"You'll get used to it."
Blonsky patted Juggernaut on the shoulder.
"What's our mission this time?"
Juggernaut asked out of the blue, a hint of confusion in his eyes.
"You didn't just come along without even knowing what we're doing, did you?"
Blonsky was speechless.
"Yeah. You guys are strong."
Juggernaut answered honestly. His past experiences had taught him that following the strong was never a bad idea.
Blonsky was momentarily at a loss for words. Was he really the only one in this team using his brain?
Left with no choice, he patiently explained.
"A few days ago, a small town around here suddenly went dark. At first, people thought it was just a communication failure. But soon after, HYDRA detected abnormal energy readings here and speculated it might be the Fear God, Serpent."
"So, our mission is to investigate the situation and—if possible—take care of the problem."
Juggernaut asked, "Why us? There are people more suited for rescue and investigation."
"You think everyone else is free right now? A lot of mutants and scientists have gone to the Nine Realms or into space for environmental engineering and portal construction. That just leaves brawlers like us on Earth.
Even Magneto has been working non-stop lately and has no time to spare."
Blonsky finished and looked around, a bit puzzled why Hulk hadn't returned yet.
"ROAR!!!"
Hulk's roar echoed from ahead.
Blonsky immediately transformed into Abomination and charged toward the source of the sound.
Juggernaut also smashed his way forward, breaking through rock, blood, and ice alike—nothing could slow them down.
In just a few seconds, the two arrived at a snow-covered town.
Suddenly, a green figure flashed past them, crashing into a house.
"Hahaha! Hulk, you got knocked away again!"
Abomination taunted mercilessly.
"Hulk wasn't knocked away!"
Hulk's voice came from the opposite direction, followed by the sounds of fierce combat.
Abomination was stunned—then who just went flying?
Suddenly, a green hand gripped the broken wooden wall and gave it a yank, tearing the entire house apart. Standing within was another green figure, with glowing green eyes filled with caution as it stared at the two strangers. It exhaled white vapor with every breath.
"Another Hulk?"
Juggernaut frowned.
"Hehehe…"
Before he could finish his thought, more houses were smashed apart. Then came the sound of infant laughter.
Dozens of green figures staggered out of the buildings. They were barely over a meter tall, yet their muscular bodies looked unnaturally strong. Their small green faces were twisted into eerie expressions.
Juggernaut's breath caught in his throat.
These monsters looked like they had just been born!
"No… they're Gamma Monsters."
Abomination immediately recognized them. After all, he had gained his own strength through similar means and was all too familiar with such mutations.
These Gamma Monsters were humans mutated by absorbing Hulk's blood. Both their bodies and minds had undergone irreversible transformations.
He, on the other hand, had been lucky. Not only had he received enhancement serum, but he had also undergone gamma radiation experiments, which helped him maintain his human form and intellect.
"Juggernaut, go help Hulk. I'll handle things here."
Abomination said calmly.
Juggernaut glanced at him, nodded, and charged toward Hulk's location, demolishing buildings in his path.
He knew—there were no civilians left here.
"ROAR!"
The Gamma Monsters charged at Abomination, moving with animalistic speed and using all four limbs.
BANG!
A dull thud echoed. Red blood splattered onto the pure white snow, stark and disturbing.
A headless corpse lay still on the ground, signaling the quick end of the brief fight.
"So weak…"
Abomination shook the remaining blood off his hand and looked at the rest of the little Gamma Monsters with disdain.
"Alright, brats. I don't know if you can understand me, so I'll say this just once—get back in the houses and I'll pretend I didn't see you."
The little Gamma Monsters giggled innocently, as if they had no idea what Abomination was saying. They began to gather around him.
"Ba… ba ba…"
One of them hugged Abomination's leg, seemingly mistaking him for its father.
"Sigh. You're making it hard for me to finish the job."
Abomination sighed helplessly.
But just then, the little Gamma Monsters opened their mouths, revealing rows of razor-sharp fangs. They muttered: "Ba… ba ba… delicious…"
BANG! Another sickening thud echoed...
Meanwhile, Juggernaut arrived just in time to see Hulk swinging two Gamma Monsters like war hammers, smashing them into the crowd around him.
These Gamma Monsters came in both male and female forms, all muscular and glowing green, charging at Hulk without a shred of fear.
"HULK HATES IMITATORS!"
Hulk roared in fury.
He hurled the two monsters in his hands, knocking down several others.
Despite absorbing his blood, the Gamma Monsters were inferior to Hulk in every aspect. Only their numbers gave them a temporary edge.
Hulk crouched slightly, then leapt into the sky with tremendous force.
With Hulk airborne, the Gamma Monsters immediately turned their attention to Juggernaut.
Just as Juggernaut was about to charge and crush the monsters, his expression changed. Without hesitation, he turned and sprinted away—not out of fear, but because he saw a green blur plummeting from the sky.
"HULK SMASH!!"
Using gravity to amplify his power, Hulk raised his fists and slammed into the ground at the center of the monster horde.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The earth quaked violently.
Years of accumulated ice cracked and rolled like waves, swallowing up the surrounding Gamma Monsters.
The shockwave cleared the snow and wind from the skies above.
Only after a long while did the chaos finally settle.
PFFT!
Juggernaut crawled out from under a snowdrift, shocked by the scene before him.
The town had vanished completely, replaced by a massive crater. Scattered around were green limbs and broken remains.
A stream of blood flowed through the pit, a mix of Gamma Monster blood and melted ice.
Suddenly, Juggernaut remembered something from a past mutant gathering.
Someone had asked, "Other than the boss, who's the strongest in the Demon Syndicate?"
Some said Professor X.Some said Magneto. Some said the Phoenix.
Only Bobby had said, "If we're talking pure strength, other than the boss—it's Hulk."
Juggernaut had remembered that well.
Now, staring at the devastation before him, he gained a deeper understanding of Hulk's strength.
Quote of the Chapter:"Strength, unrestrained by wisdom, is the most terrifying monster of all."
