, "Sasuke! One more round!"
Kakashi sighed, his single eye narrowing. "You two really overdid it."
Naruto groaned, rubbing his face before blinking blearily. He looked around. "Huh? Where is this? Wait—Kakashi-sensei?!"
Kakashi raised a hand lazily. "Yo. You good, Naruto?"
Naruto yawned and stretched. "I guess? My head's spinning though. Sasuke, did we—uh—drink that much?"
Sasuke stood up and brushed the dust off his cloak. "More than enough. I'm leaving."
Naruto reached out to stop him. "Hey! You're just going to leave like that?!"
Sasuke ignored him, giving a faint grunt as he walked away without looking back.
Naruto watched his friend disappear, then plopped back down on the bench. He groaned and rubbed his temple. "Ugh, my head feels like a Rasengan went off inside it. I really shouldn't have had that last cup…"
Kakashi sat beside him, crossing his legs. "Naruto, what possessed you to drink that much the night before your wedding?"
Naruto scratched his hair sheepishly. "Well, Sasuke came over out of nowhere. We started talking, then the drinks started flowing, and... well, one thing led to another." He blinked. "By the way, Kakashi-sensei, how'd I end up here? And why are you with me?"
Kakashi gave him the full story, from the tavern staff's panic to him hauling both of them out.
Naruto winced. "Ahaha… sorry, Kakashi-sensei. I caused you trouble again."
Kakashi waved it off. "Don't worry about it. Just reimburse me for the drinks later."
Naruto blinked. "Wait—you paid for it?"
Kakashi nodded.
Naruto grinned. "Then I'll pay you back no matter what! I've got more than enough money now. I've got the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and the Hokage allowance coming soon—I'm practically rich!"
Kakashi chuckled beneath his mask. "Forget it. Consider it my wedding gift to you and Hinata." His tone turned dry. "But honestly, what were you thinking getting this drunk the night before the ceremony?"
Naruto froze. "Wait… the wedding?!" His eyes widened in panic. "Oh no! It's tomorrow!"
Kakashi raised a brow. "You just realized that?"
Naruto stood up, nearly stumbling. "I overslept! I'm supposed to help Hinata's dad today! I'm doomed!"
Kakashi sighed, shaking his head. "As expected… even after being through everything, you still haven't changed, Naruto."
Naruto was already pacing. "This is bad, really bad! Hinata's gonna be so mad!"
"Relax," Kakashi said. "Before you run off, answer one question. Then you can panic."
Naruto stopped. "A question? Make it quick, sensei!"
Kakashi crossed his arms. "You're getting married tomorrow. Someone still has to be on duty. In your previous life, how did I handle this during your wedding?"
Naruto blinked. "Huh? That's… random."
But after thinking, he grinned sheepishly. "You invited everyone to the wedding, sensei."
Kakashi frowned beneath his mask. "Then who was on duty?"
Naruto laughed. "Oh, that's easy! We asked Gaara to send a few shinobi from Sunagakure to help coordinate security with the Konoha guards. That way, all the Leaf shinobi could attend the ceremony!"
Kakashi's visible eye widened slightly. "Hmm. That… actually makes sense."
Naruto smirked. "Told you. I might not look like it, but I'm smarter than people think!"
"Debatable," Kakashi said dryly.
Seeing the Hokage satisfied, Naruto rubbed his neck awkwardly. "Well, if that's all, I gotta run! Hinata's gonna kill me if I don't show up!"
"Wait—Naruto!" Kakashi called after him.
Too late. In a flash, Naruto vanished, leaving only a dust cloud behind.
Kakashi sighed, shoulders slumping. "I was going to ask him to stay and talk to Gaara this afternoon. Guess not."
He glanced at the sky. The sun was already high. The Kage from the other villages would be arriving in a few hours. He'd have to greet them in his formal robes, and now, he had another task on top of that.
"Looks like I'll have to handle this myself."
He thought for a moment. If he couldn't rely on Naruto to ask Gaara, there was still one person who could help him make this work quickly—someone who could move across space itself.
A smirk tugged at Kakashi's lips beneath his mask. "Space-Time Ninjutsu, huh… I might not have the Flying Thunder God, but I know someone who does something similar."
His expression softened. "Obito…"
Kakashi clenched his fist lightly. "Guess I'll have to ask for a favor."
With that, the Sixth Hokage straightened, the familiar spark of resolve returning to his visible eye.
"Alright then," he muttered, adjusting his Hokage cloak. "Let's make these wedding arrangements official."
Without another word, he disappeared in a swirl of leaves, heading toward the dimensional space that only one person could access.
The village was peaceful, the sun warm, and somewhere far away, the sounds of laughter echoed—reminding Kakashi that even in times of peace, some things never changed.
Naruto was still Naruto. Sasuke was still aloof. And Kakashi… was still the one left cleaning up their messes.
