Everyone was busy doing their own thing.
Black Phoenix and Ganata were drooling over the delicious food and the Life Fruits on the table.
"That Life Fruit Kino just gave you—share half with me, will you? Just a taste," Ganata said, eyeing Black Phoenix's stash.
"No way, that one's mine," Black Phoenix refused flatly.
"Come on, I gave you half of mine last time. Next time I get one, I'll give you half too."
"…Fine, I only have one left," Black Phoenix reluctantly pulled out a Life Fruit, split it in half, and the two began munching.
Evening and Jean were tidying up the table and organizing the fruits. Of course, only a small portion were Life Fruits—after all, the more you consumed, the weaker their effects became.
Everyone in the house had already eaten two.
Only Black Phoenix and Ganata still got the occasional one from Kino as a treat.
Lorna and Wanda were doing homework together—one writing by hand, the other typing on a laptop.
Their teachers had given them assignments.
Lorna had recently slacked off on her studies and ended up getting a C from Tony.
Wanda was just unlucky. Kino had just been given a whole new pile of homework and dragged his apprentice along to do it.
The two girls exchanged glances in mutual understanding and sympathy.
"Ah!"A sudden scream rang out.
Everyone looked up—it was Harley. No one was surprised.
"Put this away! Who told you to give this to me as a gift?!" Gwen said with a deadpan face as she shoved a gift box containing a giant eyeball back into Harley's hands.
If she hadn't felt a strange sense of crisis from the box, she wouldn't have discovered what was inside.
If her mother saw it, she'd probably faint on the spot.
"Why? This is my proudest collectible! Don't you think it's beautiful?" Harley said earnestly.
"I don't. It would terrify my mom."
"Alright, alright, you cowardly little spider. How about this one instead?"
"That's exactly the same as the last one! Stop taking things out!"
"The color's different..."
Maria looked at Venom hesitantly.
"What is it, Mrs. Maria?" Venom asked gently, a warm smile on her face.
She was willing to be patient with the family members of her sisters.
"You remind me of someone... Do you know a woman named Boa Hancock?"
Venom's smile froze for a second but returned just as quickly.
"I don't know her. Could you tell me about her?"
Maria nodded and began to speak slowly.
"Boa Hancock was actually Kino's adoptive mother. Her husband was named Dio Brando, a true gentleman of elegance..."
Venom listened carefully.
Pamela, sitting nearby, looked more and more puzzled as she listened. She hadn't heard of Dio before, but she'd seen plenty of Boa Hancock.
At the dining table—
The lights were warm and inviting, the table filled with all sorts of delicious food and cakes.
"Little Spider, say 'ahhh~'" Harley grinned mischievously, holding up a forkful of cake to Gwen's mouth.
"I can feed myself," Gwen replied helplessly, but still took a bite.
Black Phoenix and Ganata were stuffing their faces.
Jean and Pamela watched them, just in case they accidentally ate the cutlery—something both had done before.
Wanda and Lorna sat together. Maybe it was the homework, but they seemed to be getting along well.
Evening flitted around the seats, refilling drinks, until she was scooped up into Kino's lap and hand-fed.
Venom continued asking Maria about the finer details.
George watched everything unfold, finally feeling at ease.
As long as Gwen was happy, that was enough for him.
[Scene Transition]
"Logan, there are three things you must accomplish after going back in time:"
"Find Mystique."
"Convince me and Erik to work together."
"Stop the Sentinel Program."
"I know it won't be easy, but I believe in you, Logan."
Logan's consciousness sank deeper and deeper, until he suddenly saw a bright light and snapped awake.
He was lying on a large, white bed—everything in the room was pristine white and gleaming. Logan sat up and walked to the window.
Outside, the bustling city came into view—cars honking, people rushing about.
No war. No Sentinels.
"My God… it actually worked," he murmured in disbelief.
He grabbed some nearby clothes and dressed, preparing to look for this world's Charles.
Just as he was about to open the door, a photo on the wall caught his eye, and he slowly approached it.
"I… was married?"
In the photo, he was dressed stiffly in a white tuxedo, looking grumpy.
Next to him stood a young blonde woman in a white wedding dress, smiling sweetly as she clung to his arm.
Logan's expression grew complicated. He looked at the other photos—vacations, beach trips, concerts.
In them, his face wasn't as sullen. There were even a few smiles.
CLANG!
A metallic sound suddenly rang in his ear.
Startled, Logan popped his claws and turned around, ready to attack.
"Finally scared you, hubby~" said a playful voice.
A woman in a white apron stood behind him, holding a spatula, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
It was the same blonde girl from the photos.
Logan blinked and retracted his claws.
"Don't do that again. It's dangerous."
The White Queen raised an eyebrow, then looked at the photos on the wall.
"You're looking at those again? I thought you hated having them up."
"I just felt like it. Where are the car keys? I need to go out."
He didn't want to be harsh with someone who might've been his wife in this world.
"Even if you're busy, you should eat first. I made breakfast," she said sweetly, turning away as a glint of coldness flashed in her eyes.
Logan didn't notice anything wrong and followed her.
He first needed to find those keys. But as he eyed the steaming roast meat and nearby whiskey on the table, his stomach growled.
It had been so long since he'd had a decent meal. One breakfast wouldn't delay much.
The White Queen watched Logan eat ravenously.
For someone to infiltrate Logan's mind so quietly right under her nose—a telepathic master—it couldn't be simple. Maybe it was connected to the mysterious hand behind the God of Fear incident.
Just in case, she'd call for backup.
She calmly pulled out her phone.
"Hello? Good morning. Yes, this is the housekeeping agency? Uh-huh. I've got a rat in my house. How soon can someone come? Good."
She hung up, then sat back across from Logan.
"How's the roast? Do you like it?"
"It's great. Best roast I've ever had," Logan said between gulps of whiskey.
"If you're still hungry, there's more in the kitchen. I'll bring you another plate," she smiled warmly.
Logan blinked for a moment, then shook his head.
"I've got something important to do. Where are the car keys?"
"What is it that's so important?"
"I have to find Charles and Erik. I need to stop the Sentinels."
"Then why are you using Logan's body?"
"Because I am—"
[Logan…]
Suddenly, Logan snapped out of it.
He'd been hypnotized.

"A gentleman's mask can hide the darkest intent, but even elegance can't silence the truth forever."
