The hallway felt unfamiliar the moment we stepped out.
The air felt colder.
The walls too wide.
The silence too loud.
Annabella pushed me slowly toward the living room.
The moment we entered, the servants froze.
Their eyes widened.
One maid gasped and dropped her towels.
Another covered her mouth.
Someone whispered my name like they'd seen a ghost.

They never finished.
Then they bowed.
Not the way they used to—sharp, and respectful.
